I love the magnified sight, if a game has it, I prefer it over all other sights.
So Infamy is now infinite and gives direct stat boosts to stuff like health and dodge.
Jesus christ, these guys have absolutely no idea what in the fuck they're doing.

That depends on a bonus. I don't think +0.03% of health per level is going to be game-breaking.
They add up though and that in itself makes it a bad idea.
Infamy should be entirely optional. Making it grant any bonus that affects in-heist gameplay makes it a requirement if you want to play with an ideal setup.

So? Now higher infamy players are just directly and objectively better then lower infamy ones.
Before, a 5-100 was effectively the same as a 25-100. Now the 25-100 is just objectively better.
So, they now mentioned that Infamy level and boost system are going to be independent from each other, and there are finite amout of boosts you can get.

it's not infamy related the boosts are contin coins
so the only change to infamy is a ui change and more masks some 3.0 eh?

Apparently it's done with those safehouse upgrade tokens.
I'm looking forward to hackers that now have fully upgraded stat bonuses on day one.

Unless OVK somehow tied it with Steam Inventory API, it was going to be hacked on the day one

Just to recap:
-The Boost System is not tied to Infamy. You purchase boosts using Continental Coins, and these boosts give you small bonuses. The cost for the boosts increases the more you purchase. This is not infinite, you can eventually buy all boosts.
-You can essentially go Infamous forever now, for more XP bonuses and cosmetics. This compliments the Boost System, because the XP bonuses allow you to get Continental Coins faster.
Oh, and there's going to be a new feature to earn Continental Coins. It involved 'increasing difficulty' of some sort. They'll talk more about it on Wednesday.

past infamy 25 the xp boosts given are minimal
Well, I sure am glad I already have about a thousand continental coins.
Fuck, I have only 90.

And there goes Joakim's hints towards pro jobs coming back in some form. Seems like they'll add modifiers for that kind of stuff to make heists harder (And hopefully not as useless as the mutators).
i'm in the process of watching the stream presently... but based on the thread recaps, infamy 3.0 is fairly lame, but expected.
also, if pro jobs are coming back and are tied with those coins as a sort of double or nothing type of deal, no one is going to find that valuable. whoaaaa, beat firestarter without failing for 3X the coins, but CAREFUL if you fail, you lose any coins you would have gained!! whoaaaaa
afterthought: the infamy system can't be truly infinite, if we're talking technically. if they're storing the infamy value as a number, I can't wait for someone to cause the value to overflow and crash. it'd be an obvious giveaway for cheaters, but i'd be willing to bet twenty bucks that there will be a patch note about "Fixed high infamy values overflowing and causing a CTD on launch"
some various notes of relevancy, not exact quotes but close:
- "Q: I have 550 coins -- is this going to be a lot for the new system or not at all? A: Depends on where you are in the system, early on that'll be a few boosts, but not so much early on."
- increases in coins needed for next boosts are "not exponential"
- "Crime Spree" stream for next wednesday. name suggests a sort of daily system.
- on the topic of beta builds to fix various other things the community has asked for, they touch briefly on "having a good idea on how to make stealth interesting for high level players"
- "as always, we can't say when or give exact dates, but soon. we're allowed to say 'soon.'" spring break? not-crimefest-crimefest?
- an alternative to simon's infamy screams -- wouldn't be very feasible to have simon record something like "in-famy~ level one-hundred-million! even if it would be hilarious. maybe a microsoft sam voice?"
- a couple of new masks and achievements. "no, we won't have one for every level. we won't go crazy, like 'go infamy 12 million' -- milestones."

They confirmed the cap is technically 2,147,483,647.
Not like anybody is going to reach that, though.
And then OVK will add a trophy for reaching infamy 2,147,483,647.
Which gives you extra tokens, crashing your game and corrupting your save in the process

Gonna up it to top 5, sending out DMs now for the winners with the codes
(added an extra guy on cuz he DM'd me)

#goals
Here's my short review on the new Russian weapons:
SMG: It's alright. Doesn't eat it's ammo too fast, deals good damage, is accurate and stable enough to usually hit target and the ammo pickup keeps it fed.
Rifle: Boring. Nothing special about it at all, other then having a higher fire rate then what's useful for it. It's your average high damage low ammo rifle.
Sniper: It sucks. It's base accuracy is too low to hit anything worth a damn and it's complete lack of stability throws your aim off worse then other snipers after each shot.
All in all I'd pass on this.
Imagine reaching infamy levels so high, that a normal jewelry store rush is 100 levels.
[QUOTE=SGTNAPALM;52007630]Imagine reaching infamy levels so high, that a normal jewelry store rush is 100 levels.[/QUOTE]
this is how we will get to 2 billion
[editline]24th March 2017[/editline]
doesnt it cap actually
I thought we were already hitting per heist caps
[editline]24th March 2017[/editline]
"Added missing mods to the new Russian weapons"
where cuz I see no new mods

They added the Auto/Single fire mods and one of the AK grips.
They're still heavily lacking in mods.
So to my understanding infamy gives nothing more than xp boosts now, and continental coins are what will give us boosts, however due to how continental coins are earned this makes it faster
right?
Did they say if the older infamy bonuses will also be continental purchaseable?
infamy gets a facelift. it is the same thing but now with infinite chances to go infamy. EXP boosts past 25 start to get diminishing returns. if you liked infamy for the prestige aspect of it, this is good for you.
the tier reductions are now on the continental coin system, among other things, like minuscule bonuses to things like armor, dodge, and health (anything past this is conjecture)
So theoretically if a level 0 started doing nothing but safe house raid and daily they could get the original infamy 5 boosts without going infamy?

How minuscule is "minuscule"?
1%? 0,1%?
[QUOTE=brenz;52007929]How minuscule is "minuscule"?

As far as I can tell, we don't know.
I imagine it won't be anything too insane. Maybe a max of +10% for each. Don't want players getting like 100% dodge now.

if i'm understanding this system right, yes
but by the time that player got those coins, they'd be leveled a bit. especially considering some of the dailies are harder -- not assuming a perfect world in which they get carried.
the infamy tier reduction thing is such a formality anyway
