I just don't want to be the "kill every fucking thing that moves" villain.
I want to be the sneaky, coniving villain, that prefers no one to find out at all.
To not use the Hotel, and kill all agents and tourists is to take the fun out of being a true Evil Genius.
the hotel is literally useless
the hotel is literally useless
Worse than useless, to be honest. It ties up all your social minions for virtually no gain. Tourists will still wander around, and agents - especially soldiers - will occasionally wander through and just destroy everything.

A waste of power and money.

Then either the next game better have a way to take care of tourists and enemy agents, or just fuck the tourists all together.

You know we heard alot of bad talk about the facebook game, but has anyone here actually played it? Does it have any ups over the original at all?
I think i ran into a bug with the "better living through chemistry" objective where you have to [sp]get the agents to steal the fake research machine[/sp]. Everything went exactly as planned, but when the agent with it left the island, nothing happened. I can't build another one, and the objective isn't marked as complete.
did he reach his country?
did he reach his country?
The objective is completed after he leaves the island.
Maybe the agent died and the backpack was lost, a henchman might've moved your fake research machine into your real lab.

With one of the mods you can place any room you want in it, though. It's kinda useful if you do that.

Is link to that mod in OP?

Everything you need is on that n1nja/EvilPlanet website

If EG2 ever exists your base should be below the hotel / casino, you can have outside entrances or via the casino. Plus that makes it more James Bond-y with agents going to gamble and then stumbling upon your liar. Your evil genius could even go gamble. And then tourists shouldn't wander as much.
I bought this on sale last year
Should I give it a shot?

Uh, yeah.

Definitely. It's an awesome game.
Ended up spending most of the day learning how to design the base, managed to get a design i actually liked and then my power generators got blown the fuck up, leaving me in the dark and because of my heavy planning, i didnt have enough money. GG WP, need to start making mercenaries as soon as possable since i'd imagine they bring in the dosh more than regular minions.
Can you put bunk beds against the wall with one node open or do you need both nodes open?

One side can be against a wall. Filled green boot marks mean this square needs to be empty, empty boots marks mean that the square should be empty for optimal use but it isn't necessary.

Normally when i play at the start of the game i just use minions to gather lots of money before they can be found on the map easily or there is anyone on the island. You can have pretty much all your minions just getting you money.
the hotel is literally useless
Not if you're playing on hard, and they're only useful once you have two or three so tourists continuously bounce between them. Just have a reception and a billion benches/dancefloors so your minions are tied up less.
Never learned how to set up a security system. No one mans the desks 90% of the time even with a card machine. Dunno what's the number is about either.

I've heard that if you install time clocks, and set them to red, social minions won't putz around in the hotel.

That was it, thanks.

Well yeah, but then what's the point having the hotel? It's there to have your social minions entertain tourists, generate a tiny amount of income, - as I recall, I could be remembering that part wrong - and give the agents something legitimate to waste time investigating. Unfortunately it's a thousand times easier and more efficient to just let everyone wander around and use 3-security doors with nothing incriminating behind them to tie up the agents.

The numbers/color designates which feed the camera and desk are a part of. In theory it'd allow you to set up multiple feeds for different security purposes, but in reality it's not really beneficial to have more than maybe two feeds at a time.
To force minions to man any object, have your avatar interact with it. It'll start to glow and minions will prioritize manning that object over any other activity. That's what I do for my desks.
The more I try to build and think of base designs, and think about the suggestions I get here, the more frustrated I get, and the more I don't want to play because I can't think of a cost effective way to design the base without cheating.

I've never seen more than 2 or 3 tourists wander around in a hotel and when they do they just walk around doing fuck all most times then wander into my base. In which case I just shoot them anyway.
I've had a fully decked out hotel with literally everything you could put in it on the second island and nobody fucking used it except my own minions.
What a fucking waste.

Cheating in what way? I've designed plenty of bases that weren't built upon cheating, unless you mean 'cheating' as in 'not using the hotel.'

Nobody's gonna really care if you cheat.

the cheat codes to get extra money.
[sp]While ingame type humanzee then Ctrl+C.[/sp]

Yeah I'm aware of that cheat, but it's highly unneeded. I've beat the game just fine without using any cheats. It takes longer, but it's a lot more fun.

You know what, maybe I should take pics of my current base and PM you, and ask if I'm doing something wrong or not.
Just had to restart my island because SMASH decided to send 7 Soldiers to my island who started killing all my minions on sight. Apparently they didn't like me stealing from them. They came into my base and started killing minions in the corridors so I got my hechman (Eli) to gather minions to go counter the attack but it ended badly because the soldiers were in such a position that the second any of my guys came around the corner to attack them, they were killed instantly. I was only up the second objective (get the crime lords) so it is no big loss plus my base had some bad design choices as well.
I might as well post my current base, and ask my fellow Geniuses if I'm doing anything wrong.

Beginning Stronghold, now a level 3 door corridor.

Exit towards helipad along with control room.

Holding Cells.
SO, am I doing anything wrong? I have all but 11 people and Lord Kane out collecting money thanks to the maid exploit.

I hate it when they get those chokepoints. Only real way to counter them is setting it to red alert and hoping they fuck up. Sometimes just waiting them out. Pretty shitty.
