Gosh thanks for the quick response. I know how the game ends and all, but I'd still love to see it all the way through before I move on to deltarune.
Yeah just interact with everything you can interact, talk to everyone, and of course make sure to spare everyone. Initially you can only get the neutral ending, then after loading up your save game after your first playthrough, you have to backtrack a bit and you'll unlock a new section in the game. After you get through that you're on your way to the true pacifist ending.
I think Kris' outfit being similar to Papyrus' might give an indication whether or not this game is a prequel to UT - I have a hunch that our goofy skeleton friend is a lot younger at this point in time (and space?), and he probably will look up to the main character by copying his apparel. However this is just speculation and might not play out as I predict 🤔
also, all i need is the ini file, right?
I was really hoping the dialogue "let's come back tomorrow" was referring to doing another playthrough a day later in real time, and it would trigger an in-game event, but since its already passed im guessing nothing happens and we are stuck waiting indefinitely for chapter 2
Yeah, file0 is the save file and file9 is an autosave but those two should generate iirc, though if they don't appear on the menu immediately you might as well copy them over unless you do have those already existing. You can edit the name on the ini as well if you wish to do so. It's currently set to Name="Rose" on that save file.

TwitLonger — When you talk too much for Twitter ready up for Undertale 3: Valve's Electric Boogaloo
Based on this response, it looks like we'll be waiting quite a lot longer for the rest of the game compared to the gap between Undertale's demo and the full game.
Such a mean motherfucking cliffhanger maaaaaaaan it's straight up HL2EP2 style bullshit
What a long read, and like everything else it was planned a while in advance...October 4th I recommend everyone read it, but here's the key point- the rest of the chapters have been written but not made, and he doesn't want to make a game by himself again (and Temmie). He wants to build a team (hasn't yet), and when all the chapters are done they'll be released together. No Kickstarter, no preorders, just a full release when it's done. It's weird to read this cause you don't know how much he added before release (there wasn't a Mac version yet, and while there technically aren't any majorly different endings in the game there is the big one at the end ), but I trust Toby will release a great game when it's all said and done.

I love his honest yet earnest attitude. And damn it actually took a few years to do this demo alone, now that really is quite a drive in passion. I sincerely hope he will be able to finish the game and get a good team to help him develop. I like how he's not trying to just do another Undertale, and instead acknowledges that it'll probably be difficult to get that same experience we got the first time with Undertale. So rather than trying to top the original, he's doing something that can stand on its own but using familiar elements and characters in a whole new adventure and setting.
This song has been getting stuck in my head each day since it came out https://youtu.be/tnLQnX7BPeU
It's so good I had to use it as my ringtone
> * Hey, you walk pretty fast. > * Then again... > * Guess you've got a lot of experience running away, huh? Wait what? (You get that if you hold X to run during the school sequence)
I don't know about toby being able to manage a team but UT has been ported to PS4 and Switch, and he's followed on twitter by Hideo Kojima. Not to mention money isn't an issue with UT's success. He's made his name in the community so I'm certain he will have plenty of qualified people willing to help if they can put up with toby's programming habits
I'm happy that it's all just its own thing. I got my fill of alternate timeline/universe shit from homestuck and I do not want to go back to that sort of thing
christ I knew there would be a long wait, but I was not expecting to hear he didn't already have a team assembled and that he had 0% progress (sorta) on the rest of the game. idk what he was thinking trying to solo this all for the last few years like this. i mean hey good for him for trying, but yea, a project like this needs a proper dev team behind it if you seriously want to see it finished. at least he's figured that out now. Well I'd say see you all again when the game comes out, but that's assuming this forum is even around then lol. WELP!
I actually find myself slightly disappointed New consequences for the universe that toby fox creature seemed simutaneously scary but very exciting, I never expected it to alter the original game but I (along with many others) at least heavily expected there to be some kind of explanation as to why things are so different, and perhaps a tie-in to the original game like the Sans theory people have been throwing around.
Will pass it on.
See he says there won't be any of that, but at the very end he says "Don't forget", the very phrase that ties the game back to Undertale. I don't think it'll end up being The Thing about the plot, but there will be connections.
Yep. Since the script is already written (arguably the most time consuming part of any game, having taken a gamedev class), I would say a team of ~10 programmers familiar with game maker could remake the demo in about 6 months working 9-5. It might be better for a team to start programming from scratch, or build off of what Toby already did with chapter 1. Either way a lot of the groundwork is laid for completing the rest of it. I hope toby finds people he is compatible with soon, poor guy seems as delicate as either of the goatboys and he could use some support.

At the end of the day, I still want to save the goat child, and for gods sake if toby is putting out a new game a man can hope, even if itll never happen.
Gotta keep your determination shining on my boi
what actually caught me off guard was the fact that he swore at all, I was laughing my ass off https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/224422/5962434e-6511-47de-8895-80da59f52061/puzzle.webm I can actually kind of empathize with that kind of rage
I know Toby expressed his doubts that Deltarune could ever match those "feelings" from Undertale but I found chapter one to be just as engaging, exciting and heart tugging as when I first dived into Undertale. Toby's just really good at making lovable characters!!!
He says that, but he drops that "don't forget" at the end and I'm right back into full conspiracy mode.
Can Susie come over to my house and beat me up? I have cake...
