Main problem I have with the RAID beta is that you have only 2 fucking missions. Really not enough to get a good feel of the game.
Especially considering one can be knocked out in 5 minutes.
raid's fun but I probably won't buy it till it's like 20 bucks.
Fellas, I created a post on the subreddit on how to workaround BLT 2.0 crashing / dead mods.
https://www.reddit.com/r/paydaytheheist/comments/6xcye6/temporary_workaround_for_blt2_luajit_crashing/
Copy pasting the contents below for ease of access.
As we know, BLT 2.0 / LuaJIT has some hiccups. All mods that haven't been updated, including many that will likely never receive updates are broken. Missing option menus, non functional, or crashes. A major one is BeardLib of all things is badly broken and crashes, and without BeardLib, many other mods break and crash.
The IPHLPAPI.dll file is what hooks BLT to Payday and gets it running. Without it, nothing happens. Said file also has to be updated quite regularly when a large update comes to Payday. As of current, PAYDAY 2 has updated it's code, and the current IPHLPAPI.dll is outdated and cannot hook. Mods don't run at all. The IPHLPAPI.dll included in BLT 2.0 is up to date and successfully hooks.
Simple solution, hopefully you still have your previous BLT files from before this update on hand. If you don't, grab them from here.
Download Release 1.08 here.
Be wary that the 1.08 release is likely outdated and will need ingame updates. I backed up my files beforehand so I am not using this method and can't contest if it will work without any issues. Hopefully should not. Should there indeed be an issue, I have provided a download below with the previous BLT as up to date as it can possible be, packed with the new IPHLPAPI, ready to go.
With previous release installed, grab the BLT 2.0 release, also available in link above. Extract the new, up to date IPHLPAPI.dll, and put it into your PAYDAY 2 folder, overwriting the previous. You will now have BLT 1.08 running again, all mods functional, mod option menus working, and hopefully no crashes. .
Be wary of any mods that ask to update, especially if the changelog mentions BLT 2 / LuaJIT support. They will break and crash. WolfHUD's latest update is one of these, though a link below has a fix.
If you have lost the previous version of BLT, I have reuploaded it here, with the NEW IPHLPAPI.dll included. This should get you up and going without any hitches. I haven't experienced any crashes.

Original workaround post found here. Inside this link is a download for WolfHUD's previous version, which works with BLT 1.08 + New IPHLPAPI.dll but not BLT 2.0

managed to get out by spamming left & right and jumping tho
I don't really understand why people call Raid pretty much Payday 2
It's got enough differences that make it feel like a new game
Especially considering stuff like health and the like is handled very differently
It has some nice touches and probably will be a lot better once full release comes out and won't be as restrictive as the beta currently is

The only things it shares are a few bits of generic code and Diesel
A few bits of generic code?
- Player safehouse with customizability
- The WW2 equivalent of Crime.net
- Level-up system where you spend points and money on skills
- The heists are stealth or loud with different objectives, with the bots doing nothing in stealth
- The enemy and friendly AI is the same
- Waves of enemies attacking the player, with some Specials once in a while (including the Sniper)
- The gunplay works exactly the same except the guns feel weak
- The keybinds are the same
"a few bits of generic code"
Raid is Payday 2 with a few things fixed and a couple others added, but it's definitely Payday 2 at its core, and is being advertised as such.

Movement system and behavior is exactly the same as well, screen tilt, viewmodel movement when looking around, tap sprint key and see how the viewmodel reacts, exactly the same deal in PD2.
Eh okay, there's more than just a few
It's a bit scary though that people seem to think this'll end up the same way as Payday is
Isn't LGL in charge of this pretty much?
Does Overkill have much to do with it's development
I genuinely don't know that
I didn't notice a wave system. We played on normal and we were constantly being hammered. We couldn't get a chance to catch our breath.
if it has the same amount from support but mainly by LGL it could probably end up better.
problem is that right now it isn't, and they're asking the same price for this as they ask for PD2U which has like 5x more content, and is more fun.

