are you sure it's fack? i'm trying but t won't work
Capital F on Fack
connection keeps timing out or something
Damn, then it's my shitty net that keeps you from joining.
i'm trying to host a server, not sure if it actually will show up though pass is face123 you'll know it if you can see it
Getting the same error you had. :/
Now there are three servers online, including one without a password called Niggertown. Guess some imageboard caught wind of the game.

There really should be a ban option in this game.
i'm hoping the dev has that on his priority list [editline]19th October 2015[/editline] next to "fix the shit netcode"
Hosted a game for a second, but not sure if people can connect. It's really fun though, despite being simplistic. My sub was swarmed to hell and back by a bunch of monsters, they busted all kinds of holes and I ended up just trying to quarantine them to a specific area of the boat. Hope in the future there's hatches at the ends of ladders so you can stop the vertical flow of water. Also, portable pumps that can be connected to valves in the walls so you can take a pump from room to room and focus on specific areas.
Got to play with a bunch of people today, was a lot of fun. One traitor round ended up as a fight between the 2 last people alive, nobody knowing who the traitor was. I thought it was the captain, but it turned out to be the other guy. Hell of a fight, sub completely filled with water sitting on the bottom of the ocean filled with dead bodies and there's 2 dudes duking it out with welders and stun batons. I ended up playing with just one other player, we got a mission to kill a thresher. Basic stuff. But when we arrived, the opening to the area with the thresher wasn't big enough for the sub. So we had to exit the airlock and swim to him with harpoon guns, it was intense as hell. Ended up being 2 threshers so we got fucked. Following match involved retrieving an artifact, marked the first time I ever left the boat, swam well out of visual range, and returned safely. Successful mission to. The sweet spot is definitely 3-4 people right now, can easily handle everything with that number. Any more and people just get bored, eventually overloading the reactor and/or creating breaches to drown everyone.
yeah the game gets really intense once you get into it one thing i've been thinking about that'd be good for this game is huge underwater stations. you'd have like a large station enough for 10 or so people to do things and a few docked subs to do missions [editline]19th October 2015[/editline] and maybe a few more missions where you have to eva out to complete. like investigating sunken subs and retrieving things

Took me a long time to make a move since shit was being guarded and I couldn't figure out how to get the detonator wired properly. Eventually I got the reactor while everyone was distracted and a few pumps while no one was looking. This game is fun as hell. Also yeah, the game just seems to have unplayable lag when it's above six players like another FP poster said.

This is going to be fun. :v:
You take the server down rage? Came back up right after I posted this, scratch that.
[QUOTE=MaverickIB;48938795]Hosted a game for a second, but not sure if people can connect. It's really fun though, despite being simplistic. Also, portable pumps that can be connected to valves in the walls so you can take a pump from room to room and focus on specific areas.[/QUOTE] tbh with the way pumps work currently, there's literally no need for portable pumps. I find that no matter how fucked we are with breaches, we can usually lock off the breached rooms and have the main pumps clear the rest of the sub (cause they pump fucking fast). Plus welding stuff up is relatively simple once you know how to properly equip diving suits. Only real problem I've ever faced is against threshers and those small lobster bastards. They're both real hard to hit with railguns (I don't even know if you can hit them), so our sub usually gets destroyed by attrition. They just breach a bunch of places and the lobsters come in and start murderizing everyone. Molochs and huge sea monsters are a breeze to me, but whenever the quest says kill a thresher, I know it's always going to end badly. [editline]20th October 2015[/editline] also, this game is in dire need of banning. people can just easily change their names and make it a huge pain in the ass to actually kick them - and kick doesn't even work. had one guy incessantly trolling the game I was hosting and he just kept changing his name. he'd overload the reactor, perma-open the airlock, plasmacut walls. it was fucking annoying. he then went on a rampage as security, just stunlocking everyone, and I couldn't do jack-shit as the admin, except start the round over. I usually host a public game and then weed out the griefers by observing a couple of rounds. once I figure out who they are, I either issue a "kill on sight" order, or try kicking them (which sometimes works) and then tell the remaining people I'll be rehosting with a password.

