So I said I bought GTA V on Steam with the Megalodon Shark Card, I just recently refunded it to see if I could get all my money back, turns out I might actually be getting all of it back, which essentially means I just got $8,000,000 for free.
Can people point me in the direction of a money spawner? Or do people in this thread not do this anymore? I haven't played pretty much since FriendlyMenu stopped working
I'm thinking about buying GTA V, but how true are the reviews on steam? I feel like they're exaggerated
I'm thinking about buying GTA V, but how true are the reviews on steam? I feel like they're exaggerated
i think you're going to have to be a bit more specific than that
i think you're going to have to be a bit more specific than that
All the reviews are saying that the multiplayer is crap and people are getting false banned But I feel otherwise
Think I gave up on grinding money. Just give me an update where i can go to law school or work at burger shot ffs
All the reviews are saying that the multiplayer is crap and people are getting false banned But I feel otherwise
It's true. If you want money in multiplayer you have to grind for a minimum of 8 hours a day, 5 days a week, as if it were your full time job in real life.
Yeah the grind is a total joke at this point. The MP sounds good in theory, but Rockstar's execution is what ruins it. Everything is set up so they can move more Shark Cards. The community in general is also kind of shitty, a lot of the random players are just downright malicious people and they're totally incompetent if you try to play missions or heists with them. Things can be kind of fun if you have a nice group of people to mess around with, but otherwise I think the MP mode leaves a lot to be desired. YMMV but I have a lot of fun in single player with mods, since you can bring most of the online content over at this point.
All the reviews are saying that the multiplayer is crap and people are getting false banned But I feel otherwise
The multiplayer part is more debatable, but the false bans have certainly been happening. Those claims are by no means exaggerated. As for GTAO, it is an extreme grind to get anything of value. Not only is gaining money from the start exceptionally slow, with each new content update, Rockstar's prices for that content keep ballooning to more absurd costs, with even a single car costing several million dollars. CEO and MC work can get you some decent money, but both have upfront costs of a few million themselves. Heists can be fun, but require several setup missions beforehand, each of which can easily be failed if your team is uncoordinated. Along with all of this, you have to put up with the fact that the majority of players you'll encounter in public multiplayer are thirteen year olds armed with homing rockets, sticky bombs, jets, and sniper rifles; all of which they are fully willing to use to chase you to the ends of the earth for no reason other than to kill you for amusement. And, being a new player, you won't be able to unlock any of the things that will give you any chance to fight back, let alone be able to afford to use any of them. So, if you wanna play Online and actually be able to have fun with all the high-tier content, you have two options; grind your ass off in private lobbies with friends, or pay several times the cost of the game in Shark cards. Take your pick.
It was easier to get started back when you could just give yourself a little cash without fear of being instantly banned. Not to mention there was a point when most of the content was at least obtainable (without using trainers), it seems like things spiraled out of control after they threw the golden vehicles and yachts in. Now for new players it's like "god speed, because you're pretty much fucked." I think it's also the nature of the game itself that just feeds into the malicious side that some people have. Most online games seem to have their shitty players, but GTAO's community really takes the cake in that regard. Especially if they're still using trainers at this point, people will just go out of their way to ruin your sessions.
That's because the fun players play private sessions. But that said, if you will get gtaV for the MP, be sure you either like grinding worse than in a bad f2p MMO, that you have friends to play with often, and most importantly, do not under any circumstance go into public lobbies. The ban risk is not worth it, and rockstar does not revert bans, ever.
But iirc you're not able to do almost all profitable shit in private session right? Like CEO or MC stuff can only be done in public lobbies where people fuck you up
there's a couple of crews just for hosting peaceful lobbies where everyone does shipments without fucking with each other, you can find them on the GTAV subreddit
I'm in love <3
But iirc you're not able to do almost all profitable shit in private session right? Like CEO or MC stuff can only be done in public lobbies where people fuck you up
I like to just unplug/plug in my ethernet wire real quick. After a couple of seconds, everyone leaves the server and you're still public. Suspending the session in task manager works too. Eventually a few people join but usually are friendly and have the same goal as you.
all i have to do is play in any public session for 5 minutes before the netcode takes a shit at least 90% of the time more people don't join me after i get dropped
Ban risk? What the fuck are you talking about?
he probably heard a story about some guy getting banned for having hackers drop money on him (something i've been hearing lately too) though i wouldn't call it a "ban risk". it's just as risky as crossing the street because there's a chance a driver might hit you, or that being in an airplane you may die in a crash.