I doubt that the Beta is showing all the content they'll have at launch, they're holding off
I mean if you look at the bots some of them wear different clothes than the default and even are using guns not accessible by the player

That's a long list for the special edition

There's definitely something like waves. My experience with playing both levels twice each was that you'd have a massive bombardment of enemies coming from the sky, every open door, unlocked vent, nook, cranny, etc for a while then conspicuous nothing for a bit while the other characters yell at you about the objective. They definitely weren't segued into and out of like Payday's, just 100% or 0%.
Also, oh my god having to switch characters to customize weapons are you fucking joking.
Also, oh my god having to switch characters to customize weapons are you fucking joking.
From what i can tell from the site, classes are supposed to have multiple weapontypes
Another thing they haven't implemented into the beta basically
But challenges for weapon upgrades are universal per character

They come all the time during hunters i think, but during the other they tend to mostly have a set amount to spawn per certain objectives
There's so much that feels wrong about RAID that I'd be alright if it was a early alpha preview, but as a beta I'm filled with worry and doubt. The dialogue and AI are abysmal, the guns weak, the raw health mechanic a bit mediocre, the sound design ranges from decent to quite terrible, the new weapon and level progression kinda feels like a bundle of why, and it all somehow looks worse than Payday 2.
I doubt that the Beta is showing all the content they'll have at launch, they're holding off

yeah no doubt they're not showing everything, but even then I doubt it'll be better at launch.

nice
hopefully it has more hitler scenes at launch
Something that annoys me about both Payday 2 and Raid is that the writing is extremely lazy and forgettable. They both have so much potential, look at how Left 4 Dead made a zombie apocalypse interesting with so little world building, and yet these two games here can hardly even manage to invent a half-interesting character.
[editline]1st September 2017[/editline]
Like Jesus, get some actual writers please
Raid doesn't look promising so far, both missions were really fucking boring. The game might get better when it comes out (or after like a year of updates), but for now I'm not sold on this at all.
Not sure if anyone else has said this and I skipped over it but, the lighting is probably the first big 'oh god when was this made' feature for me, even with the brightness turned all the way down everything look overlit and amateurish
Also +1 for the writing, that said I recognize that it was likely written by someone who isn't a native speaker
There's no excuse for the game to look this bad, and it doesn't even properly support ultrawide.
If you jump on this truck, you can see that part of the level is unfinished

Also sometimes killing guards that detected you will keep the icon above their heads forever

I also had this happen to me once
[T]http://i.imgur.com/fhWHWJ4.jpg[/T]
The max FOV feels really narrow, and a lot of the animations look a bit goofy. The game isn't unfun, but it doesn't have anywhere near the same impact that Payday does.
Wolfenstein: The Heist, more like.
Wolfenstein: The Heist, more like.
The music that kicked in and the area where you shoot down the blimp gave me some Rocketeer vibes too
Not sure if anyone else has said this and I skipped over it but, the lighting is probably the first big 'oh god when was this made' feature for me, even with the brightness turned all the way down everything look overlit and amateurish

It felt more dark and muddy to me, I had trouble seeing what was around even with the brightness cranked up to 75%. Probably doesn't help that almost everything in the game is green, brown, grey or black and the two missions they gave us both take place at night.
So Rivet is a gangster guy from Chicago.
If they decide to reveal he's the grandpa of Dallas and Houston I swear I'm gonna fucking travel back in time and change history so Hitler wins.
Wolfenstein: The Heist, more like.
I wish it was at least as good as the music in Wolfenstein 2009, since it seems to want to go the same route.

Or like The Saboteur since it's the same kind:

But instead the music we've got is meh.
is it me or it's not possible to get past level 5 in the beta?
is it me or it's not possible to get past level 5 in the beta?
Wouldn't be surprising if that was the case, considering how limited the beta is in every way.