I'd like pumps to require proper authorization though. Like anyone can turn them on and off, but only a select few (Captain, Engineers) can change their output / input. Would make it harder for people to just cause them to flood the ship. Really enjoying this game though and I'd love to see it further developed. It has so much potential. Better netcode, more jobs (Chief Engineer, Head Mechanic, Doctor, Explorer, maybe a Scientist-like job that allows you to research new techs to improve the sub), I really liked that idea one poster had about the permanent underwater bases with docks, to allow you to have larger maps and a bigger player cap. Some people stay back on base and a select few experienced crewmembers head off on quests. If they died, they'd be cloned on base or something and it'd hit the group financially cause you'd have to cough up for a new sub. [editline]20th October 2015[/editline] The game is fun enough that I'd be willing to back it. One thing I'd like to change though is the clumsy ragdoll physics. I manage to knock myself down to half-health most games cause of running into doors and falling off the janky stairways. [editline]20th October 2015[/editline] Can you imagine a gamemode where a team of 3 gets spawned outside the sub as traitors? They have flippers and scuba gear and have to break into the sub or base (I always thought breaches in the sub should allow players to enter and exit out of the holes, I don't think you can currently). Would make a really awesome traitor gamemode. They can observe the game and then choose when to deploy, so the sub crew doesn't know when they'll hit, or if it's going to be an onboard traitor or infiltrators.
i want to also have bases, I assume the citys and stuff will actually have interiors at some point, so atleast theoretically you could leave someone there. Also we need a brig. Badly.
you can enter through breaches iirc and i think one of the subs has a brig
[QUOTE=elitehakor;48942496]you can enter through breaches iirc and i think one of the subs has a brig[/QUOTE] no and no

[editline]20th October 2015[/editline] also you can just make a brig. just have a single room with one switch on the outside
yeah but none of the subs come with one and you can't build no rooms and most of the rooms currently serve a purpose
There's an editor for creating your own subs though. I'm working on one that emulates the layout of a real submarine more closely, though I'm afraid of making it too long. Does anyone know if the level generator analyzes the size of the submarine? I'd hate to make one that can't fit through basic tunnels.

[url]http://www.hisutton.com/images/Typhoon_labels2000.jpg[/url]
It actually doesn't end up being too long following a normal submarine form factor. Obviously machinery like the engine takes up far less space in the game, and there's no sonar, galley, hydraulics, sans system, etc. I've actually run into the problem of taking up MORE space with stuff to make it seem more cluttered like a real sub. Looks bad to have long empty passageways IMO, submarines are all about efficiency.
Played some of this with my friend last night. It's surprisingly good for a game this early in development. [QUOTE=elitehakor;48941498]yeah the game gets really intense once you get into it one thing i've been thinking about that'd be good for this game is huge underwater stations. you'd have like a large station enough for 10 or so people to do things and a few docked subs to do missions [editline]19th October 2015[/editline] and maybe a few more missions where you have to eva out to complete. like investigating sunken subs and retrieving things[/QUOTE] I really like the idea of a having a kind of underwater station that serves as a hub instead of a bunch of cities. Maybe small outposts on the surface to trade with instead of cities and the underwater station being the area you take missions and depart from.
I like the more centralized SS13 feel, I don't think bases and whatnot would fit too well with the design of the game. However, finding wrecked subs or maybe small abandoned bases you have to suit up and explore would be awesome. There's something genuinely terrifying about leaving the boat and swimming a good distance away, you start to wonder if you'll have enough air, if you'll be attacked, or if you'll even be able to find your way back. The idea mentioned earlier that's like SS13's Syndicate mode sounds really cool too. Have a small number of guys spawn in a mini-sub or base outside of the main one with tons of lethal equipment, then have them assault the main boat. However, some things would have to be changed. I find it particularly silly how the reactor is always off to the side near the edges of the boat, when it really should be in the center as the most protected area. It's the heart of the boat and should be treated like so.
