A bug. Many trophies will still trigger the sound even if you already have them.

But Nick makes more sense than Francis since he's already some shady conman
Robbery probably wouldn't be that far out of his moral compass
Plus we already have a biker character. Though I'd definitely prefer Francis over Rust and his bored delivery, Nick would still be the most fitting survivor to add to the game.

There are a lot of reasons why they shouldn't even bother, at most they might as well make a new character that is supposed to be a special infected pre-infection like a hunter or smoker
Besides I highly doubt that No Mercy will still be about the L4D outbreak when it rolls around, especially since they boast in the Walking Dead FAQ:

My game crashed and kicked me out of my spree too. You think the game would be able to tell when there's a fucking crash and allow you to continue for free.

Mods were a mistake.
So I started a crime spree from 0 because.. yeah.. and it crashed again before I even got in.
Validated game files, and tried again.

I've only had one crash so far but a friend of mine crashes whenever he hosts a crime spree, even after he disabled all mods and updated his drivers. So I got no idea.

It was fine for me up until today. Nothing changed, played with the same people, same mods, whatever.
I haven't had many crashes at all tbh
