Have you guys ever experienced cars disappearing when driving too close to them? I've seen buses and trucks just vanishing, sometimes I experience the opposite, I'm driving away from someone and cars just spawn in front of me, then disappear.
every now and then when I drive on the freeway, a truck will spawn in the ground and explode.
I think that has something to do with your 'NPC spawn radius' crossing over with someone really laggy since P2P ahoy
I do wonder how GTAO would be if it was made from the beginning without the limitations of the PS3/360 gen and had the xp/$ rewards balanced from thr beginning. I created a new character fairly recently and realised that it's going to take an age of grinding to even to be able to access the chance to buy anything. As controversial as it sounds I think the current gen/PC release would have benefited didn't let people carry everything over. But I do feel this has been a big experiment for rockstar. And it makes me optimistic that they've learnt a good deal and the next GTA release whenever it is comes has a genuinely compelling multiplayer. That said they might have just learnt that cash cards are incredibly profitable.
One thing I've wondered for a long time (since GTAIV) is what a 100% PC-exclusive GTA game would be like. The visuals, the world size, the depth of the control scheme, how big the multiplayer lobbies would be... Just how far could they go with it? [editline]29th December 2016[/editline] Imagine a GTA game on the world scale of FUEL, where going from corner to corner by land can literally take hours. Air vehicles would actually have some use, even if a jet would only be able to cross the map in a little less time than an average lunch break.
One of the writers on NCIS was apparently a GTA3 fan. A young witness states a car used in a hit and run was a Kuruma, Gibbs thinks is a mislead because that is just the Japanese word for car, but one of the other characters points out that it is a name of a car in GTA3 and that it looks like a 90s Chrysler Sebring, which is correct. This show is so bad, I have no idea why I used to like it
Yeah but imagine the disk space, the load times, the ram usage, and the amount of level designers required to make a city that doesn't look like a copy paste on every block.
Doesn't have to be one city. Make it a bunch of Los Santos scale cities connected by highways, country roads and mountain passes. As for the RAM and disk usage... Again, FUEL. That game came on a single DVD for Xbox 360, and had one of the biggest 3D game worlds ever (5560mi²). Also Just Cause 2 (only 400mi², but still, GTAV is only 100mi²)
If every game of Last Team Standing is going to be like this, then I'm never playing it again. I've spent forty minutes now just sitting here waiting for this game to end. It won't ever end. It's 4v1 and all that happens is this one guy hides in cover and guns down anyone daring to try to get over to him. I can't leave, because apparently I'll be thrown into the time-out chair and not be able to play with normal people if I do. k i l l m e p l e a s e w h e n w i l l i t e n d
why do cars always ram the player on a T-crossing Why do the lights always turn red Who thought this would be a fun idea oh god how
Anyone know of tutorials or tips for character creation? Now that we can change our appearance i want to change my ol' balloonface character to something passable.
I'm starting to like the Juggernaut gamemode. It pays really well, and is over fairly quickly in my experience. I'm already at like 70-ish thousand from a few games of it. You don't even need to do terribly well to get a fair chunk of change. Also, why isn't vehicle insurance and vehicle tracking a thing in singleplayer? I love the muscle car that I stole, and I absolutely adore the fact that I can not only replace it, but I can keep it after replacing it for a casual night on the town, and in the future when I'm rich as balls, I can break it out instead of something like the Adder in order to maintain a low profile.

All I can find on Steam is a Demo and clicking on that goes the front page of Steam Store for some reason.
it used gfwl, rather than updating it when gfwl went away they just killed the product and stopped selling it
DiRT 2 is GFWL, it was removed too but it still works fine.
why do cars always ram the player on a T-crossing Why do the lights always turn red Who thought this would be a fun idea oh god how
I have this theory that the game is aware when you are pressing the gas button or key. When I'm crossing an intersection and there is a car coming from the right side, if I hit the gas the car starts matching my speed and de both crash. If I release the gas before crossing and let the car slow down by itself, the car coming will stop and let me pass. I have seen cars suddenly driving at hyper speeds when using the turbine of the Rocket Voltic while driving through an intersection. It looks hilarious, it's like if the NPC had passed through an invisible turbo bump. (Like those things in Diddy Kong Racing) When driving through busy roads, if I release the gas, NPCs stop making turns too.
Seems the servers are down on PC, anyone else getting this?
Seems the servers are down on PC, anyone else getting this?
Rockstar Support is listing it as down on their server status page. Not sure what the reason for only PC being down is though.
Ya know there is a modder in the server when you exit your condo and half the server is outside, in passive mode and there's a bunch of fancy cars spawned on the road. Oh and when you see briefcases full of $2000 everywhere. Also come to think of it, I'm pretty sure each briefcase is just 2000 $1 bills.
Fucking wow. I was stealing a T20, and when I was backing out, I accidentally broke the door off. Instant $4000 repair fee. :v:
Gotta love it when the AI drivers crash into the car you're trying to steal causing damages
Best thing is when you get a top range vehicle and as soon as you grab it the server lags you out :suicide:
Is there a point where it's cheaper to just blow the car up and force a fail of the mission rather than return to the warehouse, or all the thousand dollar expenses worth it in the end?
Is there a point where it's cheaper to just blow the car up and force a fail of the mission rather than return to the warehouse, or all the thousand dollar expenses worth it in the end?
Yeah, it's a good idea to blow up the vehicle you were stealing if you get enough damage to not make the selling run profit. I usually do this on the barge missions where you need a cargobob since I've been very unlucky with Buzzard wrecks falling on top of the vehicle I needed to steal.
I've noticed that sometimes the cargobob glitches out and drops the car you're carrying at random moments, which is TOTAL bullshit. I ended up racking up $14,000 worth of damage from that and just blew up the car and quit the game.
why do cars always ram the player on a T-crossing Why do the lights always turn red Who thought this would be a fun idea oh god how
Fun fact: the game's hardcoded it such that if you've driven for too long without crashing, the AI will deliberately manoeuvre to crash into you. Yet another brilliant idea from the developer that sees no problem with animals being able to report crimes.

That was really annoying.

Does this explain why sometimes random cars will suddenly turn Mad Max on me?
I think the dickery in driving was purposefully put in place for satire purposes. [editline]4[/editline] a lot of the games humor is mostly just taking a sterotype and amplifying it by a thousand

I've seen a bunch of people make this claim, but I haven't really seen any hard evidence to back it up.
