I remember thinking that they were going to make mgs5 expand on the 'stealth in a battlefield' gameplay from mgs4. Would have been incredible.
Man, the grind towards the higher levels in Survive is kind of insane. I'm currently 61, and I need like 4 million kuban to reach 62. They really need to make those payouts higher.
Finished the EZ gun! https://imgur.com/a/7egqE I've been working on my next prop, the snake custom 1911 https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/209925/53c8af3e-98ed-4729-bd4d-91fc55b7607f/tyJl9r1.png
how the fuck am I supposed to hold off for 15 minutes by myself when warping sahelanthropus? they chew through my defenses almost instantly with how many constant waves there are of wanderers normally I'd use my heavy arrows to dispatch them but I can't seem to find aluminum anywhere anymore
I remember seeing that timer and thinking I was gonna be screwed. It ended up not being too bad, I brought plenty of fences with me and I had managed to get a extra quiver for heavy arrows which I think is from co-op. I'd mow down what I could with my arrows, run around, pick up the ones I could, then fall back to the digger. Also remember there are two mortars inside that little base there by default. They're a bit of a pain to aim but you get 8 shots and they should murder anything anywhere near where they land. I used them for some really large packs that spawn or the enemy mortars types. I got through by the skin of my teeth but bringing a Type M Machine Gun, grenades, molotovs, and lures would probably help a lot as well. Lures are pretty great in general.
I got really lucky and had a bear spawn in the river right next to most of their spawn points while doing that mission. I sat behind fences while he just tore the wanderers a new asshole.
I don't even have turrets yet I might make the higher grade molotovs. Right now I only have 2 right gadget slots and 4 left slots, the left ones I use for my fences.
Amusingly enough the mortars on that mission did most of the work for me, I of course had some fences and mines up beforehand, but there were like 6 mortars constantly barraging the rockwall where all the wanderers would come from.
So apparently employment history means absolutely nothing when placing people on different teams. You just put them in different spots until you find one they do well in.
I brought a crap ton of walls and bullets basically. That part is a little ridiculous. I got materials from co-op for it.
Yeah, I might just have to dip myself into co-op for a while to grind for better stuff before I tackle it. I've been doing solely SP so far.
Focus on setting waves of barriers at the chokepoint, wait for them to cluster, then throw a grenade Take care to aim the grenade so it gets most or all of them, but not the barrier. Furthermore, utilize chest-high barriers - you can still swing a two-handed weapon over them. As a last resort, use guns. I had a lot of difficulty with the mission at first, but after trying that trick they never even touched my digger.
Gotta say, Snake Eater on 3DS isn't half bad. Just need to get used to the C-stick not really moving.
I used a lot of fire arrows on that 15 minute defense. You wait for them to all cluster near a fence then shoot one arrow to light them all on fire. Molotovs also work for this; definitely make the improved ones. You can actually carry both kinds at once if you need even more fire. Also place claymores behind the fence, so when it falls, the mine goes off and blows all of the group up to give you a breather. Shotguns also make an excellent "Oh Fuck" weapon for when shit gets bad. By the 11 or 12 minute mark, I was pretty much out of ammo, though, and I was mostly alternating behind hiding from the mortar wanderers behind the outcropping of rock, and kiting wanderers near the mortars timed explosives. Not going to lie, it was rough by the end. It sounds like you need a few more tricks up your sleeve, so you might want to go exploring for more containers and see if you can unlock some more useful things to build.
they released a roadmap april: extreme difficulty for daily and weekly new event also did some balance changes https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/415085549003472897/425583007861178378/unknown.png https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/415085549003472897/425583057161027594/unknown.png
"Decreased difficulty of Digging Plan 6" So did they take out elemental wanderers or what?
Managed to make it through the 15 minute defense with some better gear, a smarter strategy and some mortars I crafted. is there anywhere I can get aluminum by the bundles because I can't find any ANYWHERE and I want my heavy arrows
I think you get a bunch of aluminium by just doing the coop digging missions. I'm swimming in it since I switched over to mainly playing the multiplayer stuff.
I remember a few months(?) back someone along with a few people decided to play MGS3's online component with PCSX2, I couldn't participate at the time so my question is would the same people and others wanna try doing that again? I think it'd be p'neat
The setup is a hassle, which means not many people are willing to play. If you manage to get enough people to play over the weekend I could probably join
I guess I could try and see how high I've specced in speech and charisma and see who I can get.
Yeah, online is region locked so last time we used the US version
I suppose if I can get some people they would mostly be in europe
It doesn't detect region by where you are, you can just run the US version of the game. Besides I wrote my guide for it with the US version so I don't know how the European network disk works.
Where was your guide again?

Okay, so I just reached MGS4 on my MG marathon. And to my surprise, I'm not really enjoying the first act that much right now. MGS4 has always been one of my least favorite games in the series, but I don't remember having any actual problems with it's gameplay. It just feels so weird after playing all the other games over the last few days. Not a big fan of the OctoCamo. And the Rat Patrol guys keep getting killed in the first FROG encounter because the enemies feel really bullet spongey when playing on Big Boss Hard. Can't wait to reach Act 2 and 3, I think I remember liking them way more.

My favorite part of survive is when I'm in single play and I alt tab then lose connection when re tabbing and get kicked to the main menu
Can't wait to see this when it's finished been trying to rip a model of it to print myself.