Hackers have dropped cash on me countless times and not once have I been banned. I also join a new session immediately instead of sitting there absorbing millions of dollars, as long as you do the same you shouldn't be banned.
Things have changed a lot recently. All sorts of hacked money gets detected now, either by volume or by item type and because it's Rockstar, they don't give a fuck that you didn't want it because there is the chance that you could have asked for it. Plus, having your character wiped is a risk I am not willing to take, especially if I can avoid it simply by not playing in public lobbies.
I just don't wish to start over my Online Progress, since if i do get wiped it'll be an instant quit The time it took me to get all that i have now is too much trouble to do over

So Im seeing this is 50% off, do you think it is honestly worth me getting? I loved the previous games and I have played some of this, but you guys make it sound like it would be pointless to get into multiplayer now?
So Im seeing this is 50% off, do you think it is honestly worth me getting? I loved the previous games and I have played some of this, but you guys make it sound like it would be pointless to get into multiplayer now?
It's not really pointless, the overpriced stuff they're talking about is like the $10mil golden yachts and luxury jets, which were made only for gullible people with hacked wallets. There's a big divide between "practical" and "expensive" in this game, so you never really need money except for modding cars. AKA if you don't care about making millions of dollars to buy the most expensive stuff, you dodge almost all of the complaints. The stuff about innocents being banned for no reason only seems to happen to friends-of-friends, and it usually turns out that they had game mods installed, so I have my doubts. I've been playing since launch and I've never had a lot of cash, or cared about buying high-end stuff, and the game is still fun because making money is only one part of it. It's free to mess around with other players, go to car shows, meet people, do races and missions, explore the map. I'd recommend it just for the Facepunch events but the organizer got kicked out :v:, even without that there's FPers roaming around. It's nowhere near Korean MMO levels of actually buying playtime by the hour, or paying to unlock areas (all the DLC has been free so that's a plus). If it looks fun for you then go for it.
The stuff about innocents being banned for no reason only seems to happen to friends-of-friends, and it usually turns out that they had game mods installed, so I have my doubts.
Yeah, I haven't known anyone who's been banned for having money dropped on them, the only time I've heard about it was in this thread
like Atlascore said, people have been given money by hackers (me included), friends have told me of their friends getting 20million in cash for being AFK, reporting it because they don't want to get banned, and rockstar basically replying with "its fine we saw it". other people i've heard from got banned because they were given money - maybe its the nature of how the money is given, or what the person who received it did before or after? or maybe the person who is handling the case at rockstar, interpreting it as bannable or not. i'm not saying they're liars but its clear that it's a very gray area. that being said you shouldn't avoid public sessions just because of this risk.
The problem is that if it will trigger a ban there is nothing you can do. Your account will be wiped, and rockstar wont care. My friend got cash dumped ol him and didn't even manage to leave the session before he was banned. No matter if it is random whether you get banned or not, just that chance that your whole account will be reset, is way too much of a risk to take after 700+ hours. Also, those people you mention didn't get banned, when was it they got the cash?
I'll probably give it a try, if I don't like it I'll just refund And I was wondering, if it's like 65 gigs on your drive so I'll have to download like 30 gigs on steam?
Spreading happiness and cheer with my Christmas pipe wrench. [t]https://puu.sh/sZNhI/65fe0a0b51.jpg[/t]
am I seeing thing or is this a really vague YMCA

Took about 2 hours with my 100 Mbit/s
My friend bought me GTA IV on steam. I'm actually offended about how bad of a port this is. I have that games for windows live bypasser bullshit so that problem is solved. Are there any tools out there that would help improve performance? I have a GTX 1070 and i'm running at 45fps with constant stuttering (at the recommended/default settings).
I highly appreciate the Juggernaut and Duffle glitch, I now have a new favorite casual outfit [t]http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.com/ugc/108482634789756361/3AA30CE278AC666D7F56015ED61D89294A8A23BB/[/t]
In the mean time, they have fixed my favorite outfit... [t]http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.com/ugc/545280244461873629/352E96ECD35D3A24733ACA07497308D32C5EF297/[/t] It auto equips a shirt now. Mind telling me how to get the dufflebag now? I have it on this character already, but not on my second.
