I've never had this happen, or never noticed this happen at least.

Ditto, autosave's saved me a ton of progress when I accidentally click outside of EG.
Dunno why, but EG really hates being tabbed out of, crashes for me everytime.
God damn it guys.
I've got to reinstall this now.

You do understand that anything above level 2 means only your evil genius and henchmen can enter. So if its the vault and the Freezer, you're not going to get shit done.
I really hope Evil Genius 2 is announced soon. Rebellion have said recently they are making it, although they did say we'd hear about it by the end of last year and that didn't happen.
If it becomes a microtransaction riddled mobile game.
The blood will flow like RIVERS

Not true, actually.

I usually have a separate treasury room in Shen's offices, where only he can use it and admire all the gold. Then I make a 1x2 room in the barracks and put the briefcase rack there, and when the base expands I'll do more of these 1x2 rooms. The gold and the racks don't need to be in the same room.
Man I still play this on my laptop during long breaks at uni,
best game all years

Play in borderless fullscreen and you won't crash.

Put the mouse maze in the middle and have another row of punching bags on the back wall, use that space more efficiently
Prehaps it would be a good idea include links to the more popular mods somewhere, there was a post with them in the other thread but some of them don't work anymore.
I'm going to have to play some Evil Genius again now.

Ah, i completely missed that. I was thinking of something more along the lones of what there was in the last thread - a picture of each mod with a description and a link.
this is the best patch for steam version

Thanks guys, now I'm reinstalling this.
ok this is killing me, how do I build a camo base entrance? I thought it was as easy as building a shack ontop of an entrance, but nothing gives.

Do you actually have a "Camo base entrance" object? You need to actually unlock that, you'll find out how by just playing the game and completing objectives (shouldn't take long). If you just have the "shack" object in your build menu that doesn't count.
For the record I don't think "camo" objects are very useful. The entrances end up opening all the time from my dudes getting gold or going on missions so it's pretty obvious that there's an evil lair in the mountain. Hotels kinda suck too, agents end up shooting them up for no reason and it's easier to kill or weaken tourists than to staff a reasonably sized hotel.

I never fucking thought of this and I have no idea why. I spent ridiculous amounts of time trying to up the efficiency of my purchases.
Oh, here's a tip for anyone who hasn't reached saboteurs yet. Do not ever make a floor tile unreachable. It's fine if you build something on the floor tile, but if agents are unable to path to a tile due to obstructions, - doors don't count - they will tunnel into your base. With saboteurs and soldiers, this can mean large amounts of bombs in very important places. Like your power plant. Which I have had happen.

No I don't have it, where can I find it?
No I don't have it, where can I find it?
Without spoiling it, just continue through the game. You'll probably know how you'll be able to find it.

But how am I suppose to keep the tourist out?
Well then again I prolly shouldn't have build a hotel nearby my one and only entrance on island 1.
Here are the mods I mentioned earlier:

[editline]29th May 2014[/editline]
There's also a Bonus CD floating around that includes new missions and a new henchman. I'd upload it but I dunno if that'd count as warez so I'm not gonna risk it.
No idea what most of these do.
Camo base entrances are largely non-useful, to be honest. You can't build them over any normal base entrances for one, - which also can't be demolished - and for two you're basically always going to have the damned thing open as minions constantly bring in loot, items, construction materials, etc..

To be honest? I don't. I just let them freak out and if they die, they die. Sometimes they see some shit and I have to kill them. Not a big deal. Hotels are a giant waste of time and resources, in my opinion. Better to set a few huts outside with doors set to 3 with just a barracks in them with lockers for extra minions. A lot of agents will spend a chunk of their time trying to open the doors only to either fail or find nothing strange.
Probably the best decision I ever made was having wind turbine traps made up that simply blow people out of your base. Most Agents will constantly trigger them, as will tourists which means they'll spend all their time trying to walk in through your front door but getting a face full of wind instead.
It's way easier to keep people out than deal with intruders.

This isn't really feasible in the long run since your own minions can trigger traps which can cause headaches.
No idea what most of these do.
Guess you'll have to read the readme's then.
if there is a sequel, they either need to fix the AI, try to make hiding your entrance easier, or just fuck the tourists entirely.
So, as this thread continues to pop up time after time, I can't help but wonder...
With all the remakes, WAYY late successors (HL3/Prey/etc.), and re-imaginations of games we've all known and loved, where is the Evil Genius?
This isn't really feasible in the long run since your own minions can trigger traps which can cause headaches.
It's plenty feasible in the long run, I had a 3-hallway long wind trap that did just that. It was irritating sure, but it worked just fine and I only had to deactivate it when I had something critical coming in or going out.

No need to be rude. A lot of them don't have readmes.

Don't know what you want me to say or do, I downloaded them ages ago. You'll just have to experiment.

Are you running a modded population? Because when you've got 500 guys running around like I do then it's just a hassle.
I just have everyone shot on sight...
