That's because we're only playing the multiplayer portion. Singleplayer will be an open world game. [editline]17th February 2018[/editline] The missions we have there's a number 1 and 3, and now we know they're also doing the event rotation like MGSV which had post launch FOB content for a pretty long time if not still ongoing
I think Dave's point was it sounded like the guy he'd been responding to was playing it solo (or with uncommunicative pubbies) - We've been playing together with another Facepuncher (Mericet) and having a good time.
Survive is surprisingly fun and entertaining even with strangers when you can manage to find other players, but I can already see this game going the way of Resident Evil Operation Raccoon City. The game was actually pretty fun IMO and the multiplayer was interesting, but it died out within like... barely even a month. Survive is going to boom at release, get bombed with negative meme reviews, and there will be people that won't buy it because of the whole #fuckkonami. It'll most likely die as fast, if not faster than MGO3 did, which is a shame because MGO3 was good fun, and Survive looks like it'll be a solid 7 or 8. I'd pay $20 tops for it with the gut feeling I have for its lifetime. It's kind of a shame especially since before the betas came out, most people thought it looked like trash but changed their opinions after they got to try it.
play hard mode and aim for S rank is you want the baby sitting experience
I had MGSurvive on my wishlist for months to keep track on it from time to time. Was looking forward for this open beta but when the beta hits the game and the beta just vanished from the steam store. Turns out they blocked MGSurvive in my region. Which is extremely weird considering MGSV TPP and GZ is still available as of right now and MGSurvive was on the store right up until the beta hits. I'm starting to think it's because of that incident where a Thai spoiled an hour of the story last beta
hold down 1 or whatever the button is on pc to swap primary weapons. it uses the same mechanic as the attachment system from mgsv. [editline]17th February 2018[/editline] some notes: you can shoot legs off zombies so they crawl and become slow. their backs are also weakspots, has the same damage multiplier as a headshot. backstabbing a detonator lets you loot their backpack which will either have materials or an ammo box. backstabbing an armored guy cqc's the helmet off so you can headshot. backstabbing a bomber will kill it without exploding. the melee attack with a walker gear will one shot armored and bomber enemies.
The damage done by all melee attack, including the walker gear's, is increased by your strength stat. If you don't increase your strength the walker gear kick isn't strong enough to one shot a level 20 armoured, it leaves a sliver of health. [editline]17th February 2018[/editline]
Leveling strength would be pointless if it only affects that shitty punch. Speaking of disappointed there's no respec in the beta
Strength affects all melee damage. ALL of it.
I hope someone manages to mod all inputs, weapon and gear selection work like it works in MGSV/MGO3 same with the voice/taunt commands. Also text chat would be nice.
weapon and gear selection works the same as in mgsv, just with a new ui. and i like the survive voice/gesture command menu more than what it used to be in mgo3. you have more slots now.

I understand those moves are pretty non-lethal (in MGSV) including sprinting superpunch, but can they at least be a little more useful than merely an attack to get enemies stunned for a little bit? AFAIK the basic punch doesn't even make the enemies flinch, and I have strength upgraded a bit.
to S rank hard you need to get the iris that spawns at side ops, the drill isnt enough.

I think it's just for stunning and crowd control. Interestingly they do do damage in MGSV and CQCing someone too much in that game can kill them.
You guys seem to know more about MG: Survive by far than I do. I played around for a while in the beta, but.. I'd like to know a little about the final game. Do we know if there'll be a co-op free roam mode?

hot tip for anybody that thinks heavy weapons are clunky and slow, get combat step. it lets you immediately go into the first swing if you use it, as well as cancel the long animation after it, and you can combo into another swing after cancelling it.
and i like the survive voice/gesture command menu more than what it used to be in mgo3. you have more slots now.
Wrong, in MGO you get 8 non objective ones and 8 objective ones not to talk about you can change the intensity of them, here you get horrid menu that is garbage doesn't allow you to quickly flick mouse and choose voice command and has everything diveded into horrible small crammed 4 boxes.
Mericet decided to experiment with making obstacle courses and Killhouses (We like to play shotgun tag in the lobby) [t]https://i.imgur.com/5tamz28.jpg[/t]
I'm holding out hope for at least one obstacle that needs to be crawled under, not just as a filter for knocked down zombies but because I suspect the producer's mention of FOBs is going to mean some kind of PvP element that comes into play when you reach the second map, just like TPP.
Mericet decided to experiment with making obstacle courses and Killhouses (We like to play shotgun tag in the lobby) [t]https://i.imgur.com/5tamz28.jpg[/t]
I like how the lobby is basically a game mode. I really hope they do more with it in the final release. Like maybe let you load in some different environments to fuck around in. Some normal environments like Afghanistan and Africa, and maybe some weird ones like a small island with palm trees or the moon.
hit me up on steam if anyone want to group up, im now going to bed so i'll check tomorrow. http://steamcommunity.com/id/Vykorie

I've been playing the beta and it's quite fun but how the hell do you store items?
I've been playing the beta and it's quite fun but how the hell do you store items?
You can't take anything you find in salvage missions out, just the rewards at the end (In the boxes that rain from the sky at the end of the final wave). Otherwise it is just a case of when crafting in the lobby to send the stuff to your storehouse instead.
wish we knew more of this game overall, the lack of feature promoting and advertising is worrying.
and region blocking in the year 2018 is mind-boggling too
wish we knew more of this game overall, the lack of feature promoting and advertising is worrying.
The Giant Bomb guys posted a video last month showing off some single player stuff.
Played GZ and liked it, just bought PP. Where should I go next? MGS3?
25 hours in the MGSurvive PC Beta, Uh oh.
Took a dive into the files since Aatvark's tool got updated within hours of the beta going live. new items I haven't seen. those pants with the metal codpiece remind me of some other outfit but I can't place them. camo icons. seems like there's a promotional or gimmick one at the bottom right?
so the psn trophies are up and it sort of spoils an enemy we haven't seen yet (and also the return of another) https://psnprofiles.com/trophies/7267-metal-gear-survive spoilers obviously if you care about it.
