I have to assume the event was originally going to have Jiro's son part of Green Bridge. But due to basically everybody saying "That's super predictable, don't be lazy and do that" they decided to change it.
I don't think so: What's more likely: during the event they changed all their plans last-minute, retooled the heist to not be Kento, got all the relevant voice actors back into the booth without warning, do all-new takes, revise the script, achievements, trailers, etc., or that this was just their plan from the start? My money is on the latter.
Maybe it would work in a completely different game, but for Payday I have to disagree. On Normal there aren't so many cops and it's bloody boring. Just a whole lot of standing around to techno music and waiting for more enemies to show up - increasing their health and damage doesn't help either. Payday's mechanics are suited to lots of enemies, it falls flat without them.
Up to a point. Once that line is passed, then it just becomes very obvious the game's engine isn't completely suited for hordes that try to rival a medium skirmish in the style of Serious Sam. Things just start breaking, and it becomes a hassle trying to deal with it all as a player. Overkill's favorite solution to the difficulty topic is to just bloat numbers, and it really just starts to take a toll on everything in the game after a while. I just want a solution that doesn't kill my performance, because my least favorite thing about the game now is that I can't run a solid framerate in 4-player games (including offline play since bots count as players now) because the amount of cops has gone up way too high for my liking. And I'm sure the cops don't enjoy it very much either, because at low frames, they become remarkably stupid. [sp]Optimization update soon maybe? Please..?[/sp]
pretty sure I remember this person getting laid off a long time ago
They did not, nor should they be laid off for what amounts to nothing more than a personal opinion. People keep posting that tweet as if it reflects the company as a whole. The world doesn't really work like that. People can hold individual opinions, controversial or not.
I wish preplanning allowed you to cater to loud or stealth a bit more. Like, with dockyard, you have to go in, set off the alarm, then wait for C4 to drop. Why not just take it with you in the first place? Golden Grin has this which is cool. It's a different case in stuff like Bank heist, where it's the same goal, loud or quiet.
Does selecting weapons in Crew Management effect the bots damage with said weapons?
If any of you gives a shit for whatever reason, I got the time stamp for the mini-trailer on Nintendo Direct for the PD2 Switch reveal. Go to 9:22. Seems like, at the very least, it will be up to the Wolf Pack heists and Sydney character updates.
How much do you think they'll have to downgrade the game in order to make it run on the Switch? Will it use one of those little cartridges?

If I recall correctly, the Playstation and Xbox versions both got unique masks based on exclusives from those platforms. I'm going to guess with 80% certainty it'll be related to a certain iconic plumber, but I can imagine some others if it's not.
They'll probably go for something more gritty and techno related like Samus' helmet. ...That or some other furry shit like a Fox McCloud mask.
Hey MarioInATopHat, you should do a Sociopath PSA. http://pd2tools.com/l/f80feae67abf0b5195f0b322aa2b1dff I'm running this and it's some of the most fun you can have in Payday. If you smartly stack Bullseye headshots, short and long range kills, and melee attacks, you can stay out in the open practically indefinitely on Overkill. As long as you keep the damage up you're golden, it's a very fast-paced way to play. It's super nice to switch between ranged and melee kills, feels great. The only flaw in this build is I believe silencers can't suppress enemies so you might want to drop the silencer skills and the silenced Steakout to take full advantage of the deck's panic. I don't have any mods that should change bot behavior in the open beta (Adaptive Resync, Disable Crime Spree reset on crash, Drag and Drop inventory, More Weapon Stats, MUI, No ADS Sway, Stale Lobby Contract Fix, and Velosync), but occasionally bots can carry bags now?

I tried to stalk a thread on the steam forums for a code, after like 30 minutes checking in for the new replies, the one time I decided to not constantly check back for replies was the time that the distributor posts a bunch of them. I'm a real lucky one. I'm sure they were all gone within a minute though, since at the time, that thread had somewhere around 850+ replies. So maybe I shouldn't sulk about it too long.
If we were to ever get a Saints Row crossover and get Gat as a heister, the track used for his introduction better be this: Would make for a good heist success track too IMO.
honestly, at the rate that Payday has been steadily abandoning any shred of realism or believability, give it a year or so and I could probably totally buy the idea of it sharing a universe with Saints Row.

Payday 4 will have superpowers, you will be still be able to use weapons but those will be useless. Then Overkill will make Payday: Wolf where he is trying to escape hell after being killed off-screen in Payday 3.
People have been saying this saints row stuff since the first game
Dunno why, but this guy lying back dead hidden behind one of the sections of the bridge stuck out to me. I don't think are any other people who are dead by the time you start, so it seems amusing that he's one of the only visible casualties. The way he's hidden behind there was weird too.
I fully agree. I got the perk deck recently and it's the reason I'm enjoying melee so much, and why I want it to be upgraded like what's been discussed. I want regular kills to boost melee damage exponentially but for a very short time and only for one hit. This would encourage the fast paced constant kills style for sociopath.

Both perk decks reward an aggressive playstyle, and on lower difficulties allow you to negate most damage completely. I just wish Sociopath felt more combo-based like a true Hotline Miami reference, with similar, but stronger bonuses depending on how high you maintain one.
I really like the idea of Maniac, but it just kinda weak. It is rewarding to have a high blue bar, and you're contributing to your team as well, which is cool.
Give him a Doctor Bag (just place nearby) and you will earn an achievement. ;)
Oh, is that what it's for? I don't really check the achievements unless it's to unlock anything so I had no idea. Guess that's why it stuck out.
Inb4 the switch exclusives masks are locked behind amiibos
Nope, main game. I was playing on overkill and it was like DW amount of police spawns for normal enemies.
DW and Overkill have the same number of spawns. Only OD has an increase on the spawn cap.
I honestly like your Sandman guy more, he seems to have more personality to the way he looks.
so you're saying I have no personality, huh
I still don't understand why they made the headshot multipliers decrease as difficulty increases. We're they afraid of Body Expertise being "too powerful"? Wonder if there is a mod that reverses the order, so the headshot multiplier is highest on One Down and lowest on Normal.
