Now you just need something to force the usage of the low poly models
i have a potato pc and while i would love to have more than an average 20-25 fps on payday 2 at 640x400, i honestly couldnt stoop that low for ultra low graphics mods. props to those that can actually stomach them, i cant ;(
I hate people who have that "infinite corpses mod" in their lobbies. It stutters my game and the enemys smoke still remains after like 5+ playtime.
Why that overrides the default corpse settings is beyond me. :disappoint:

It is more likely a bug. Check for any almost empty Ammo Bags. When a bag is less than 1% or some shit, the game has a hiccup and will stop despawning bodies and smokes.
My guess is the game says the Ammo bag is around 0% and should be removed. Another part of the game says no, do not remove. And has a side effect of not removing anything at all.
I had this happen once, and I found an ammo bag on 0.27% according to my hud.

Overkill never ceased to amaze me

Managed to pull it off, smokebombs never left till I got rid of it.
Remember children, just like medicine, fully take your ammo bags.
Nothing like getting that glitch in Cook Off and having the entire house engulfed in a plume of endless smoke.

Someone somehow made my PAYDAY64 pack worse
I think I could have gone even lower, but then it would be quite impossible to play (not like this was enjoyable). Now I'm actually interested what is the lowest possible resolution the game will run at...
how did you even chose which heist to play
did you pick a random one or something
how did you even chose which heist to play

Problem was trying to hit Contract Broker, mouse pointer is not in same place where you click.
After I got Contract Broker on my screen, I just chose a button where I remember Bank heist should be.
Easier to navigate with keyboard than mouse, at least that is accurate.
So are we actually gonna get August this Wednesday?
...So THAT is why the infinite smoke happens? What the hell?
Gotta admit, I'm interested to see if August actually has anything going for him.
Gotta admit, I'm interested to see if August actually has anything going for him.
He seems like he'll be interesting, especially if he's all snobby.
New perk decks/weapons are the best part of character packs in my opinion, though I am still interested in August's personality.

my money is on new throwable/perk deck combo again
my money is on new throwable/perk deck combo again
To be honest I actually really like the reusable ability perk decks. I wish we had more of them really.
Hm. Looking at PD2stats, there are trackers for npc kills, and some are unused.
I'd imagine the first 3 are just Mike the Mechanic and the FWB Insider. Can't say for the last 3.
Biker
Escaped Biker
Inside Man
Safehouse Robber
Scared Cop
Stubborn Security
Could Scared Cop be the one you dominate in the loud tutorial?
Possibly. I'd believe it if Stubborn Security was the undominatable guards from Stealth tutorial. My counters are at 0 however.
I hope in Payday 3 they have voice lines for multikills. I'd love hear like "See that? Two for one!". It'd feel way more together.
oh baby a triple
So...
The last time I played Payday 2 was way back around the whole "Drills" controversy. My bf and a friend of ours used to play the game all the time before then, we were trying (and failing) to do Deathwish difficulty missions with 3 people (we're all around Infamy 5 or 6 iirc) but then the whole microtransactions thing happened and the sheer amount of shite and negativity around the game drove us away.
I know that the microtransactions were axed somewhat recently, and that they overhauled the skill trees or something. But I haven't really had much of a look at the game since way back then. Is it worth coming back to?
It'd probably just be myself and my boyf' if we do come back. But I remember we were having a lot of trouble trying to two-man any of the missions on Death Wish (we were able to handle any difficulty up to that, but DW difficulty wrecked us something awful) and neither of us had any luck with Stealth missions. In fact, Stealth as a whole always seemed incredibly tedious and annoying, and very focused on RNG, because one guard or camera catching you could mean having to restart the whole mission.
Can anybody fill me in really briefly about the changes? Did they overhaul stealth and make it less annoying? Is Death Wish difficulty possible without a full team of people who know every single map inside out? And is it worth dropping the game price a second time for all the new DLC?

I'd say it's worth a shot.
I don't know what the game was like back when you played it, since I got into the game a lot later, but I'd say that Death Wish is possible without a full team. You can now equip AI teammates with perks and boosts that make things considerably easier when playing with less people.
Stealth doesn't seem to have changed much from your description.
Whether or not the DLC is worth it depends on how much you enjoy the game.
Absolutely worth coming back, it's not like you gonna lose anything; stealth's still rng-focused bullshit and is probably staying that way; the game became easier since the skill trees change, but there are new difficulties now as well; get DLCs on sale if you feel like it, also there won't be any paid content from now on (apart from Ethan & Hilla pack coming this fall)

May give you some insight.

So AI got a bit of an improvement? That's great to hear. Playing with just two people was pretty brutal back when I played it last, seeing as the AI was almost as useless as the AI Survivors in Left-4-Dead. I had a look at some of the overhauled skill trees and they look pretty interesting.
Shame they haven't done anything with stealth, afaik. I found it incredibly boring to try and play stealth games last time because most of the team (me included) usually got relegated to sitting around moving bags while one person who knew the map would go through and do the actual mission, with constant restarts and resets when a guard walked around a corner after all the Pagers had been activated already. And the idea of seamlessly transitioning from Stealth to Loud in Death Wish mode was virtually impossible because you had to tailor your build for one or the other, and playing loud with a stealth build, or vice versa, was a surefire way to die very very fast.
Still, now that all the hatred and vitriol has been and gone from the whole drills debacle, maybe dipping my toe back in wouldn't be so bad. I did legitimately enjoy PD2 back a few years ago, and with Destiny 2 coming up, I might as well brush up on my Co-Op FPSing.
Keep in mind as well, let's say you don't own any of the DLC. The price tag for the whole lot was around $250~
It is now only $50~ for the lot.
