I hope there will be less Germany vs USSR this time around.
90% of battles last time were those.

A33 Excelsior - You're getting a THICC Cromwell (114mm armor frontally, mostly) with a QF 75mm. You can't pay me to play more QF 75mm tanks. It will be servicable, but not fun.
They could just have easily made it with a 6 pounder. There were 4 excelsiors built, 2 with the American suspension (T1), and 2 with the same sort on the cromwell. There was both a 6 pounder and 75mm built, so you had every combination of gun and suspension.
Also, let's see if they get the engine horsepower right. It should have 620bhp, not 600bhp.
[editline]14th April 2017[/editline]
They might get the armour wrong too.
Give us a mid-tier tank with a 6pdr so we can get its APDS round you fuckers
the conditions for these chronicles are even more shit as the last chronicles event, and unlike last time I won't cave in
fuck this event

Yep, but it's QF 75mm.
Event is not worth anyone's time. Matilda ZiS-5 may be kind of fun, but the rest is hot gàrbage. If you want to play basically the same thing at maybe a higher BR you just:
Matilda II F-96 -> KV-1 ZiS-5
Excelsior -> Churchill VII
PV-1D -> B-34 or PBJ-1J
Yak-3T -> Yak-9T or Yak-9UT
Well, only worthwhile vehicle in the event is Soviet, and I don't play soviets. So I'll skip that one completely :v:

The journey is almost over.:hammered:

Yak-3T will fly better than the Yak-9T but 37mm guns are over-rated. I'd maybe be excited if it was the Yak-3T-57 just because it's stupid but I wouldn't expect it to be good
Yak-3T-57 just because it's stupid but I wouldn't expect it to be good
Yak-3T-57 would make me fly out of my seat to get it since like 4 years later we're still missing AP ammo on the Yak-9K.
I am not plane-smart, how does the Yak-3T compare to the Yak-9U-series or Yak-3P?

:why:
After the massive disappointment the 62 turned out to be, kinda don't feel like the grind for this event

Yak-3 is lighter and more powerful than the early-mid Yak-9s, a bit slower than the later Yak-9s but still notably more agile. Like with the Yak-9T, the Yak-3T had a modified fuselage with the cockpit sat slightly further back to fix balance issues the aircraft had with the heavier nose armament, so expect it to be a little bit less agile compared to the in-tree Yak-3/P
I imagine the bigger gun will come with a raised BR, too, so keep that in mind

Time to suffer through a bunch of vehicles that I don't enjoy using.
Taking turns at sub 200km/h speeds in the wirraway and watching retards crash into the ground trying to kill me never gets old
I just won against 3 idiots by myself because I got them to crash

How's Type 62 a disappointment?
Since they gave it the HEAT and boosted the engine, it's scooty as all hell and can pen everything.
It's very comparable to RU.251.

In a nutshell, Yak-3 is Yak-9 Lite. It's slightly smaller, lighter, but also good deal more aerodynamic. As far as the historical provinance goes, Yak-1 and Yak-7 have been a parallel development, where Yak-1 delivered a bit later, and prove to be considerably better than the heavy ass Yak-7. Yak-3 is further development of Yak-1, while Yak-9 is further development of Yak-7. The airframes share engines and general doctrinal requirements that led to their existence, but the inner design has been two separate teams of people (however, all unified under Yakovlev). For an outside observer you could consider them more or less redundant, but Soviet leadership liked to approve multiple projects to one spec and hope that at least one works out, and when multiple did work real well, they sometimes just rolled with that, and the "team" that succeeded to work on a design sometimes got to keep working on successors for it.
The early versions shared engines, Yak-9U and up got a beefed up VK-107 engine. We also do get VK-107 in that one premium Yak-3 (Historically it's been a prototype that got built in unclear number and likely saw some mostly unofficial combat use as they have been at the front, just instructed to stay out of combat IIRC) and that plane reliably makes wehraboos mad at me in allchat. It's a dragster with wings - climbs like a missile, while dancing in circles around all the stupidly heavy late war German fighters.
It's a question what kinda engine the Yak-3T gonna get. If it's the VK-105 then it gonna be an alright plane with some good bomber-slapping-fu. If the prototype got VK-107, well, I won't break my neck trying to get it as I already have the prem one, but it gonna be a serious deathbringer.
That's a lotta SL for a Tier 1 battle.

RB in my hellcats + M24 is anything but fun since I'm a bad and just wait to get sniped suddenly, but I'll be damned if the KV Zis-5 isn't a different experience entirely. I don't instantly die if someone vaguely throws a shot in my general direction :D
[sp]then planes come out and i show how bad i am again[/sp]

IDK man, M18s are one of the most fun tanks that I've played so far. The speed + decent gun + great gun depression makes it so versatile. I accidentally went into a 7.0 BR game because of a jet in my lineup and still got 6 kills with the M18.
I wouldn't learn to depend on armor because the further you go up the line, the less armor is going to be relevant.

Its mainly been helpful to get practice at playing RB in a setting where a mistake won't instantly get me murderkilled. The M18 can be fun, but I'm still adjusting to RB so it just felt very easy to slip up get dead. I'm trying to learn to use my binocs a fuckload though, especially since oyu can use it to peek over hills quite easily.
Like I said though, I'm mostly a bad :v:

Lol, yup, that's pretty much how it went. I'll take speed and gun over armor any day.
The thing I like most about Tank RB is that I can play bombers and not get welped super fast (like in AB) or feel fucking useless (RB Air). B-25 is especially fun in this gamemode.
I'm slowly getting less bad as I learn to use binoculars a ton. Its bemusing to me though that at these tiers M18's are like 90% of my team, so I usually go with an M24 for my first spawn just to be ~different~
[editline]edited[/editline]
nvm Yak 9Ks chilling at your plane spawn kinda suck.
IMO, the biggest problem with the M18 is that it's really hard to flank on most maps with the close spawns. People just spawn behind you.
are naval battles available yet?

With a paid for early access to pre-alpha, weekends only tests.

that stinks. guess I'll reinstall when it's released to the wider playerbase.
When the booster hits just right :ok:

just got back into this game after almost two years and immediately decided that low tier RB is 100% more fun than anything else in this game.
seriously, the sturmpanzer II is hilarious
