when is that happening
They said they are starting qualifying matches this month
I'm streaming at http://www.twitch.tv/ridingkeys

it's a payload game mode. https://twitter.com/HiRezMick/status/689230159451402241 people have datamined code and models that relates to a payload several patches ago.

Thats a lot of keys :)
is there really no way to claim a key before downloading the game? I guess it would keep people serious about it but it seems like a gamble to download when all those could be taken...
is there really no way to claim a key before downloading the game? I guess it would keep people serious about it but it seems like a gamble to download when all those could be taken...
No, the only way to activate a key is by downloading the game. Right now the game is just 1gb to download so unless you have a slow connection it shouldn't take you too long, and it wouldn't be a huge loss if all the keys are gone/you can keep the game installed until you get a key or invite.

so the new champion has been delayed?
so the new champion has been delayed?
Seems like it. It's a bit disappointing that the beacon model is almost a carbon copy of the one from Global Agenda but it wasn't unexpected.

It's a bit disappointing that the beacon model is almost a carbon copy of the one from Global Agenda but it wasn't unexpected.
If you mean look-wise: Most of thethe models, visual effects, artwork, etc. are placeholders. It'll probably get changed by open beta/release. Gameplay-wise: I didn't get to play pvp on GA so I can't say anything about that.
patch is live!
They made some mistakes on the changelog, some cards they said were removed from the game are still there and a lot of other cards aren't in the game anymore. There is also one more new card: http://paladins.gamepedia.com/Paladins_Closed_Beta_Version_0.12.773.3 New Card: Mega Turret - [Turret] Your turret now fires heat-seeking missiles at enemies that explode in an area. Turret has +100% Health. Cards that didn't get removed: Concussion, Acid Cloud Cards that were removed but weren't documented: Overcome, Cornered, Exhilarate, Galvanize, Inspiring Speech, Recharge, Distortion, So Much Slime, High Power. Apart from that, (just like when Evie wasn't enabled in the game) you can see Grover's cards (and his ability names) in the Card Collection. By the looks of it, he is going to have two stances (Blossoms and Briars) he can switch with one of his skills ("Briars & Blossoms"), making him more damage/defense oriented. It also looks like they changed his weapon from a lantern to an axe. http://paladins.gamepedia.com/Grover http://paladins.gamepedia.com/Category:Grover's_Cards
Today they released an update to fix some issues with the new cards system plus some other bugfixes. They reset everyone's cards again and gave everyone 20 radiant rolls. They also made card crafting cheaper. http://paladins.gamepedia.com/Paladins_Closed_Beta_Version_0.12.775.2
People got upset when they stopped support for Tribes in favor of Smite back in 2013 because Tribes was costing more than it was making. It led to a lot of people giving Smite shit just because of that instead of the its quality.
I think besides that, the obvious trend following leaves a bad taste in some people's mouths. I'm legitimately amazed Hi-Rez didn't have a mutliplayer survival game. I think they're better than they used to be though. Smite has seemed to do a lot better than their previous stuff.

I'm baffled that the servers are still up despite there being less than 50~ (don't know exactly how many, but its pretty small) on at a time.
Well, Grover already came out. He ended up being a melee fighter with a giant axe as his weapon. Also they recently made the official announcement of Kinessa (she will be a sniper), and also teaser Androxus (an edgy champion that briefly available during Paladins' alpha) Oh, also they added weapon skins to the game. You get them by crafting them with CP (they are point that you get if you roll a duplicate card). http://paladins.gamepedia.com/Cosmetic_Items As for cards: The system got changed a lot with the last bunch of updates. Now instead of picking cards during a match you pick them before a game, and when you level up during a match you instead rank up your cards to make them stronger. There are also now neutral cards that are used by any character. You pick 5 of those cards for your deck, but they can't be leveled up.
Androxus (a character that was briefly available during alpha) just going added to the game with a revamped look.
A new character, Ying, is coming out soon. She's going to get Evie's old ability to create illusions.
They released another character a couple of days ago, Drogoz. They are a dragon with a rocket launcher. They also reworked their main game mode. Now it's kind of a hybrid of capture point and payload.
Two things: A new champion is getting added soon. Bomb King, he throws sticky boms as his standard weapon that can stick to walls and enemies. Two: The Deamhack 2016's Viking Pip skin is going to be given to anyone that plays a match between June 18-20. snip
Paladins is in open beta now, it's available on Steam, and apparently it's also playable on Mac too (but I got no way to confirm or deny this). Right now there is a limited map pool to test some new changes, but they'll toggle the rest of the maps back on later: https://paladins.gamepedia.com/Maps The game has changed a lot since the start of closed beta, too many changes to list them all.
