A sad day indeed. Now how am I supposed to enjoy watery soup?
On this topic though whats up with some of these recipes for certain items like Gerbil soup? One of those recipes requires the meat, 5 onions, and 8 milk for the same sprint buff you get from a soup and only ~900 thirst and ~500 food. You get so much more just eating everything raw. Do they have some really high survival bonus to them for sending out with your exploration teams?
Yeah, cooked foods have really good scores for the exploration team.
So uh, stay away from base dig 6 unless you're loaded with elemental ammo. Each wave has those invincible wanderers that can only be harmed with flame, freeze, or shock weapons. If you don't have any, enjoy watching your base fall apart.

Im guessing the Electrical fences are useful against them? surrounded my entire base in em
I don't quite have my head around the whole end game base defense thing. Am i really just better off defending this whole thing myself than let it auto resolve?

I find the best food to send them with is Gray Wolf, because of how common they are and how easy it is to just stack 10 on your guys. Next to that, I'd say Karakul Sheep are good too, but then you'll have to be sure you have enough to keep a 10 stack, cause you can't mix it with the equally common Neubians and Cashmere without starting a new stack.

After the first one, I just let my base defend itself. Start the dig, then log off in the minute before the attack starts. I've had minimal loses doing it this way, up through Dig 4.
getting your defence team up to B makes the wave numbers stupid low, highest for me on base dig 5 wave 3 is 4.7k while my defence is between 25 and 27k....at this point elemental wanderers are going to show up so im just gonna let it auto complete.
Don't know if you guys noticed this, but those spider things? They can't see, they can only hear. So if you've got a Scout with the perk that silences your footsteps, you can basically just waltz through them like it's nothing. Set them little presents in the form of C4, and walk off and blow them up, hollywood style.
So what's the strategy for defeating Frostbite on the rescue missions? I got lucky and was paired up with a level 69 player, and he took out Frostbite in like 5 minutes by himself. How in the fuck? Even on easy mode, my shotgun barely makes a dent in him.

Sniper rifle or assault rifle with overpressure rounds + aiming for the red tips of the tentacles I was doing some good chunks of damage. You definitely need more than one person's effort to take it down, though.
[sp]That fucking part in ruins 2 man. Holy shit. I wish there were more moments like that.[/sp]
Well that one container side-op and this made my butt clench.

That part got me because I thought all the markers on the detection ring were just the usual [sp] grabbers [/sp] until I moved the camera slightly.

Yeah, I didn't see them until some popped down while I was dealing with a grabber. After I titled camera up and found out the mess I was already neck deep in.
There's another container side op near your FOB in Africa similar to that in that destroyed warehouse. When I first did it, I thought, "Hmmm weird. No zombies." Little did I know that [sp]there were about 20 crawlers clinging to the other side of the wall[/sp] The fact that your base music abruptly stops when you get close to the container makes it even creepier.
is co-op broken or does nobody play it?
I'm playing with a friend and we have trouble finding anyone, both salvage and rescue missions on all difficulty settings on PC. Seems that nobody's playing.
I was having trouble finding anyone on European servers, but then I switched to NA and there's way more people.
Has anyone been able to get a complete OST of Survive? This was the best that I've found:

But this seems to be missing some tracks, which I guess might be from the fact that this soundtrack was scraped from the beta or something. I did find that Konami released an official OST with way more tracks, but only for Japan.
Did you all survive the migration?
Yeah, just gotta go track down all the old threads and see what new posts I missed. Luckily I never got gold, so I'm not missing avatar size.
On topic, I played some Rescue missions last night. It's... fine? I guess. I was hoping for something more interesting, but I guess new content is going to be even more shoestring than the actual game, so I shouldn't expect much.
Did account migration long ago, had everything prep'd and went smooth sailin.
Also, having to use a Drill Hammer most of the time because Medic Tackle makes taking down groups so much easier. A bit less so post-nerf with the stamina consumed and long recovery delay, so I decided to try out the bow. Recently got the Tact. Bow with 3* Attack/Crit Dmg and vulnerable parts perk, and oh boy if paired with heavy arrows... effectively 674 dmg. (800+ if headshot/crit procs.)
On top of using the arrow consumption perk on my chest armor, near-endless barrage of arrows.

Mission Successful, on all fronts.
Your noble sacrifice for 2 potatoes will not go in vain.
A follow-up, I found out that the MP3s are available for purchase on Amazon.
Still haven't found any full uploads anywhere else. Maybe someone did upload it somewhere with a Japanese title, making it not show up on a search.
I just fucked up my MGS3 no alert (and no kills, but that is still going) playthrough because I forgot to wear the crocodile cap and I hadn't saved in like 3 hours.
Kill me pls
so is the bow in Survive just not silent at all?
I like using it but it's really dumb how I can arrow one wanderer with one shot from far away and suddenly the surrounding ones know exactly where I am
the wanderer makes noise when it gets hit.
Now if only we can have custom maps.
I would love to see someone make a mod that adds battles to open areas between rival factions.
Alright, I just finished the game. I still consider it a masterpiece. Man, what a ride. Managed to finish with 0 kills atleast. Raised a bunch more alerts during the stupid EVA escort mission at the end because of a weird checkpoint though. Can't remember how I managed to avoid that back in my last EE playthrough.
Not sure where to continue now. Should I continue playing in order of release (which would mean getting Portable Ops (by the way, is that game any good?)) or should I finish the Big Boss games before returning to MGS4 in the end?
It would be cool to see the Mujahideen actually fighting the Russians, instead of just being prisoners.
