That's the point, it's not juvenile because that's exactly how people function when they think they're doing the right thing. I have no idea what you're getting at here either.
Just nitpicking here, but If you observe the stance of the Sae and Akechi, both accused Phantom Thief as criminal and bad guys from the get go. They arrive to that decision by thinking 'they are criminal and dangerous because they hold the power to change people', without ascertaining our identity, motives, and means of action. That is akin to accusing people who own knives as criminal, regardless of what they are doing with that knife. We can argue that there are gun control laws preventing people from owning guns, but 'stealing hearts' is not documented uner the law, so jumping to conclusions like they did looks very abnormal to me. That is not normal at all. Any mature person, even if they had suspicions, would hold off the judgement until at least some evidence that points that we're evil, and proceed with investigation without prejudice first. But Akechi went on TV and brand the thief as criminal right away. In many conversations also, we can see that Sae and Akechi, jumps to conclusion all the time (they keeps on repeating that the Phantoms are the worst criminal scum, while not proceeding with the investigation with any sorts of evidence to back up their claim). Jumping to conclusions to pass judgement is like, the number one thing detectives shouldn't do. It's almost surreal. The most realistic portrayal of proper judgement is the Boss I think. He acknowledge the existence of the phenomenon, but refuses to pass on premature judgement, because we all know that the heart-stealing cases were too vague. Same as the Shadows. Although they are common insignificant enemies to us, but they often stops and try to converse with us, to understand us better. This is surprisingly more humane than most humans in the real (P5) world. But then again , this is just a game, and not a social study journal :v:
P3 and P5 spoilers: [Sp]P3 MC summons in the real world and by the time of Arena SEES definitely can since Fuuka does it. Joker and the P5 cast can summon in the real world as long as they believe they can[/Sp] If you practice enough you can summon in the real world
Major end-game spoilers When do [sp]the P5 cast summon in a real world? Don't even say the end of the game because by the time that happens Mementos took over the real world. As soon as Mementos disappeared they all lost their Persona power.[/sp]

Morgana even states reality is how you perceive it so if the PT believes hard enough (or I guess rebels against reality enough) they could summon their Personas. By the time of Arena SEES can summon their Personas in the real world through training so PT could too. The IT could but it looks like they're not really into the whole Persona thing since they have yet to confirm if the IT joined the Shadow Ops [/sp] Another endgame spoiler: [Sp]Can you turn Satanael into a weapon or a gun? I'd love to use his gun[/sp]
As a general question though regarding the mainline SMT games, so the one that got announced on the Nintendo Switch, is it a remake of an older game or an entirely new entry? Anyway, I think it's one of the sole reasons along with Zelda that I got a Switch even though I think it will also be released for ps4.
Don't forget about Persona 1 and 2, where in the latter, not only do the characters summon their Persona in real-life to fight demons, but [sp]after the protagonist had to travel to an alternate dimension once the original timeline ended, they beat the crap out of Nyarlathotep, the Chaos side of the two governing forces of existence between it and Philemon's Law equivalent.[/sp] This also isn't getting into the fact that SMT If is canon to the Persona timeline, as is the Raidou Kuzunoha games which were what caused a timeline split from the mainline SMT continuity in the first place. The characters of modern Persona games can do some neat stuff, especially the Phantom Thieves thanks to the Metaverse, but if circumstances were less favorable for the world as a whole, there are people who have physically gone toe-to-toe with their real physical skill and brawn against horrific entities that are still considered canon.
I just started paying attention to the Tarot in P5 and I love all the stupid ass jokes on them Priestess checkin out a porno mag is hilarious.

But then again , this is just a game, and not a social study journal :v:
Are you completely ignoring every piece of information and characterization that shows why Sae and Akechi act the way they do? Sae is [sp]under pressure of wanting to get promoted/keeping her current position[/sp] and is trying to solve the case of the psychotic breakdown incidents which from the information she has are eerily similar to what the change of heart cases are doing. Akechi is a teenager who believes that justice should be done under the jurisdiction of established law which is why he frowns upon the good deeds of the Phantom Thieves because it's vigilante justice and there's no system to judge the criminals that are being "punished" by them. Having characters that are all neutral beings who are 100% rational is both unrealistic and boring. Everyone has real life pressure and experiences that forms their biases and judgement and in the case of both Akechi and Sae, their jobs are being done by someone else who's not under the system which makes them look incompetent.Vigilante justice is frowned upon because the people doing it are not under a system that is designed to protect from abuses. It does not reflect well on your government when you have anonymous vigilantes with questionable judgement attacking criminals outside the court of law.
Haru in the other hand shows a good example of how to deal with with the situation. Even after what happen, and forming bonds with the group, she still capable of doubting Phantom Thief. She still questions if their action is what causes the unfortunate event with her family. Even after her involvement, she does not jump into conclusions whether to judge Phantom Thieves action as just or evil, but keep herself open to other possibilities that could help her to reach a firm stance. In her position, it's easy to blame phantom thief for what happened to her and her family, but she does not succumb to that, and keep a level head. She looks timid and weak, but had a real backbone in the face of adversity, even more so than half the member of Phantom thief. Gentle but strong, definitely the type of person and woman that I can look up to.
I really want a Figma/Statue of Arsene and Joker's Ultimate Persona
Seriously though why does anyone even entertain Akechi? Did just barges into everything and acts like a fuckwad and your only responses are to try and be diplomatic. I am sure that he changes or at least justifies his own attitude later, but he even does his stupid subtle threat thing to adults who don't have to put up with his crap but still do because of ???

Still a dick of course and I wanted to punch his face but I sorta always saw him as a real celebrity who went that go to his head, but he's too famous to kinda just flat out reject

Without spoiling anything could anyone tell me how Personal 5 compares to the first two games and the Megami Tensei series in general. Guns are back and I heard you're fighting demons again so it seems like kind of a return to the older style while keeping the school stuff from P3&4 but is it still as anime cheery as P4 and to a lesser extent P3 or is it closer to P2 and perhaps the mainline SMT games?

Going further then that would be intense spoilers tho. If you like classic SMT go for it.
Akechi lost me when the first thing he did upon showing up at school was insult Makoto for no particular reason. That, and the guy carries around a briefcase with his own logo on it.
Without spoiling anything could anyone tell me how Personal 5 compares to the first two games and the Megami Tensei series in general. Regarding tone, I'd say they certainly made an attempt to make a darker story compared to P4, but they still tried to keep it in that high-school context, so its a little difficult to judge where exactly it falls in that regard. I'm still fairly early on (thirty hours or so) so I don't really want to misrepresent the game, but so far the darkness has been a "man's inhumanity to man" sort of deal, rather than a "demons coming to destroy the world" story, but the game does a pretty great job in hammering home just how horrible the people you're dealing with are. Then again, I'm still pretty early, so there's still a chance that the story takes a massive twist on me. With what I've played so far, I'd say P5 is at least as dark as P3, but that darkness is manifest in more of a P4 way, if that makes any sense.
If you truly do not care about spoilers click this tag. I'll still try to be vague as fuck but a lot of impact will be lost. Spoilers for the totally for real final dungeon and some events in it. [sp]The final "dungeon" is a literal homage to SMT2 with the 4 archangels descending on Tokyo and whatnot. It's literally filled with callbacks.[/sp]
Another endgame spoiler: [Sp]Can you turn Satanael into a weapon or a gun? I'd love to use his gun[/sp]
[sp]You can turn him into a knife. I think it's the strongest knife(that I have seen so far). It has 290 attack with 92 accuracy, and has a reduce curse dmg (high) effect. It's a pretty good dagger, but it's not blowingly good looking :([/sp]
I managed to slug my way through the Third Palace in one day, if only because the last chest in the vault had an SP item. It also took me way too long to realize that I can swap party members out on the fly and not just in a safe area. That is one feature I really like about P5 so far. With everyone leveling up at a relatively equal pace, I don't feel locked-in to running a certain team as a main. Everyone just feels so involved.
Seriously though get the SP regen accessories, all of the other ones are useless
Seriously though get the SP regen accessories, all of the other ones are useless
I'm right at the level where I can get them for cheaper as well. I was kicking myself right near the end for not taking the time to go pick some up.
Okay, now this Morgana shit is getting even more ridiculous (September spoilers) [sp]HE'S TRYING TO TALK TO ME, THEN CUTS HIMSELF OFF TO TELL ME TO SLEEP[/sp]
Without spoiling anything could anyone tell me how Personal 5 compares to the first two games and the Megami Tensei series in general. Not to say it feels like P2, but it's much closer to feeling like it should have the SMT name than P3 and P4 did. The demons are still "shadows", but they use the Kaneko demon designs and negotiation makes a return, and the baton pass system sorta makes it feel closer to press turn while still being its own thing. As far as tone goes it really does feel like P4 is the big outlier of the series, which is both a strength and a weakness for it imo. P5 goes very much more in the tone that SMT is used to while still embracing the extravagant anime style Persona has adopted. But I think if you didn't enjoy the more anime bits about P3 and P4, you'll probably enjoy this one a lot more. While it still features fantastical stuff, the problems it talks about and core message of the game is a lot more grounded.
Holy shit, the exp bonus you get with mishima's link reward is so good. I just leveled up three times after killing a mini boss
Did anyone play the Demikids games? I had one of them when I was like 12 but I definitely didnt know shit about SMT back then. I just assumed it was some digimonesque rpg with fusion and shit.
The Premium edition went back up on Amazon, but the double dipping doesn't end there as I'm saving up to import the 20th anniversary edition It's rare for me to get hyped on games, but this has personally become my game of the year
Holy shit, the exp bonus you get with mishima's link reward is so good. I just leveled up three times after killing a mini boss
Unfortunately that requires hanging out with Mishima

I know Lucifer can be fused into a gun does it look anything like Sataneal's?[/sp]
Unfortunately that requires hanging out with Mishima
To be fair, I think the whole point of the Moon social links are so that you put up with insufferable people for amazing rewards in return.
finished the game a few days ago wow, it's definitely a new high for persona. i was worried it wouldnt' surpass p4 but holy shit the [sp]final fight with yaldabaoth[/sp] literally had me standing on my feet shouting at the end what a fucking amazing game persona 5 arena when? i want to main [sp]lavenza[/sp] [editline]20th April 2017[/editline] also hifumi best girl
