Just got out of the second dungeon, I'm glad it got more challenging. I don't know how much time I wasted selecting a name for characters in Dark Souls.

The modern Persona games feel like they all hit the perfect spot in normal difficulty for me. I really hate having to research if a JRPG is too easy on its default difficulty or if the game has some bullshit that makes harder modes just more tedious than challenging. It doesn't sound like you can do it much in 5, but I really loved trying to solve P4 dungeons in a single day (or at least just reaching the boss room) by the skin of my teeth. The Etrian Odyssey games are the only other games that I like dealing with managing your resources.

It's still possible to clear major dungeons ahead of time, even on your first try depending on how much you grind and your supplies, it's just that (mechanics spoiler) [sp]when you send the calling card to basically declare that you're going to end a Palace, you'll spend two days preparing before carrying out the mark for real,[/sp] which has caught more than a few players off-guard and forced a pretty large setback. Infact it's encouraged to a degree by game mechanics to deal with Palaces faster so you have more time for social links and such.

i started playing devil summoner - raidou kuzunoha vs the soulless army and it makes me wonder why atlus only made 2 games out of the whole smt franchise with real-time action gameplay.

Started on Hard because I beat Persona 4 Golden pretty easily on normal. Game is really beautiful and fun. That is, until 4th fight right at the beginning of the game, right after learning about (early gameplay mechanic spoiler)[sp]Security Level in Palaces[/sp], ambushed the enemy, two flower gals. Attacked with MC and teammate, take one down to 1/3 it's life. They attack and the first one crits me, does a 1-more and [B]crits me again[/B], second one attacks me and I die. Wow, this game sure is hard.

I've gotten killed like 5 times already on the third dungeon. It's a bit frustrating :c I'll get past it though. Either way, I dunno how many ways I can say it but my god this game is a real treat

It genuinely feels like they went "whew got all that nice happy junk out of our system with the P4 franchise, let's go back to our roots" and the roots all have knives and are trying to stab you

I haven't played Persona 4 yet but from what ive been told, it is essentially a Scooby Doo series. Can i just mention how fucking beautiful the school is? Because it's fucking beautiful. So is all the other environments, i only wish there was a first person view. The animations are superb too.

P4 being called Scooby Doo is basically just fans of the more dark themes completely ignoring like half the plot of the game. Sure, the game comes off as lighthearted but the stuff that the characters have to deal with borders on horrific

Persona 4 is weird because half the game is a psychological murder mystery along with characters with some pretty deep-seated issues in some ways. The other half is ridiculous anime tropes and high school nuttiness while the game blares a happy-go-lucky tone and the interface sports all sorts of bright colors. It's like looking at the ugliness of humanity while having a bright light shining almost the entire time. Persona 5 has its light-hearted moments, but in comparison the characters serve more as the contrast to the situations, and bad situations are not only often darker but litter far more of the overall serving while still having the long-term idea of optimism to try to win out in the end.

P5 feels like it was advertised to be way more light hearted. Like five minutes in the game completely contradicts that

logged about 11 hours so far, fucking love this game.

I feel like the game is a tad more aggressive in it's dialogue and tone but overall it's still light enough. It's a good balance to be honest.

I can't ever bring myself to skip the intro... the song is so good and the visuals are so stylish. I watch the whole thing every time I boot the game. I need help.
