So, for a long time I've been playing most of the Persona games on anything but the highest difficulty. When I bought Q recently I thought it was going to be the same ordeal where laziness and not well set up teams even on slightly easier difficulties would still slay you magnificently, but I was amazed to find out that every difficulty but the hardest is now even easier than playing on fucking safety mode from the previous games. I don't know if I'm happy about having a casual experience like this.
Did you use Naoto? She just makes early game feel too easy.

I dropped Naoto as soon as possible, cuz' I hate her so much. My team is Aigis, Yukari, Mitsuru, Akihiko, and Yu at the moment.

I also think Marie is an actually well developed and suited character, and her inclusion in the anime was top notch.

I don't hate her per se, but she is definately my least favourite character from the p4 main cast. It just feels like she takes too much of the spotlight after she gets introduced. i get that she was needed for solving the mystery but it still left a sour taste in my mouth.
I'm pretty new to the persona series, i picked up 3FES on PSN a few months ago, played it, it became one of my top 5 games all time. Just finished persona 4 and now I've got a little project i'm working on.
Basically, I'm gonna try and calculate/plan a route through the game. Here's where it gets kinda vague. I haven't set any restrictions on this run because i'm not sure how to define it. Either I want to go for a sort of "efficiency run", or do SOMETHING LIKE a speedrun. (dont get me wrong im not stupid enough to think one person could run p4 in one sitting regardless of what tricks you use).
Right now i'm getting together a spreadsheet containing all of the personas of 4 and their stats that i think will be important for the run. I'm gonna analyze their overall usefulness using a little calculation program i'm coding to see which one has the "best value" for whatever level range i happen to find myself at when i hit the dungeons.
Basically i'm gonna try and plan some intricate perfect-ish run of Persona 4 vanilla and i'll keep you guys updated and i encourage u guys to help me out here, i may miss some things or have dumb ideas. I swear i'm not autistic i'm just a bored college kid : )

perhaps the reason people are not fond of her character, that is to say the crux of why certain individuals do not appreciate naoto shirogane as a character is partially due to the verbose, eloquent and sesquipedalian way she talks, which often leads to her dialogue being long winded and wordy. although a large vocabulary is not a bad characteristic for someone to have, it seems to mostly exist as a way to distract from the larger issue of her character that although naoto shirogane is touted as a detective, she does very little work actually befitting a detective. allow me to demonstrate; often at many points in the story of Persona 4 (or Persona 4 The Golden, or Persona 4 The Animation, which will all henceforth be referred to simply as Persona 4 or P4) a character may make a deduction or estimated guess as to the nature of the crimes occurring in inaba. naoto often responds to these merely by repeating whatever the other character had said, but in a manner that is long winded and wordy. this reason, i believe, makes up much of why for some individuals naoto shirogane is not an enjoyable character, and depending on how much these issues affect this may lead people to even hate naoto.

I love it so much every time I played P3P I would skip Soul Phrase, sit at the main menu until Burn My Dread started, watch it, then start playing. It and Unbreakable Tie are the two best Persona openings IMO.
even though the golden animation was shit barring "naoto: the chrimbus episode" and soonafter "naoto on the ski trip and absolutely nothing else" i loved the intro song
the 2nd intro for the original persona 4 animation was pretty slick too, that and persona q

so far i've got a spreadsheet together with all the personas, their weaknesses, and their "effective max level"s. i'm running that data thru a formula that basically checks their affinities and their effective max level and assigns them a score based on that, kinda gives an idea of how strong they roughly are and whether i can use them for a while without levelling into shit skills. it's all on google docs so once i finish with the max levels and overall "value scores" or whatever i'll post it : )
Man I've lost almost all enthusiasm for playing PQ for a while.
I really wanna continue because the story is just starting to pick up and I've already got my own theories about things that are going on, but since I lost all my map data, I'll have to re-draw [I]everything[/I] and that's going to make NG+ even more of a bitch.
Oh well. I had a lot of fun with it while I did play. I'll probably get back to it eventually, but god damn is this frustrating.

Oh no, but thanks for the offer. I just found out that GameFAQs has all or at least most of the maps. I might use those since they seem really detailed. That could cut down on my downtime.
