Still working on the first dungeon and I'm still loving it. The game really can punish you though. An enemy I had not encountered before tanked all my attacks then hit MC one time with a weakness and koed him with one hit from full health.
This is on normal I can't imagine hard lmao

Hard seems fine so far but i only just got my training wheels taken off.
Im not sure if P5 has them but in P3 you have enemies with insta kill Light or Dark attacks, which are bloody terrifying at the early to mid game since all it needs is a roll of the dice to wipe away a good dungeon run.
Said Insta Kill attacks would often never hit when you try to use them, of course. It felt like a 9/10 chance i'd get hit by one and the same chances for it to miss.
Even still, SP is love, SP is life. I think i'll be using more elemental weapons this time around since SP is quite limited, and sp restoration items aee even more so.
Also, THANK GOD for the quality of life changes. Especially in the Velvet Room.

All Persona games have had instakill attacks AFAIK. P5 has them too, Hamaon and Mudoon although they added 2 new types of damage besides those too. Nuclear damage (Frei, Freila, Freiga), Psychic (not sure how these progress as far as naming goes) and then on top of that they added "damage" variants of the instakill moves Hamaon and Mudoon rather than just straight up 1 shots.

i can't wait to romance makoto because i like imagining (very minor spoilers for a few months in, not a huge reveal at all but tagging just in case) [sp]the look on sae's face when protag says "...aaand that's how we stole so-and-so's heart. anyway, next up is that one time when i fucked your sister"[/sp]

(final party personas) [sp]All of them have weird final transformations. Haru and Ryuji's are pretty radical though.[/sp]

Actually I think the biggest change is Morgana tbh. The basic stance/theme doesn't even exist anymore. Also much rather prefer Ann's starting persona compared to her Ultimate one.

Yep.
So something is bothering me about Persona 5.
The game is rated M, and other characters have said fuck, but Ryuji is saying EFFIN'
AND AT ONE POINT HE JUST STRAIGHT UP SAYS FUCK, AND THEN GOES BACK TO SAYING EFFIN' AFTER THAT
WHAT? WHY?
Because fuck doesn't exist in Japanese but even if you decide to add it in, it won't appear unless shit's really going down due to how Japanese culture works
I went with Tae
Do not question how powerful I am.
so, what exactly happens when you fuck more than one girl? is it just a "you're a piece of shit" event like in p4g?

There's no gameplay drawbacks but yeah there's a event that happens
dope. time to start my punk doctor, [sp]teacher[/sp] maid, and class prez harem
Man the factory dungeon was just multiple layers of cancer. It's just fuckloads of attrition and stalling.
[combat spoils][sp]The plentiful mothmen and decarabias were great fun, but that doesn't make up for:
That fat fucking cuntfaced elephant which repels phys attacks and the only weakness is bless (protag exclusive) which is SP expensive. He also uses Deathbound liberally.
Literally more than 2/3 of the enemies are phys resistant.
Guaranteed Masukunda unless you get an ambush in the airlocks which suffer from-
Narrow corridors everywhere, and next to no cover.
The work put into stopping the presses and activating the airlocks goes down the toilet, which means no straight route to the boss.
The Masukunda spam is followed by Spirit Drain. Spirit Drain takes 30 from the player, but only 10 when you turn it against shadows. Since I had no curry left, the protag spent all of the boss fight 1. Spirit draining 2. Mediarama 3. Switching party members for each robot type (which might have been their intention)
[/sp]
Whoever set up the layout of the enemies was competent. And an asshole.
But the level design was garbage and I just wanted it to fucking end. Too much running, not enough cover, literally nothing but corridors, only shortcut to be activated was the executive elevator, all other shortcuts are thrown away. Very, VERY disappointing. Especially after that amazing pyramid.
A level that forces you into fights against attrition enemies is not fun. The game is still 10/10 but this has left a bitter taste in my mouth.
Advice so no one else has to deal with the shit that I did: Get something with spirit drain and Phys strong/repel. Arahabaki is perfect. Also get something that has the cheapest bless skills, you'll need it a LOT. And most most most importantly- COOK DAT CURRY. Save plenty for the final run. And for the love of god just wait for the ambush, a frontal attack is basically as bad as getting surrounded.

phew, I've got that vented. Maybe I'll watch anime for the first time in a week. LWA should be cute enough

I was actually thinking the same thing. That is by far the worst dungeon in the game so far, however, the next dungeon makes up for it because of how unique it is.
What I did was get the doctor to a high enough confidant level that I got the discount and then bought SP recovery 3 accessories for all my party members (50k yen). 7 SP per turn definitely softened the blow to try and trudge through that entire thing in 1 try. Still couldn't do it in 1 go though, had to back out and finish the last stretch because every fight just requires SP 24/7.

