Boy, the SU-6 in tank battles sure is a good way to get the air tasks done. :buddy:

It's especially fun with 140 kbps DSL. :suicide:
Went full fuck-it mode, decided to grind SUMMER event in AB. Jesus Christ is it ever easy.
Trying to play this game in the ps4 was probably the worst idea I've had lol, the controls aren't even set?
I ran into one of the lead devs in Naval Battles and his first chat comment didn't even surprise me.

[sp]He totally earned it, nailed a destroyer like 2km out with a torpedo.[/sp]
First round of grinding done easy.
To do it quickly, I exploited the fact that plane players in RB are actually dumb as insects.
1. Wirbelwind
2. Find a clear but protected place
3. Shoot randomly in the sky every twenty seconds or so
4. Surround sound to listen for engines
5. Demolish fighters that flock to you like moths to a flame

Wilberwind is generally disgusting as at it's tier it's still extremely deadly for like, 40% of the tanks it faces.
So I've played a few games of the G.91 and so far it just feels like a disappointment. It has the handling of a fast plane like the Sabre, but with such a low top speed as to make it unusable. You can't turn with most slow planes, and you can't catch most fast planes. Hell, there are some planes, like the Meteor F.8, and the F2H, where you can do neither! It's simply outclassed.
On top of that, I did an aileron roll with no elevator at about 900km/h and one of my wings snapped off so that doesn't really help
Lets keep in mind the historical context of the G.91. It was intended to be a light fighter-bomber, not an air superiority fighter like F-86 or an interceptor like a MiG-15/17. It was basically intended as a disposable support vehicle rather than something to decide air battles.
Italy needs the Ariete or Saggitario 2 to really make it in 9.0 meta.
I understand that it historically was intended for ground support, but 4 .50s and no bombs stock makes for a poor attacker. It should be dropped to 7.3, like the Vampire

Maybe the R/1 is better? I doubt it
They should really introduce the Skink into the game.

For some 2600rpm 20mm fun.

