Not only that, they're called Hold Ups and are done while holding a gun to the enemy. Gotta love those extra touches. Stop being a pussy.
Yeah, it seems like it's embedded in the all-out-attack system (or whatever they choose to call them in this game) as well. I wonder if it'll be streamlined a bit, because it didn't seem like they did much careful picking and choosing in that demo... Though they were blowing through everything pretty fast there anyways. I wouldn't really mind much if it were just a 'come with me or die' situation anyways... Not as if it's less complex than collecting personas through the after battle card system.
Come on guys its fine. It could be better sure but its really not that bad.
Come on guys its fine. It could be better sure but its really not that bad.
Even if it was good I wouldn't want to listen to it. But it's bad and we've got no choice but to listen to it
it's better than Teddy
Teddie's voice was fine. It fits his cartoony and energetic facade. This is just awful. PBS kids shows have better voice acting than this.
Teddie's voice was fine. It fits his cartoony and energetic facade.
I'm on board with this. He was annoying as shit but it fitted. With how the other characters acted, hating Teddy is basically canon
I remember before e3 I told my dad I couldn't wait to hear the new voice actors for Persona 5, because they have great voice acting (at least in p3 and p4) Guess how wrong I was...
I fucking love everything they've shown of the gameplay. It looks so damn sharp! There's so much stuff to point out, but among my favorites is how they handled the music. I hope this is how they do it in the full game also, and that it wasn't just the montage. The battle theme flowed in and out of the roaming song so smoothly @4:52, 5:52. On Morgana's English voice actress - I'll give Cassandra Lee Morris the benefit of the doubt. I liked her a lot as Fie in Trails of Cold Steel, and I'm curious to see how she'll handle a role that seems far more energetic. Hopefully she won't ham it up too much in the end product. All I'm saying is, they could've done FAR WORSE!
Managed to trade borrow away my WIIU for my cousins PS4, went out and preordered P5 Heart Edition. I'm so fucking ready mate.

Final game in English only Releases a subtitled trailer Fuck you AtlusUSA
I wonder if they have even started the english dub yet.
I know the spelling is wrong but I find it tragically hilarious that a company called Atlus is incapable of a global release with multiple languages
translating is fucking hard dude
translating is fucking hard dude
I'm talking about dual audio Atlas translations are usually pretty good imo
Just speculation on my part but I bet the reason why it's taking so long to localize the English version is because the Japanese team created their game engine without the English version in mind which makes it harder for the English team to rebuild assets and the likes. Though there is also the case where John Hardin thought it was gonna be released last year so who knows what the hell is going on between them
i remember reading something from a translator for rune factory 4 and he talked about how hard it was to come up with translations that were both accurate and would fit within the character constraints.
Or you could be like Nintendo Treehouse and replace everything with memes, infantile humor and heavy censorship.
I don't see what would need to be changed besides fonts and maybe variable width font support.
You underestimate how much shit you have to change when localizing a game.
Huh, they're actually doing it. "Caligula" is coming to the West in Spring 2017, courtesy of our dear friends at Atlus.
Caligula is an RPG written by Tadashi Satomi, the writer behind Persona, Persona 2: Innocent Sin, and Persona 2: Eternal Punishment. He was also responsible for the scenario in the Digital Devil Saga games. Caligula focuses around modern pathology and trauma, as a new “juvenile school RPG.” The game takes place around the virtual reality world of “Mobius,” revolving around nine men and women who seek to return to the real world from a virtual one set in high school. The title of the game is derived from the “Caligula Effect,” a term describing one’s significant desire for something they’re not permitted to have. The initial tagline for the game is “Can you kill an idol?”
Still pretty excited for this. Hopefully they can deliver on the premise, it sounds fascinating as fuck. Here are some song previews:
^E: Atlus doing Japanese audio? And it's a vita game, period. Holy fuck count me in [editline]18th June 2016[/editline] this channel is killing me holy shit
Teddie's voice was fine. It fits his cartoony and energetic facade. This is just awful. PBS kids shows have better voice acting than this.
Teddies' voice actually fits him. Morgana sounds nothing like a cat or "catty" in any sense of the word. She sounds just like any typical teenage girl in a cartoon. Sadly, it infuriates me that ATLUS will never ever give us Dual Audio. Because they are cheapskates and realize the licensing costs would be too over the top.
You underestimate how much shit you have to change when localizing a game.
Yeah, like making sure riceballs are jelly-filled donuts and such.
Understandable that overly japanese jokes/references will be changed, but I hope AtlusUSA doesn't do anything too cringey like a gamergate joke. With Cassandra Morris being the VA for Morgana, AtlusUSA once again uses someone who has done VA from previous Atlus titles(P4 Animation, P4: DAN, and an SMT game iirc). Hopefully Morgana will sound better in the game than at that E3 thing.
While waiting for P5, I wanted to play dangan ronpa 2. Is it worth playing? If its anything remotely like Hyperdimension Neptunia then forget it. Shit's a defintion of 'inane'. Gave moe a bad name

Shit's a defintion of 'inane'. Gave moe a bad name
Not even close to Neptunia. It's a great interactive visual novel. Steam might have it on sale during the summer sale, so you might want to save your money for it then.

Shit's a defintion of 'inane'. Gave moe a bad name
I dunno how much this means to you coming from a guy with an avatar from the series, but Danganronpa 1 and 2 are both absolutely worth playing. Why would you jump straight into 2, though? The Hyperdimension Neptunia games are very different from Danganronpa (1&2). The former's a JRPG series while the latter are more traditional visual novels. If you have no idea what the games are about, I thought this PC Gamer review did a pretty good job of summing the first one up spoiler-free, while also giving a rundown of what the relatively new PC port is like. (Totally fine.)
Danganronpa is one of the best story-driven games on PC. The scarcity of interaction, vast quantities of text, and glacial pace will turn a lot of people off, but the story is so compelling that I barely noticed that all I was doing was clicking through lines of dialogue. Monokuma is a deliciously evil villain and the crimes are brilliantly constructed. Just when you think you’ve figured them out, you’ll be blind-sided by some new piece of evidence. If you love adventure games and want to experience something different, Danganronpa is worth investigating.
So yeah, if you think you're up for the wild ride that is Danganronpa, definitely start with Trigger Happy Havoc instead. Otherwise you'll just ruin the story for yourself, which I would not recommend you do with such a story-driven series! And like Zet said, there's a good chance both games will be on sale next week, and so if you're still unsure you can mull it over until then! tl;dr: totally worth playing, the storytelling mechanic is the only thing they've got in common, play 1 first.

The best comparison for Danganronpa is probably Phoenix Wright. It's basically a more teen-focused and edgy Phoenix Wright game in it's core, but amazing nonetheless. At least that's the impression I got from it. I got sucked into watching a full DR1 and DR:UDG playthrough and I still need to play DR2 (thanks for reminding me I really need to play that game now it's on steam by the way) :v:
