What chainsword? :v:
What chainsword? :v:
The ASTir VibroCutter, which you can get at the start of the game is good enough to lest most of the game.
Oh yeah if you have the beta patch you can also add your own songs to the med bay playlist, just drop WAV, OGG or FLAC files to \Documents\The Surge\songs
So I accidentally started a new game instead of NG+ on my only save slot :suicide:
I can't figure out how the fuck to get back to R&D
I can't figure out how the fuck to get back to R&D
You go to where the vending machine cult are. Just past them is the door to R&D.
I gotta say, even though this game isn't super amazing. The ability to target different parts of the body and dismember parts for extra resources is super neat
Got myself the game today with the slight discount. I have to say that the animations and combat feels really smooth especially compared to LotF. Thus far I enjoyed the starting area, especially those dark tunnels. That said I am bit lost right now on where to go. Tons of optional ways and shortcuts opened up to me.
Two things I'd like to discuss and hopefully revive the thread with some discussion, one thing I wanted to bring up was the ending. Nothing story related, just a fairly miscellaneous question. Does the end cutscene show what armor you're wearing? Because I was wearing MG Gorgon armor and it was a bit difficult to see, but the fairly angular armor looked like Gorgon gear. Another thing, why does it seem like the Fire weapons in Fire and Ice [sp]are worse?[/sp] [sp]The MG Ignis has lower damage and most importantly less impact than the reinforced pipe you can get right at the beginning of the game. The MG Caldrium and MG Strigil both seem to have the same problems compared to the ASTir Vibro-Cutter and YOSUKE Butterfly respectively; lower impact and damage in exchange for slightly more energy gain and higher proficiency scaling. Do these weapons just need to be shelved until late-game when my proficiency is higher, or are they just going to be bad forever? The lower damage I could deal with, but the reduced impact is a pretty major deal-breaker. I can't stagger the big fatasses in RHINO gear with my new game started. Not NG+ mind you either.[/sp]
The lower base damage on the fire weapons is compensation for the big explosion AOE they do when you get a couple hits in a row.
Is that story dlc worth it?
Is that story dlc worth it?
It's decent enough. The new environments, equipment and enemies are alright. I haven't beat it yet though so I can't tell you how long it is. If you enjoyed the main game you're probably going to enjoy the dlc. My only issue has been that at a certain point you have to return to the main game and progress to a specific part if you hadn't already in order to progress in the park. Either through me missing a piece of dialogue or through the game just not making it clear I was wandering around for ages trying to figure out how the fuck to progress.
Is that story dlc worth it?
It's incredible. It's exactly what a story DLC for a video game should be- it builds on the base game's story, is integrated into the base game in multiple ways that don't leave it feeling isolated and disconnected, has effects on the rest of the game world, is a completely unique location with a unique aesthetic and traversal gimmick and enemies, and nearly doubles the weapon count while adding new totally unique implants.
Something I just found out about that frankly makes sense, but didn't parse at first. The Ancillary Core implant also boosts the effectiveness of your Vital Boost, Vanadium E-Cell and Endurance Enhancer implants, just as if you had manually leveled up your core with Tech Scrap. If you don't have any good implants to fill up slots, just load up on those.