The SPAAG dependencies feel kinda shitty if you play all nations.
USA is just a pile of "pff" in terms of a plane being scared. You'd have to gently rub your pilot into the .50s or get hit by a stray 40mm, and most of the chassis are deliciously open and vulnerable to 20mm. Your culmination of all of this is a M163 BRRRT machine that sounds cool but is grotesquely less effective than just using the ZSU-23-4 (M163 APDS when you shits.)
Germany is a nightmare, with none of their garbage starting at the Whirble and ending at Kugel, having hullbreak. All are effectively immune from stray passes, and only are vulnerable to suicidal dives at an open turret. The Whirble/Ost are disgustingly effective, and the Kugel/Pather aren't much worse off either. Flakpanzer (the last one) also gets 110mm pen APDS so it can kind of fight tanks.
Russia is also kind of a pile of "pff." The trucks don't exactly have bad guns, but they're trucks, and anyone's elderly grandma can hop in a 7.7mm carrying plane and delete them. You finally get some 37mms with a paltry fire rate, later. The ZSU-57-2 has wildly silly spread to balance it's tank combat, and you end with the ZSU-23-4 which is vulnerable as a motherfuck, but can tear the god damn sky in half.
UK is barely worth mentioning due to number, but at least avoids massive open tops and has two good low-tier vehicles (the 20mm ones.) The Falcon is especially delicious with APDS and only suffers in ammo count when doing some sky washing.
Japan is less worth mentioning than UK. Everything is flimsy and prone to suddenly dying, but they have kind of decent guns I guess? M42 can go back into the trash bin, and the knock-off Gepard is about five stories tall and that much more noticeable while also having less ammo. But hey, it has the fancy suspension.
Excuse me, you appear to forget that the Soviets have the 37mm fully automatic tank-killer that is the ZSU-37. Shit AA, ridiculous against tanks because for some reason, at 4.7 (Where you're still facing Shermans and Pz IV variants, mind you) they decided to give it a 102mm-penning HVAP while all other nations' autoguns barely scratch 40mm.
Yes. The ZSU-37. Which is ridiculously slow, fires a deadly two 102mm pen shells per belt of five (before reloading.) Shells which likely can't pen said Shermans or Pz IVs frontally at any distance other than spawncamp. At 5.0+ you get allied Bofors with like 78mm pen, pure belts, and even double the guns.
It's one of those SPAAGs where if you die to it, you almost deserve it. Kinda like an Ostwind, but at least that can gut planes more reliably. :v:
at 4.7 (Where you're still facing Shermans and Pz IV variants, mind you) they decided to give it a 102mm-penning HVAP while all other nations' autoguns barely scratch 40mm.
You mean the other nations' autoguns, like the Germans who get APCR with 64mm penetration for their Reserve tier tanks, and by 3.7 you get Wilberwind with FOUR of these guns? Or do you mean their Ostwind at 4.7 which gets 65mm penetration flat in belts of purely that (ZSU-37 gets that APCR round only mixed with HE, one in 3), with 23mm at 30 degree angle (compared to the 21mm on the APCR on ZSU-37), with high explosive filler, which often allows it to actually oneshot things?
Or do you mean the American one whole 0.3 higher with 76@0/27@30mm penetration in pure belts, on two coaxial guns?
Or the British with the same thing?
ZSU-37 has been nerfed to shit with the "one in three is an actual anti armour round" and the only thing it's special in is that it can hurt Tiger I shitcans, although in most scenarios it will need a good minute to actually crew-snipe the thing, if it manages to not get oneshot or at least whittled down with 7.7 machineguns. When you talk about PziVs and Shermans, every country except Japan can shred these with their SPAAGs at 4.7 or 5.0.
The double-25mm truck is a better overall vehicle (ignoring BR!) than the ZSU-37 for being fast and actually capable of shooting down aircraft.

its an apt metaphor for my team not just dragging me down, they manage to drown my achievements
[sp]okay im not that good at all but im still coming in 1st/2nd consistently and thats proof my team is shite[/sp]
I wish they'd fix some AA. The Wirblewind primarily but the other multi barrel AA"s too. Historically they fire alternatively, 2 barrels on the wirb fire while the other two reload to give a continuous stream of fire. I'd honestly prefer that than the Splurge it has. And the twin barrels for other nations would fire in sequence to get a more smooth rate of fire, would make AA much more enjoyable IMO.
Especially the more slow-firing ones would do quite well with alternating fire. The Wirb hardly matters since it's so fast anyway, but trying to hit something with twin bofors would be a lot more fun if you had twice the rate and half the volume.
Posing as map assets in the Katyushas works surprisingly well.

They need to bind two guns to M1, two to M2. That's how it worked IRL for quad flak, separate foot pedals for the gunner. You could fire all four at once, but it wasn't really standard operating procedure.

Smoke is love, smoke is life
I am not even fucking kidding when I say I've been playing easily 20+ matches a day and I have not once met the 10 victories a day goal in RB. Nearly every match goes like this:

I am laughable at tank RB at best and even worse at using the planes, and yet I'm still doing much better than my team ever does and its just getting exhausting. I just keep losing and losing despite my best efforts otherwise.

For Air RB wins, play 3.3-4.7 Italy.
For Air RB tasks, play Tank RB, bumrush a capture zone with a light tank or SPAAG, get in a fully loaded P-47D (or SU-6, or Firefly Mk V.) There, that's easy 2000 points, 3 kills, and fast kill stacking.
For Tank tasks, who even knows lol. Just squad up for supporting fires fast in AB, kills come naturally, they're your either gambling on 2000 points or a good kill streak. 2000 points could be farmed in Tank RB by the above plane method and then J-ing out and getting back in an Era III tank (and J-ing out again. 2000 points doesn't require battle activity at all.)
