The book is hella good [editline]18th November 2016[/editline] Just felt the need to pop in and say that okay bye folks
Are there more wacky early renditions of characters/places? Seriously though, I'm picking up that book day one. Art books are one of my favorite things. All I really want to see are more early stuff.

Confused from one of the earlier posts: Are the Kickstarter bonuses already shipped out, or will they be released in the near future?
Confused from one of the earlier posts: Are the Kickstarter bonuses already shipped out, or will they be released in the near future?
As far as I'm aware, they should be released in the near future.
anyone kept up w/ this? http://lynxgriffin.tumblr.com/post/145243002663/dogs-of-future-past-masterpost
anyone kept up w/ this? http://lynxgriffin.tumblr.com/post/145243002663/dogs-of-future-past-masterpost
It's alright, good art, does what a lot of undertale fan works do though and takes huge liberties with the universe. Also its progressively gotten more campy whilst clashing hard with trying to maintain a serious tone and story. It does have some genuinely good moments however.
It's still pretty good regardless, and the artstyle's pretty cool too. Plus I like how they wove the "lost content" into the story. Also, the main Undertale branch does leave a fair few things open to interpretation by leaving out specifics in certain places. Such as how long it's been since the Underground was sealed, or how long it's been between the "Royal Tragedy" and when the main game starts. I will admit though, I never got the impression that it had been that small a gap between Asriel's time and Frisk's time, as presented in Dogs of Future Past. (I wonder if LynxGriffin will make an "Adogalypse" follow-up?) In my head I figured that it had perhaps been at least a generation, maybe a century, since Chara fell. Though admittedly, I too have taken some liberties concerning my DoctorTale work, but upon retrospect maybe 200 years was a bit of a stretch, even for my particular branch of observation. DoctorTale's still on hiatus, mind, since I'm still 17k away from finishing Hunter's Moon. Damn Cardinal's been chewing my ear off to get me to finish it, and I'm afraid that he might decide to hop stories to give me grief once November's over. Hoo boy, he doesn't know the HALF of it. I've seen the current end to his AU, and the tale's ill-conceived, to put it lightly. I might have to do a little "editing" while he's busy with Ben and his little hack 'n' slash crusade, maybe even rewrite the planned ending. -The Cardinal. XO

XO
It seems fairly obvious that the underground had quite some time to stew post-tragedy. Seven children fell and a great deal of the population didn't even remember what a human being looked like. Taking liberties is obviously the name of the game when it comes to fan works, nothing wrong with it, it just irks me when I see something that I honestly believe a character would never do or say, or when a fan work makes a huge assumption on something like how souls function. There are some parts in that comic for instance that are obviously written in just for the convenience of not having to work in more panels. I'm just a stickler for those kinds of things though.
Today, I decided to write a very short story connecting Toby Fox's two greatest works, one of which was Undertale. [sp]The other is "The Baby is You".[/sp] I wrote it all in one sitting, and posted it to AO3. I both relish and hate the fact that I wrote this. Is that normal?

So there is a "Villain most in need of a hug" Award on steam. Hmm
It's funny how Undertale can actually pass for most of the awards. Hugging the villain, Did not expect to cry, WHOA DUDE! Even the Best use of a farm animal is relevant.
So there is a "Villain most in need of a hug" Award on steam. Hmm
That's for Hatred. I voted Undertale for the "Best use of farm animals" award.
undertale would fit like 8 of those 9 categories tbh
Nominated for Villain needs a hug award. Fitting since you actually get to hug him at the end but I can't think of another game with a villain I bothered caring so much about. [editline]24th November 2016[/editline] That said, when this game keeps winning more awards it makes it a lot harder to forget the pain and move on. I've said before that I was holding out that the KS gear would lead to an update, yet here we are. At least Japan is getting an update.

Sans is a mother confirmed.
So as a skeptic I bought undertale and I just have 1 important question... does it get better because the game basically gave me a really good appetizer then gave me an rotten undercooked steak. [sp]The beginning was just really fucking good. It showed me mechanics where you can do things peacefully with talking or do things as a brute with attacking which gave me high hopes about the game. Toriel was honestly the best part so far just because of how interesting her character was but that was probably unintentional on my part. That means a lot coming from a guy who calls people incestual goatfuckers for liking Toriel. I found her sheltering to be really creepy, but I felt bad for her because she probably lost a child or something. I wanted to call her out on it but the only options were "PARTICIPATE IN THE ILLUSION" and "TELL HER TO FUCK OFF", so I had to tell her to fuck off but still I liked it. When I was trying to prove myself, I ended up mucking during the minigame and that actually enhanced the experience. If you go below a certain HP the projectiles then just intentionally avoid you which was pretty clever given her sheltering character. I ended up killing her, which actually made me feel bad because I think that was optional but probably not...[/sp] [sp]But... then you get Sans and Papyrus and jesus fuck the tonal shift was just offensive. I know where this is going to go: Papyrus is lonely just wants a friend, his younger brother is trying really hard to get him a friend which is pretty lame. The gameplay is awful because the enemies have 1 solution when earlier I thought there was multiple. I just had to stop playing it because I genuinely felt offended that there was a downgrade in story, writing, and gameplay.[/sp] [editline]4[/editline] Like honestly I just loved the game solely because of the first part. That's a good $5 right there. I just don't want to tarnish my enjoyment of the game if the game is exactly like the second level.
