I naively thought my performance couldn't get any worse than it does playing Golden Grin, but I was wrong. I played Brooklyn 10-10 yesterday for the first time, and during certain parts, I must have been hovering around 33 FPS, definitely under 50 once all the action started, just getting lower and lower. It certainly gave Golden Grin a run for its money.
It was hard to enjoy the heist when the game just vomited a huge amount of enemies to the point where my game slows down to near-unplayable levels. I just can't catch a break.
I hope payday 3 will be a pallete cleanse.

It was an "infinite leveling" system that, working alongside continental coins, would result in players being able to just straight upgrade stats.

Two new systems: Infinite Infamy for higher XP boosts and maybe a few cosmetics (but mostly bragging rights), and a finite boost system in which you spent continental coins to unlock minor, flat boosts to stats like dodge or health. The two systems were related because the higher your XP boost, the more coins you'd earn, which means the sooner you'd get more stat boosts. Infamy would not be strictly required for that, however.
Most criticisms revolved around power creep concerns, and the inability to "max" out infamy because apparently that's important to some people.
And our new weapon is another two magazine weapon

maybe they're trying to enforce PDTH ammo consersvation? but the reason why conserving ammo in PDTH was hard was because there weren't 50+ cops around all the time droping ammoboxes like nobody's business. and the ammo pickup rate for most weapons wasn't high as fuck (really the only weapons that run out of ammo in PD2 are shotguns/sniper rifles with low ammo pickup.)
and if they really wanted to do this then they'd just make every assault rifle like this

No, OK realized high damage low ammo weapons were the way to go, since those have the lowest TTK. Low pickup and ammo are how they balance them.
Shorthand: Too much effort for too little pay-off at this point in the game's lifecycle, probably.

I was actually thinking about this sort of topic myself. When I was playing Four stores, and Transport heists yesterday, it kind of dawned on me how different the earlier heists in the game were.
You could almost feel that there was a different train of thought going on with how the level design, and progression was considered in earlier heists, it's really unusual compared to what most heists are now.
It's especially noticeable if you just listen to some of Vlad's heist descriptions on the earliest heists compared to his newer ones, but perhaps that's not a fair comparison, since he's always been pretty eccentric, he's just taken it up a notch as time has gone by.
Though I don't necessarily agree with them leaving old heists as is, because some of them are pretty bad, I can at least understand if it has some nostalgic value, because I certainly feel like it's 2013 again whenever I play Jewelry Store, or Four Stores.
Honestly, I think the best solution would be to make a 'successor' to some of the original. I don't know if it was intentional, but Stealing Xmas was actually what I wanted Mallcrashers to be, a variant that's bit more complex, and rewarding. I wouldn't mind seeing something like that for Nightclub, or Four Stores. That way, they could still preserve all the old heists, while being able to make something similar, but with the standards of newer heists.

We had 3 weapons in PDTH, thus conserving ammo was easier (unless you're a terrible shooter).
There we have only two on hand, and this is limiting our possibilities.
