im sad that rust probably wont be back in payday 3 since hes by far my favorite DLC character
What I wanna know is when do we get to rescue Jiro's son :v: how many years has it been since he was introduced to the gang, 2 now?
im sad that rust probably wont be back in payday 3 since hes by far my favorite DLC character
He's so boring though, and Ron Perlman sounded like he was sleepwalking in the VA booth
He's so boring though, and Ron Perlman sounded like he was sleepwalking in the VA booth
Don't care. Rust's over-the-top unnecessary pottymouth just amuses me.
im sad that rust probably wont be back in payday 3 since hes by far my favorite DLC character
Who is Rust? I dont remember anyone called like that in Payday.
I know it's kind of a stupid thing to expect a story in a game like Payday, but still.
Not at all. I'd say the writing in Payday 2 is severely lacking, more than it should. Let's compare it with its closest inspiration, for example: Left 4 Dead. Left 4 Dead has good characters, great dialogues, and an okay story. Payday 2 meanwhile has good characters, almost no dialogues, and a downright bad story, it's obvious they don't even care about the lore or plotholes. Payday was inspired by several crime/heist films, but it doesn't come close to them in its themes. And yet Payday has the potential for so much.
So long as Jacket's still in PD3 I'll be satisfied. Even though I know he most likely won't be in it. :v:
Dear diary: Today, I made a friend.
When it comes to Jacket, he's entirely original aside from his actual appearance. So I don't think it's out of the question for a spiritual successor with the same voice to appear in PD3.
Don't kick my Russian boy out now He's probably the first character that has made me say "I really want to play as this guy all the time"
I'm honestly torn between keeping some old characters, because I really like Dragan, starting off with a completely new gang, for the aforementioned blank slate (and the opportunity for better dialogue in heists), or starting with the original four for tradition's sake.
What if we got, say, a "Make-your-own" customizable heister in place of, maybe, Wolf?
Don't kick my Russian boy out now He's probably the first character that has made me say "I really want to play as this guy all the time"
Dragan, Sokol and Jacket have to be must keeps.
I think a lot of Payday's charm comes from its characters, even if there's too many with too little development nowadays. I feel that something would be lost if that part of the game is replaced. On the other hand, creating your own character and starting slowly building your way up from robbing convenience stores to grand, cinematic heists is an idea I'm a fan of and is in fact the sort of idea that drew me to Payday 2 (and consequently PDTH since PD2 wasn't out yet) in the first place.
i think it'd be really cool of payday 3 had a proper singleplayer campaign where your custom heister is a new recruit and you have to go through the process of becoming a big time bank robber alongside hoxton and company. maybe give him a canonical name/appearance but you can still customize everything about them
What if we got, say, a "Make-your-own" customizable heister in place of, maybe, Wolf?
the team's random nobody medic Dallas says "he was always the best man we had"
What if we got, say, a "Make-your-own" customizable heister in place of, maybe, Wolf?
I pitched an idea of the character being customizable, own face, mask etc, but he should have a fixed official name for voice callouts by other characters, and if he's a bot his "canon" face and mask would be used :V
Killing Nazis with shotguns is suprisingly satisfying in Raid:WW2
i failed another crime spree bc i forgot to call my bots after i told them to previously stay no wonder something feels strange
Can anyone who digs the game files share Steel Wrapped Gift's .stream (or converted .wavs, doesn't matter) with me? That's the only track I'm missing.
Iter was just updated with this change log [Safe House Raid] optimization (removed +3000 useless units, gained 30 fps) good shit
Now the map itself just needs to be optimized :v:
Seriously I play with a phenomenal rig and even on that map I feel like if I look at it funny the game will crash
It sort of is. Almost everything is missing that you usually can't see. Scarface, Sangres, Wolf, Wick, Sokol, Dragan, Jacket, Bodhi, Bathroom rooms are empty husks, just the basic surfaces. No props, wall supports, lighting, carpets, trophies, anything. Aldstone's room is removed all together, as well as the vault. The only things that remain are the vault hallway and door that are visible through floor windows, some geometry in Wick's Killhouse, and Matt Roscoe. Poor fucker lies on a cold concrete floor in the pitch black. I'm currently on a laptop, and my framerate increased from 5~40 to 40~110.
Iter was just updated with this change log [Safe House Raid] optimization (removed +3000 useless units, gained 30 fps) good shit
Now we also need fixed navigation in the Bank Heist (and Firestarter day 3) for hostages, because I've had the two punks walking back and forth like headless ducks on the way to the van. They can't even cross the street without a moment of thinking. [SP]They should hire the maker of that mod and pay him a lot for his trouble![/SP]
I really wish they made it so you could just pick up hostages and carry them somewhere instead of having to wait for a year for them to walk where you want them to. We can pick up dead people, so why not live ones?

(Next thing someone's gonna defend it by saying it's balance, right???)
Being able to carry hostages sounds good on paper. But even with as many penalties you could stack on (Movement speed debuff, limited to secondary only / no weapons at all) won't offset being able to place hostages in unreachable or abusable positions.
