I recognize a few of you. I was on a boat with bill.
Also, to use headsets, you just start typing with "r;". It should make your words type in yellow. As for breaking up, the distance only goes so far in the world.
oh ok, doesnt seem like the game tells you that anywhere so we didnt know how the fuck to use it
What do you do in the tutorial after fixing the leaks? I tried to complete it like 3 times and it didn't let me so I kinda just abandoned it. Am I missing out on a lot or can I hop into a game?

If I remember right it teaches you how to fix busted electronics, junction boxes, and engines. Then how the bilge pump works.
For the electronics/junction boxes, just be an engineer and have a screwdriver and wire in your inventory and press 'E' on the broken electronic, it'll pop up a button to fix. Hit that button and you are done.
For the bilge it's usually set to -100% and turned on to have it pump out loose water.
For the Engine/reactor it's like the electronics but instead you have to be a mechanic and have a welding torch + screw driver (I think, but it tells you what tools you need)
After that you are basically set.
Is there any reason why speaking through the radio isn't just a bind key? It's like that in SS13 because of limitations. Seems weird to implement it like that just to have the similarities.
What's wrong with having T for talk and Y for radio, seems like every time i play this game with somebody new i'm having to explain how to use the radio several times.
Still a great experience, highly recommend giving it a try.
you shouldn't have to explain radio, every time a new round starts, it says it right there in the text box "type r; to talk on radio"
Yet, i still have too every time i'm playing with somebody new. I think it has more to do with being overwhelmed with everything as soon you start the game, so stuff like that flies under the radar.
I'm just saying, it's been more of an issue than it has to be.
I would assume it's because it's a standalone item that might not be on you, but even then that's no real reason for it not to be a separate bind that just pops up a message if you don't have it.
So I asked on the discord, and by what I understand they are probably waiting to make a proper radio channel system before bothering to mess with the radio stuff anymore.
Just tried a bit of this with a friend, looks super fun, although I died in the tutorial while wearing a diving mask, presumably from the pressure
Gunna try and get a few more people together and run a game. How much longevity/content is there in a non traitor mode, and how well does traitor mode work?

i had a friend that was traitor have his objective to kill himself ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I really should just host on my dedicated games box this game, its fun as fuck to play heh, and 16 FP'ers playing would be chaotic. :v:
Got the server up, just needs players. 98.178.160.112 is the IP.
ive been making a successor to a dick sub ("alpha male") someone on /v/ made although less shitty
[t]https://i.imgur.com/hlrN6iy.png[/t]
its hard to make it resemble a dick when you have to work around hulls being finicky bastards and the only shape you can do is squares/rectangles
can't for the life of me make this game fun for my friends and i. there's a total of 4 of us, and each round ends up exactly the same: we get a breach, we crash, more breaches occur, we die.
it's hard to find a sub that 4 people can comfortably maintain. feels bad.
[t]https://i.imgur.com/3pvNuHb.png[/t]
now it truly looks like a dick, and i made the railguns in better positions
anyone thats made a sub before know why it would start to sink though once the reactor powers up? its perfectly fine before it starts up, but once it does it starts to slowly sink (but can be recovered and is still maneuverable as normal)
i think i fixed it happening previously with ballasts being uneven, but im pretty sure the ones here are equal, so i dont know what could be causing it
I'm going to try this. Got a server or anything?
Criken made a video from his stream.

Got it. Wear it instead of headset, understood. Can you make a submarine that has a shuttle docked?
I was just playing a story mission worth 10K credits, and I saw a huge worm thing. That was intimidating.

Some subs have mini subs that can dock.
You learn the hard way that the default mini shuttles have way too big of an airlock so anytime you try to EVA out of one it drops like a brick and kills everyone on board.
If someone doesn't kamikaze the respawn shuttle into a wall or the ship, someone will open the airlock.

Ok. Any formula for making these submarines? Like the ballast and such?

a bit old but still helpful. for ballasts the bigger it is compared to the sub the more responsive it will be (and the more pumps you put in it help too i think)
My submarine crashed. I'm trying to get the pumps working but my reactor won't start. Dosen't anyone else still play this game?
Stupid me the fuel rod was depleted.
Does the depth charge still explode after hitting something dropped outside underwater or must it be launched?
They should make it you can pay to train your personnel in story mode.

Reactors also don't work when submerged, you'll need 3 fuel rods to kick start the reactor if it is submerged.
Just found out about the game today, if FP has a server i'd be down.
I'm working on an ugly submarine. I'll show you guys more when I have more done.
Man I've played a dozen single player missions, only one success. About to have my second success when I brought a thermal artifact on board.
rip.
[sp] apparently thermal artifacts combust spontaneously, causing the room you're in to catch fire, causing burns to the guy holding it, etc. I didn't know what the fuck was going on so I ran to the back of the sub with the artifact, everything was on fire oh god[/sp]

Put it in the ballast tank, I'm not sure but I don't think a room can catch on fire if it's underwater. That's my logic anyways. Also I maybe have like half of the rough shape of the submarine I started right.
Also I'm trying again the hunt the beast from the deep mission and I almost have it, I stocked up on nuke shells but I keep suddenly seeking. Don't know why.

This was the bastard I put out to pasture.
Also. This is the submarine I'm working on.

Can I gather raw materials in this game somehow? Or roate railguns in the ship editor? I need some facing aft and bow.
Is there enough interest in this game for a FP server? I'd gladly host one pretty regularly if so. Agree/disagree vote?
Does anyone have like a material chart for what you get for deconstructing stuff? I've been playing this with a group of like 3 friends and am super enjoying it but we tend to run out of shells in engagements and I'm not sure how to restock them other then just making new ones, but I don't know how to get the materials to make them. Also, is there any sort of credit system in the multiplayer or do you only get what you start with? We tend to burn through the nuclear fuel rods pretty quick and from what I read you can only buy more uranium.

outside of some specific mats found in ruins i think you only get most of them if theyre provided on the sub, i dont know if shell mats are one of them but i tend to use subs that have mats provided anyway
