Metal Gear Megathread V - Kojima's been wanting out since MGS2
Wasn't Survive on mostly positives reviews before?
It seems to have now jumped down to mixed
I would assume it's because of the "$10 save slot" fiasco that's being blown out of proportion.
Mgsv didn't even have additional slots, and since survive saves are online it's server space you're paying for
At this rate I'll be able to buy it with free coins in no time anyway, definitely by the time I would want it bad enough to drop money
[editline]27th February 2018[/editline]
I think charging for extra deployment teams is worse
I can see enough people picking up the game and not giving it much of a chance because of pre-conceived notions to drop it three or four hours in while it's still kind of a slog.

I like talking about survive with my friends and defending it, but c'mon. An MGSv save is eight megabytes.
they apparently nerfed hard missions to be both more difficult to s rank as well as even less loot for doing so
rip
Man, that really sucks. If you're gonna make the missions harder, shouldn't the rewards be greater?
It still bothers me we can't have longer hair. You think if it would be more fitting considering the survival aspect. I mean Reeve himself has long hair!
That is unless you do get the option too and I just haven't gotten it yet

Didn't MGO3 get a few hairstyles as hat options eventually? I wonder if those will end up coming back as accessories.
How do you raise morale with your people? Almost everyone at my base has low ambition. I feel like people are going to start leaving or something. Like what the fuck? This is the only somewhat safe place these people have and they're acting like bitches.
alright so the rewards table for coop now shows 1 orange, 2 purples, and a blue for s rank in hard.
normal shows 2 purples and a blue.
awesome work! this model's views really bring out the Liberator inspiration for the EZ gun. Is the vox box Naked Snake's radio in 3? That'd be a killer prop with an aluminum base and a nice snappy switch.
Thanks, and it is! It'll be all metal, and I want to make it functional.

Mgsv is only half online
Mgsv is only half online
I wouldn't even count FOBs as half.
k so did a hard mission.
in order to s rank you have to have the boost on the digger going for the entire time on all 3 waves.

Well that's nearly impossible unless you take out the Mortar dudes the second they spawn in. One stray bullet from them could fuck you over.
when you lose hope you generally dont have much ambition yes
But seriously though, is there any way to raise it? I feel like I'm missing out on special perks or something from my teams.
I wouldn't even count FOBs as half.
Fob isn't all. There's also an online resource inventory and PF battles. Even if you haven't touched mgsv in a year or two your save is still doing things on konami's servers. That's all I'm referring to. It seems like MGsurvive is doing something similar. Base camp resources move even when offline.

It seems management is harder when Kaz isn't around. I've just been stacking shitty people where I need them now. Hope it's progressive like MGSV and we get better guys the more we have
For all his ramblings about Cypher being behind everything that goes wrong even when it isn't Cypher, he sure is good at management.
so for anyone who let the defense team do the base defense, is it really just having a higher defense number?
seems like it. All I lost was a fence...
I feel like the defensive/offensive numbers aren't really accurate. I put a bunch of turrets on the side of my base where it said I was going to get hit the hardest, and it turned out to just be a conga line of slow ass bombers that I could easily take out myself.
Mgsv is only half online
I meant Survive, sorry. There's a folder within the game's directory for saves.
think of it more like buying another fob instead of a save slot, because the resources are shared between characters (even if you delete one you'll keep all your resources and recipes) and the second slot acts as a second fob like in mgsv.
[editline]28th February 2018[/editline]
also they changed bdu requirements from fabrics to cotton fabrics.
Holy shit, the RNG gods have smiled upon me. I got my first orange gun! Unfortunately, I can't craft it until I get an advanced weapon workshop, and level up my development team.

not gonna lie I dislike the fact the game is so content starved for the entire plot because they reserved most of the guns for the post-game
I really, really enjoyed getting Home, and it would've made a fine definitive ending had I gotten more stuff in the 30 or so hours it took me to get there. I got like three bows. One rifle. The game rides on making numbers go up and getting shiny new toys, the toys are clearly there because TPP had a fantastic variety of guns, enough to make the fact none of them were real and licensed not so much of an issue.
The same applies to customization. The first gun I got with unlockable perks required me to be level 30 to mess with them, and even then it asks for 600000 KUB for each. I could do five solo runs of a scavenge run and get enough broken guns that one will fit whatever purpose that crappy shotgun had, with more and better perks for a minimal cost.

the perks are broken, they're active even if they're locked.
so the emergency maintenance was for readjusting the reward table for hard difficulty.
faster service than in mgo3 wew.
[editline]28th February 2018[/editline]
it's back to 1 epic and 2 legendaries like it was originally, at least on the reward table screen in mission select.

[sp]Oh cool, they have a Mad Max armor set! *scrolls down to the female version* Oh.[/sp]
anyone tried jaeger with rain of arrows and all of the arrow skills?
lot of points to invest incase it's terrible. Plus does a bow better than blue exist?

Fuck, man, those look so cool but I know I'm gonna have to grind the rest of my life away to get them.
They halved the number of ammo you can carry with the shotgun. It kinda sucks as it was my main weapon :(.

Get a chest piece that can carry a large mag pouch, and you can pretty much carry the same amount as a small pouch before the patch.
Are the rewards listed just what you have a chance to get? I did the weekly co-op mission and got an S and all I got was a bunch of blues and greens when it says S rank gets you some purples.
