The time is nigh! Let us cross our fingers, all those who hath not lost faith yet, in hoping that they're gonna do a great job with the casting! http://personacentral.com/atlus-usa-teases-upcoming-persona-5-dub-news/
Joker's so good at thieving that he even stole his own voice
persona 5 english voice cast http://www.ign.com/articles/2016/10/19/persona-5-english-voice-cast-revealed-2
That was bearable
I still hope the Japanese audio will be an option in the future, hell, even as as paid DLC.
Alright yeah, that list shows promise at least! Four out of the five actors and actresses listed I recognize from Trails of Cold Steel 1 & 2, and they all seem like solid choices. I dunno how many of y'all have played them, but I'm almost a hundred hours into the second one, so they're both fresh in my mind right now. Xander Mobus (the Protagonist) plays Gideon (1 - minor bad guy), Cassandra Morris (Morgana) plays Fie Claussell (1&2 - member of the main posse), Erica Lindbeck (Futaba) plays Vita Clotilde (1&2 - one of the main villains), and Xanthe Huynh (Haru) plays Altina Orion (2 - another minor baddie). Also The first voice heard in the trailer sounds a lot like Sean Chiplock, the protagonist in Cold Steel, but he's most likely playing a lesser role - one of the Social Links perhaps. And then there's also Matt Mercer who's really been on point lately. Sure he's back again in a way, but I'll give him a pass since, even though he did a great job as Kanji post-Baker, you could say this is the first time he's getting a character of his own. EDIT: Scratch that. According to this tweet, SEVEN out of the nine announced VAs play a role in the Trails games, Erika Harlacher and Cherami Leigh are the only ones who don't. So, if you'd like to hear most of the Phantom Thieves at work before February, consider giving those games a try! While I still personally prefer Trails in the Sky 1&2, the Trails of Cold Steel games are also filled with the charming writing and excellent combat the Legend of Heroes series is known for. They're also very clearly inspired by Persona 3 and 4. So much so that they've got a Social Link system of their own. Both games clock in at around 50-100 hours each, so they should do a decent job of distracting you from the fact that Feb 14th is still like four months away. Add to that the Trails in the Sky games (which I'd actually recommend playing first since the games are connected and those came first), and there's nearly 400 hours of JRPG goodness up for grabs! One last thing before I stop gushing about this entirely different game series: the soundtracks are filled with ripping guitar. [t]http://i.imgur.com/YjJ5gS2.png[/t] Well, that was a fuckin' hell of a journey that lasted a good 200 hours. SOLID 9/10 game, seriously looking forward to Persona 5 now. (Just need to try and be spoiler free as possible now.) Now I'm debating to myself i should play 4 now or have a break from Persona till 5 comes out. I've been spoilered more with 4 than 3, somehow.

Oh what the fuck lol. This is what I get for looking at it on a small screen.
Ann's English trailer! It's alright! Seeing as the last character trailer came out a week ago, I guess we can start expecting one to hit each week going forward.
I feel like she sounds like a different character, maybe that's just me.
I feel like she sounds like a different character, maybe that's just me.
When compared to her Japanese voice actress, you mean? We'll see, but I think her voice fits. It's tough to tell from a few short lines.
Well, that was a fuckin' hell of a journey that lasted a good 200 hours. I played through both in a relatively short span of time, and had a GREAT time, but I also didn't have a third, very similar game looming over me at the time. I'd say go for it. You might burn out on the Persona goodness if you insist on doing everything possible, so maybe don't do that. But if that's how you play like to JRPGs, I can respect that. I think it'd still be worth it for all of the possible nods to 4 that 5 might, and does have. I'm about 10 hours into P5, and I've already bumped into a couple. And when I did, I just had the largest, dumbest smile on my face for the longest time. I also can't understand like 80% of the stuff they're saying so it's totally possible I've already missed some others. Also, were you planning on playing through Vanilla or Golden? They're similar beasts in terms of length, but depending on your choice you might appreciate the changes and improvements they've made in 5 in terms of design even more.

I'm also thinking about starting on Persona 4 at the start of the November. I'll have to ask my buddy, but i think i could easily go through P4 in what, 4 months?
i think i could easily go through P4 in what, 4 months?
Totally, unless you're playing like an hour a day, in which case it'll take you like eight!
I'm fairly sure i wouldn't be missing anything from Golden.
There are a ton of improvements, and I personally think all for the better, but if you're dead set on that version, just don't look them up and you're GOLDEN. Ignorance is bliss, as they say! Vanilla P4 is a solid game, and I think you'll have a lot of fun despite of what might've been spoiled for you already. Report back at least once you're done, if you wouldn't mind. I'd love to hear how the whole game holds up in 2016 (or 2017)!

Not my fucking playthroughs I tell you what) around 85-90 hours, holy fuck my kids will inherit this game

Suits her really well in my opinion. I was a little worried they might give her a voice that'd be too close to Rise or something, but this I think gives her a good enough character to keep her as her own. If the dub's as good as SMTIV Apocalypse's was in general, I won't have many complaints. I mean, the story is overall the same, but all the extra events and gameplay features make it way better and a more definitive experience to me. Either way though, regardless of what you choose, I'm certain you should be able to beat it before P5 comes out if you get it in November.
Isn't that one ending also only in Golden
Isn't that one ending also only in Golden
The Accomplice ending and the Golden ending are only in Golden yeah, though Accomplice is the only real new ending. Golden is just more of an extension of the true one
The Accomplice ending and the Golden ending are only in Golden yeah, though Accomplice is the only real new ending. Golden is just more of an extension of the true one
Yeah I was referring to the accomplice ending

During this interview the VA said Ann's voice was basically her own voice but higher. Well thank god she was somehow wrong about that, because this is actually really good. In fact I prefer it over the Japanese mascot-tier voice.
New week, new trailer! This one's for Ryuji Sa-KAH-moto Mittelman sounds fine, but I personally only have eyes (and ears) for Mamoru Miyano-sama.
Yeah I prefer Ryuji's original VA. Mittelman is fine, but it's not as good a fit as he was for Hallelujah. Plus Ryuji's original VA was also Okabe from Steins;gate so i cant help but have a bias towards him
Ryuji sounds pretty good to me.
Some of you guys might find this interesting, but this is an article talking about the localization of Nocturne. Really fascinating stuff http://personacentral.com/nocturnal-revelations-the-legacy-of-shin-megami-tenseis-first-localization-part-1/

It's going to be hard to remember that Morgana is male with the english dub.
It's going to be hard to remember that Morgana is male with the english dub.
It's the kind of voice that could either belong to a woman or a 10 year old boy.
I don't really see the problem with Morgana's English voice, sounds fine to me I thought his original voice too also sounded mostly female, so this isn't much different for me
