its awesome how far the game has come since the extremely early versions and i cant wait to jump in again and see what the editors are capable of now.
lots of people complaining about the price point ($30, discounted to $25 for a week) and i kinda have to agree, a bit steep for a game that literally just came out on EA. dev said the $15-$20 was an estimate but i think that would have been a perfect price. doesnt help that he decided to "hide" the price until it was actually out on steam. people are saying the gameplay content is equal to what the last free version had too, dont know how much truth there is to that though. cant really justify to myself having to spend $50 ($60 if i dont buy it within the week) for myself and a friend. im sure i would enjoy it, but the game doesnt really seem like the kind to me to be priced that high, especially on day of EA release. i mean, for example, deep rock galactic was priced at $25 from feb 2018 - march 2019, and only went up $5 after adding in a massive amount of content. that game has a shit ton of content right now and tons of replayability in it, and one can sink hundreds of hours into it easily. i dont think barotrauma can really size up to that tbh. and this is only the EA price, if theyre planning to still be on track for full release in the fall therell be a price increase there too.
I rate this new game version spook/10 https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/237476/b77ea284-b8de-46e1-b9ea-a55d2e6fb165/Barotrauma 06_06_2019 23_39_45_Trim.mp4
Well aside from the game not picking up my mic for whatever reason I love it, remember the oldschool beta. Its come a long way.
Yeah, played a few salvage runs on the Dugong with some friends last night, and we had a blast. We never managed to successfully complete a mission, but we came damn close in our last run, until a combination of an attack by monsters and a very hazardous artefact (Either of which we could have survived separately, but together ended us) put paid to it.
The artifact was literally filling the compartment with fire if it wasn't flooded. Said compartment was the only way I had to get out of the ship. I took the only sensible option and put every fuel rod we had into the reactor and watched the light show.
ive been fucking around with the sub editor again and man its really triggering me with how often pieces dont line up with each other 100%, it really needs proper angle adjusting https://files.catbox.moe/aathud.png https://files.catbox.moe/9vgxuk.png
Problem was the monsters who kicked their way in through our airlock also pushed the artifact down into mission critical rooms and no one noticed until we had unflooded the rooms and everything caught fire.
I've been interested in Barotrauma, and I'd love to get together with my friends and play it, but ~$40 CDN is gonna be a no from me. It's a struggle to convince my friends to take a chance on games at half that price - no way I'd get them all to buy in for something we might play once in a while.
yeah they definitely borked the price, almost didn't buy did mainly because a few friends and i were already very down with the concept. if a single one of them were lukewarm i doubt any of us would have pulled the trigger on it.
