So about this new event actively keeping me from winning:
I've played the new Chronicles Sicily event maybe 8 times, and no matter what team I choose, I get completely buttfucked by the other team. I fly Germans? Entire team dissolves and I get murdered. I fly Americans/British? Same thing. It's funny though, as even if I do poorly, my team does even worse. Not to say I've not done well in some of these games, as I've at least twice racked up 3 or 4 kills alone before being overwhelmed after the rest of my team fails. I've tried a bunch of different plane combinations, and it seems as though the enemy team consistently outperforms me. Even when I choose one plane, then fly out the plane that I get dominated by, I still end up losing, or my team falls apart and I'm left alone against 6-7 enemies that all have an alt advantage. I even tried just side-climbing for a good 5 minutes so I was on top of the enemies, by which time the rest of my team ran straight up the middle of the map, got killed, and we lost all our tickets. I'm being consistently put on the losing team, and I am entirely unable to carry as hard as I'd need to in order to make a difference. It's infuriating.
I haven't played War Thunder in like, over a year. The last thing I remember happening was US tanks getting introduced in a beta thing.
Has War Thunder gotten any better or is still all same shit with all the same problems? War Thunder has never had a problem with content, so I don't really care about any new content that might've been added.

It's basically still the same game with some new vehicles and a few tiny quality-of-life tweaks.
Nothing overhaul-y or game-changing for the stagnant gamemodes. If you're on an off-moment, keep it on the backburner until they actually do something to keep it interesting other than more new vehicle distractions.

The only redeeming thing about playing Soviets in this event is that you get pretty much free reign in your 9t to make all the German tanks sad, since the German side [I]never[/I] seems to have any considerable air presence.

Yeah it's not that bad. The 8.0 teams however are absolutely terrible. I still really wish it had the wot e100 turret though, I've been killed by a friggen' is2 shooting through my turret face before, despite manually angling it.

Unfortunately, all three of them are Premiums. The only one you can get for "free" is the Mod 1940, which is one of the rewards from the current World War daily events.
