Ugh, did Naoto really have do the gun thing with her fingers? I really don't like her dance style at all.

Isn't she the only one following the steps and everyone else is just doing whatever?
Eh, I've never been able to like Naoto. She always seems so bland to me. Her new voice sounding like she has a permanent cold doesn't help either.
Damn, i've been realy hooked on Persona 2: Innocent Sin lately. Took awhile to get going, but once I got the hang of the gameplay and the story picked up it made it so I have a very hard time putting it down. I love all the party members and this story is just batshit crazy but in the best way

I think you're just finding more reasons to dislike Naoto to be honest, her dance isn't any worse than the other character's dances
I just don't like that I'll be forced to play as her for a few songs. I mean I can understand why it's like that. But it really dampened my hype for the game.

I mean i can understand disliking naoto but i think you can handle looking at naoto for 3 minutes at a time, letting that dampen your enjoyment that severely is a little overboard
Plus it's a rhythm game, you're not really "playing" as anyone so much as you are watching someone

It's not just about having to look at naoto for ~3 songs, it's about having no freedom at all in choosing your main dance.
And yes I'll live but I think it's fair to be a bit disappointed in that.

Considering that that's never been a thing in Project Diva I dunno why you expected otherwise
I don't really think that's fair to be disappointed in since nothing to the contrary was ever noted in the first place, it's pretty much a project diva game with Persona characters, that's exactly what you're getting, so of course you're gonna have to do dances with Naoto at some point. There's probably way more dances in the game featuring Yu, Rise, and Kanamin. Every character gets exclusive dances, so getting upset that Naoto has some is really kinda silly.
The dances are also likely story based and probably specifically tuned to each character, so I dunno how or why you'd expect them to let you pick whoever you want.

Persona 2 is easily my favorite Persona game. Not a fan of the gameplay, or rather the nigh-constant random encounters, but it's fantastic in literally every other way. I've said it before but I'd love if 5 could be more like it, though I really doubt that'll happen. The rumor system and the insanity it leads to is just so great, and IMO it looks better than 3 and 4 as I prefer the sprites and art. I'm not really a fan of the shiny P3-P4 art.

It's okay, I don't like her either. She is an absurd Mary Sue IMO. She is, in canon, the prettiest, smartest, better than the police at their own jobs (and at such a young age, what a prodigy), has the biggest tits, every guy and girl is both equally into her, and she even gets to have a gun, for some reason. For me the worst of it was either when you're doing the negotiation with [sp]Namatame[/sp] and the game railroads you into choosing the one option you know will set him off despite the other two making more sense, only for Naoto to say what you literally just said but it works for her since she's Naoto, or maybe it was when she's like [sp]Yeah I knew it was Adachi all along[/sp] after you find out despite never bringing it up prior, since she's Naoto, the based GOAT prodigy. She's also ridiculously good in The Golden with her skill-set, so as much as I dislike her, I just kind of bring her along anyways. She's a big part of why I dislike 4 so much overall. People get really upset whenever you say anything negative about Persona 4 though, since it's by far the most popular, which is why I tend to just stay away from MegaTen discussions as it always just boils down to P4 talk and waifu wars and me being some grumpy dude no one likes.
I've been playing more Digital Devil Saga. It'd be pitch perfect for my tastes if it didn't have random encounters. I love the moody atmosphere, art direction, and music.

I can't really say it looks better or worse than P3 or P4. It looks like Persona 2 and that's really how I like it.

There's no right opinion and people are free to disagree with you if they don't feel the same way, and a lot of people don't see Naoto or P3 and P4 in the way you do. Ah, I understand that then. I think here most of us are pretty reasonable. In my mind its okay to dislike the games as long as you're respectful about it, like even if P3 is my favorite game I don't think people need to love it as much as I do

I liked Persona 3 a lot more than 4. It's overall pretty solid for what it is and I like the characters. I was actually getting ready to start a playthrough as a girl for the first time. I just wish it didn't have Aigis in it, or rather her role was greatly reduced. She is a huge sticking point for me.