Thank god it wasn't just me. Good to know the next dungeon will be better
And SP recovery accessories? Hot damn. I hadn't talked to her in months because my social stats weren't up to scratch.
I had a good lineup of personas and once I started wrecking every shadow I meet I just ignored them and went straight for the treasure
Don't need SP when you don't use them in the first place

I won't say I loved Palace 5 as by the end I just wanted it to end, but it was my favorite so far from a music/aesthetic standpoint.
[sp]Space Burger Zone is just too hilarious of a concept for me to deal with.[/sp]

Boss fight is pretty garbage though

Using Charge + Assault Dive right at the very end was pretty funny at least
Igor is such a nice guy. What a gentleman.
So understanding, so considerate. I wish I could give him presents.
If he's a girl I'll do nothing beside social linking her
I'm pretty bad at games like these but I know that I'm suppose to take advantage of weaknesses and shit, I started the game on normal mode but like half way through the castle I realized wow normal mode is killing me, I switched to easy mode and now I went through like 80+ hours with it. Now... a certain angel fight has me foaming at my mouth, I'm cranking it to super easy purely because this one fight is a load of shit. He summons two angels which is able to heal the boss back to full, I noticed that when they do that, it brings their hp themselves to 1. Leaving them at 1hp won't stop them from casting the heal again so I kill them, next turn he resummons them, if I'm able to take both out at the same time he just resummons both of them in a single turn. oh and everytime I try to debuff him his side hookers would just buff him. dsfkljfdsjkdsjklfdsjkldsl, jklfdsjklfdsjklfghasjhjtygh
my go to routine for tough boss fights is applying atk/def buffs on myself from the very start as well as decreasing the bosses def as well. I usually have Yusuke and Ryuji out as well who just go super ham on the severe physically dmg moves to just cheese away at the boss while the other two characters including well the MC are support.
EDIT: wow, I put the game on baby mode and beat him in like 4 turns. And I managed to deal a 1800+ dmg in a single blow, Yusuke MVP. no wait, he did that much dmg because of baby mode isn't it? shit,
and now you're stuck in safety mode
I was pretty much blowing through the Castle on normal, but then I died right near the top and now that I'm trying to get back to where I was, I'm consistently getting my ass kicked. Fucking Cleave.
Trying to grind up to level 10 now so I can get some better fusions, but even that's a slog.
Was hoping to have this Palace done in 3 days, now its looking like it might take 4 or 5.

That's odd, never had any trouble in palace minus the times where I overdid it and went through some sections with low HP and SP

That's what has me caught off guard. I marched my way right up to the last door without no problems. I didn't avoid any fights on the way. But now I'm struggling to make back that progress after that first death.
Admittedly, I've also had some piss luck and missed at least a couple of important attacks, but damn, I've been OHKO at least twice so far since I re-loaded.
Managed to clear the game with only 5 max bonds. Man did I really enjoy this game, I'm definitely going to go back in just to do other bonds I haven't been able to explore.
I went through like 98 percent of the game on easy mode and even then did easy mode to me felt pretty difficult, I'm not sure if I was playing the game wrong or something but I always had equipped my characters with the best gear possible in terms of def when they came available and I was pretty much glued to the same average level that you see when you check the network.
Wondering how you guys are playing the game that you're able to make it through easily. When I fail to kill in a single ambush turn and start to turn into a brawl, that's when I get into real trouble and people start dropping.
I don't mind too much about turning on baby mode since I was at like the last 1 hour of the game, gonna rush NG+ just to explore new dialogue.

Two physical members, one magical member, with me as mixed. Usually have Makoto as my healer and debuffer, easily the best party member in the game. Also if you can, get Makoto her accuracy/evasion debuff and give yourself an accuracy/evasion team buff.
Buffs and debuffs are extremely important. More-so than almost any other Persona I've played. I almost always use turn 1-2 as a debuff/buff turn.
