Megami Tensei Series [Spoilers Inside] - Arrested for Youtube crimes
So, do I just not understand something about Japan.
[sp]The Protag's crime is public knowledge? Okay, two things. If they know what he did, then why are they so shitty about what happened? Like, they know he was defending a woman.
Or two, and this is what gets me, why does -anyone- know about his crime? He's a fucking minor. Unless I'm wrong and Japan's treatment of young offenders is so fucking backwards that nearly everywhere else looks progressive.[/sp]
[SP]Kamoshima leaked the info to the students as far as the school goes. Also I think it was because he used excessive force or something. That and ignorant adults and all that.[/SP]
Jesus FUCK this game gets dark fast.
So far it's been pretty much exactly what I wanted the game to be.
Thank you atlus for making a miracle come true for me
Okay I like Igor's new voice. I think it's really good and the VA for it has talent.
I just don't think it fits Igor at all.
Like it's fine if they didn't wanna go for a 1:1 soundalike but making it this deep just alienates me super hard and I'm curious as to why they chose to make it this different and absurd.
I'm pretty sure they chose it since his VA in japan was significantly different as well for P5, so they probably wanted to mimic the change.
It's like a night and day difference even in japanese
http://atlus.com/note-persona-5-streaming/
this is so archaic
They even specify an ingame date that could get you hit with account suspension if you stream past that point
Oh lord [sp]The game's explanation on how you get away with having weapons, as well as how you can keep getting more powerful ones is brilliant.[/sp]
As archaic as it is, at least they are being very black and white about their policy. I don't support it but I appreciate them giving exactly what their restrictions are before they will consider action.
How's everyone liking the Dub so far? I'm only past the prologue mission with JP audio so switching won't be an issue. I didn't have any problems with P3/P4 dubs though its not like players really had a choice with those games.

I really am enjoying it so far, just as solid as the previous dubs imo. While some key VA's from previous games have gotten reused, mostly Yukari's voice actress, the performance is different enough to separate them from who they played before imo.
The only one I think will be a real sticking point for old fans is probably Igor just cuz of how different he sounds. I personally am okay with it though, but I definitely miss old Igor.

Oh yeah I didn't get to post these till now, but here are the last couple FF style edits I did in celebration of P5, hope you guys like em

I've been playing this game since 11am EST, it's now almost midnight EST. Help. I need to go to the bathroom but I can't stop.

Oh wait I have a Vita, I can stream it to my Vita.
Dub is super good so far outside Igor yeah. I just can't get used to it after spending so many games with a softer voice.
Also finished the first dungeon and man, I genuinely wouldn't blame anyone if they had to bump it down to easy for it because the difficulty seems kind of absurd at the start.
I'm sure the games going to get easier like all the other ones but sheesh
My impressions only ~5 hours in is very positive, and I still feel like I'm in the introduction phase. The locations feel so large and real compared to Persona 4, but still feel as intricately detailed as small Inaba was. I like how there are lots of people about, and really like how there's the detailess manaquin like NPCs to simulate crowds.
I like the dub a lot so far. Morgana is not annoying at all, which was a slight worry to me since we first heard her. Everyone sounds good to me at this point.
Also remote play rocks on this game!
Edit: New Igor surprised me at first. I miss the old one, but the new voice is pretty cool now that I'm used to it.

Him* Morgana is male.
For reals? Well thanks for correcting me now.
Sadayo Kawakami's sex hair is giving me mad Amagami vibes. Also I really appreciate the effort put into the setting, walking through the train stations makes me remember my trip a couple years ago to Tokyo. So far loving the game, even if I don't really play JRPG's much anymore.

to be honest i just mute the game when he shows up and i just imagine the dialogue in his older voice
I thought morgana was a car

A bus*
Oh my, i gotta play more of this. I haven't really watched or seen anything aside from the original trailer so im pretty much completely blind. So maybe i'll stay away from this thread as i nibble on this instead of wolfing it down
New Igor sounds... It's not quite what i had in mind after Persona 3. Didnt the voice actor for him die some time ago?

Japanese voice actor died so they recast him. AtlusUSA apparently felt the need to recast him as well to reflect it.
I am glad we finally have a cast on the level [sp] of the P3 cast and earlier. The P4 cast not even being strong enough to summon in the real world is weird[/sp]
To be honest I wouldn't call the P3 cast that strong. Unless you mean physically.
I don't hate the characters but some of them really feel undeveloped, and all the social links kinda suck ass (hey everyone it's [fat kid who likes to eat] [[aka me]])
Is Akihiko still the only character who can summon a persona without any outside help? He doesn't even use an evoker by the time that P4A happens
Is there an actual fatigue mechanic in the dungeons still? I can't tell.
Nah, that's dead.
Replaced with an alert meter. If it goes up to 100%, you reset at the castle gates.
Encourages ambushing opponents.
Which isn't even hard to do. I've yet to go anywhere past 10% in either of the first 2 dungeons.
Replaced with an alert meter. If it goes up to 100%, you reset at the castle gates.

And otherwise it's also Persona 4-style, where you're limited by SP and supplies. Especially for [sp]guns[/sp]
I see that this game continues the trend of [sp]It being really fucking weird that the Shadow Operatives aren't showing up, considering from point 1 there are overt references to the game taking place in the same universe as the other games.[/sp]

[sp]I don't really see it being weird in this case since you only are gonna see shadows in Tokyo if you have the Metaverse Navigator. There's not really any reason for the Shadow Ops to know anything about what's going on at this point, and the cops don't believe in anything paranormal given the interrogator's responses to you.[/sp]

I wouldn't call that a replacement for it at all. It's just a punishment for not being stealthy like you should be. Fatigue in P3 would cause your character to be massively weaker in battle and shit, alertness doesn't really cause that.
fucking (5/7 spoilers) [sp]cat bus what the hell[/sp] lmao
Jesus fucking christ [sp]The first boss is ridiculous[/sp]
