I was just about to squeal out of my anus about this.
18 damage. 18
How big is the gun?
At least the base saiga has a mag mod now
Diamond Heist.
doubt the diamond heist is related to the story though
if that's it they should've made the red herring achievements the alaskan deal ones and made some new teaser achievements for diamond heist
that or we're actually getting another original heist instead of DH but I doubt it
In more important news.
The new shotgun sucks.
It's the JP36 of shotguns as a secondary.
how about you shut your mouth and stop talking shit about Jp36 best girl
yeah she's no clarion but she's goddamn beautiful
Heist is okay. Carl's music is okay but nothing quite on par with Simon's work. Shotgun is meh but running around with the akimbo variant, just shooting like a mad man is fun. Really curious as to where the story will go from here.
So uh, deagle mod for day 6 riddle
[sp]Friendship ended with LOCKE
Now we CANNOT trust anyone anymore[/sp]

Enjoy emptying half the mag into dudes heads.
Well, the achievement names are spoilerrific, and so is the new track's name. Speaking of which, I don't feel like it captures the feel of the situation, if not Payday in general - as VintageCat already said above. It feels like a generic EDM track. Compare it to [sp]"Backstab" from Hoxton Revenge[/sp] and you'll see what I'm talking about.
[sp]I'd be lying if I said I didn't expect Locke to betray the gang eventually. He's been introduced as someone who's capable of fucking with crime.net itself. He came out of the blue, started his presence with a threat to the gang's activity and safety - and now we're set up yet again, making this heist essentially Watchdogs 2.0. It was predictable to the point of being blatant.
That being said, I'm interested in where the story can go from here. I presume the Butcher will not take kindly to being set up and sold out. She's put forward too much for the Payday Gang's assistance (weaponry, contracts, and an additional gang member who is a crooked cop and would conveniently help the Butcher get off the hook [pun not intended] whenever his buddies would start sniffing around) to let herself get set up like that. Having her people help the gang on the boat was a nice touch, too.
I hope we get to see her further assist the gang in the future, just to ensure that Locke's utterly fucked by choosing to betray them (because I'm not buying the "I was given an offer I couldn't say 'no' to" excuse I heard in the Alaskan Deal intro sequence). I feel like having a team of 18 murderous professional criminals AND a Croatian mafia after you is essentially a death sentence.[/sp]
[sp]how shocking that the contact who hacked our contracting service in order to get in contact with us, and who betrayed a private military organization that we've fucked over countless times ended up betraying us too[/sp]

[sp]He sold out the butcher too though[/sp]

[sp]maybe she'll help the gang by getting them some much better weaponry
military grade to fit with locke's theme
like,you know, a tank[/sp]
[editline]23rd October 2017[/editline]
this page is looking more and more like some CIA document or something
[sp]Wait, holy shit, the shitty shotgun actually makes sense since it was Locke who supplied us the 'fire power'.[/sp]

Has the same stats as the long barrel.
[SP]Speaking of story, what about the web series? It's been too long; 2.5 years.[/SP]
another thing, when did the heist intros get repurposed with vehicle noises and at times voice lines?

Day 3.
On top of that we gave the Contract Broker an overhaul as well as all loading screens and some of the black screens, which should now have a more emerging sound.

[SP]Speaking of story, what about the web series? It's been too long; 2.5 years.[/SP]
I love the live action stuff because it's cheesy and fun to see the characters but there's legitimately porn with better acting and writing than the web-series
payday live action content should be more like the Hardcore henry trailer, low budget action rather than extremely low effort police procedural
[sp]Damn it I really liked Locke why did he have to bamboozle us like this?[/sp]
I don't get why you'd even bother betraying the payday gang consdiering their usual treatment of behaviour like that
[sp]Seems odd that they're having one of the most popular contractors become an antagonist, rather than a more major ally, though.[/sp]
[sp]I do hope we dont actually catch and kill Locke, like he's the only character who betrays the payday gang, escapes from us and survives to tell the tale. He managed to fuck with Crime.Net, Betrayed Murkywater, and now betrayed us. It would be dumb for us to be able to catch him and kill him like Hector, I'd like to see that so called offer he can't say no to be an actual offer that he literally couldn't say no to, and because of it we can't touch him in any possible way[/sp]
not crazy about the new heist. It's not terrible, but it's also not particularly much of anything.
I might be an outlier but does anyone else not care particularly much about lore or lore related heists?
like stuff like Hox Revenge, Heat Street, Green Bridge almost never get played for me for those reasons among other things

[sp]We've set a precedent with Hector, though. We moved heaven and earth to get Hoxton free and find out who set him up - the gang did multiple errands for The Dentist just to have a chance at getting Hoxton free, spontaneously attacked an FBI office with no planning whatsoever, stole multiple evidence on a server, figured out the location of the exact safehouse and executed Hector for his betrayal.
Locke knows too much for him to get away scot-free. He's gained access to crime.net and thus, by extension, presumably the profiles of everyone involved; this puts multiple gang accomplices - most notably, The Elephant, who's an actual politician with a reputation to uphold, and The Butcher, who was involved in the deal herself - in jeopardy. He explicitly admits that he's been offered a deal - despite Commissioner Garrett noting in the FBI Files that he doesn't know who could be the gang's inside man in Murkywater, *someone* knew of Locke's affiliation with the Payday Gang and offered him something that's apparently very valuable to him.
If the Payday Gang's safety is at any value, any intel concerning them must be destroyed... and since Locke happens to have intel on the gang, he must be eliminated.[/sp]
Heists that advance the story are great. I do however think there could be another pack like Armored Transport, a multi-set of themed "generic" heists.

I don't give too much of a squeal about the lore addons to HS and GB, and I still play them frequently.
Also, shotgun is fun to use despite its low stats. In my current build/experience it can still tear through the normal cops even with the single gun on Overkill. Decent enough for me, but yeah, needs a damage booth. I dunno why the devs think this and the Goliath's stats are okay.
Also with all this shit going on lore-wise right now I think now's a good time to remind myself I forgot to post that one thing. I think no one posted it and I kept putting it off and never got around to it. It was on a live tweet with not much exposure, just a bit before the H3H3 stream started.

Gage (Dash Mihok) is looking to come back into play. I believe we can expect him to be even more relevant than just an occasional namesake pack here and there.
I like how far the Metropolitan Police Force's reach is that they have grounds to operate in Alaska, Nevada, California, New York, and pretty much anywhere that'll allow them.
If I did post this before check me into a home

I really wish this heist had used Murky units ala Boiling Point
given how often you fight Murkywater it's actually silly that there isn't a Murky faction when the Russian Mercs exist
It's super fucking dumb that Beneath The Mountain is cops instead of the Murkys.
Beneath The Mountain, Birth of Sky, Slaughterhouse, Meltdown, and now this should all be Murky fights
Maybe when the reddit thing comes around we could be vocal about retroactively adding them as a faction skin into relevant heists
