Any news on smokes for the German vehicles that clearly has them? Rakkettenjagdpanzers and RU-251's, mainly.
Nope. They're probably got to rot forever, just like the dozens of inoperable machine guns.
Any news on smokes for the German vehicles that clearly has them? Rakkettenjagdpanzers and RU-251's, mainly.
we need the important questions answered, like: have they given the rear turret MG of the 1940 KV-2 the ability to move yet?
I downloaded War Thunder and played the tank tutorial. What now? Anyone got any tips or recommendations for how to play? Thanks in advance.
What now?
Run. [sp]There's too much to get into, but rounds work like their real-world counterparts and not on hitpoints or anything. So early in, APHE is king, but has less pen than APCR. Use the armor viewer on tanks giving you trouble by "previewing" them in the tech tree.[/sp]
I downloaded War Thunder and played the tank tutorial. What now? Anyone got any tips or recommendations for how to play? Thanks in advance.
Know your enemy, have a look at the tanks that you will be fighting and find out where key weakspots are and other vital targets (e.g. ammo racks etc.). Try to disable the enemy gunner whenever possible. Immobilize them or take out key parts to at least cripple them (gun breech, engines, transmission). This game has a huge learning curve, you will eventually learn most of the game from experience.

Thanks in advance.
Research the quirks and characteristics of each nation before investing significant time into grinding up the tree. Looking at vehicles you'll be commonly pitted against via the armor viewer is always worthwhile. Learn your weakspots and theirs before you learn them the hard way. Your armor may save you from a shell or two, but don't rely on it. The first shell that penetrates will often be the one that kills. Always try to flank and be mobile. Sniping will nab you a few kills, but catching people from behind will nab you entire teams. And don't forget; you're here forever.
And I also have 2 different questions, whats the difference between simulation and arcade, and what does buying a crew do?
And I also have 2 different questions, whats the difference between simulation and arcade, and what does buying a crew do?
Simulation puts you in a first person perspective for planes or a commander hatch perspective for tanks. It also gets rid of outlines for other vehicles entirely so it's harder to spot enemies. Recruiting crew allows you to have more than three vehicles in your lineup.
I feel like realistic is the happy medium between sim and arcade: arcade works well for low tiers, though, since its easy to get through a few vehicles there and matchmaking time in RB can sometimes suck. arcade ground forces feels like mario kart tbh :v:

I got a talisman for my M4A3E2 76 why gaijin why this tank is fucking miserable, imo, because it really has a hard time against everything it faces. the armor is effectively non-existent when you're facing Tiger II's, T-44-100's, Panther's, IS-6's, and IS-2's. They so much as fucking sneeze in your vague direction and the crew is all dead the only upside of the talisman is that it makes getting through the tank now as simple as driving it around in a match and having some semblance of a pulse (so, no better than the rest of my teams) [editline]3rd September 2017[/editline] that tank and trying to play british low tiers are slowly breaking me the archer just fucks with my head: either its fun or complete shit
Yeah, I also got a Talisman for the first Jumbo and, eh, even with it I'm not much of a fan. Would've much rather got it for the M6A1 or the Hellcat.
the archer just fucks with my head: either its fun or complete shit
"either or"? It's both, my friend.

I've had PzIV's trickshot that tiny gap between the frontal plates from across the map.
Got the KV1 ZIS-5 the other day. Sweet fucking jesus what even is balance with that thing. I've got a replay somewhere around here of me literally taking like 30+ shots standing still and only losing my tracks once to a lucky shot. Towards the end a dude snuck up on me and took out my turret ring / crew and engine at point blank and I was STILL able to live long enough for friendly tank to come and club him. Will post the replay once I get back from my tiny vacation.

Any opinions on what I should be researching as a newbie nazi?
PzIV F2 was the stand out vehicle for me when I started playing Germany, aim for that.
That's not right.
Is it me or are the Japanese tanks really powerful? I know it says both of their starter tanks don't have very good armor penetration on their info, but they do some serious damage.
Is it me or are the Japanese tanks really powerful? Would it be worth grinding the T26E1-1 'Super Pershing' or would I be better of skipping it to get the T34 Heavy tank instead?
i'd steer clear of the Super Pershing and just wait until you get the T34, personally - it's a much better 6.7 tank [editline]a[/editline] first game i play in the Chieftain Mk.3 after unlocking the smoke grenades and they save my life. not a fan of how they reload 1 by 1 and extra slow, 'cause it takes so damn long to get all of them back.
Does arcade not have any of the cool stuff like nightbattles and bomber escort missions? I've only seen three maps on the same gamemode on both air and land
Does arcade not have any of the cool stuff like nightbattles and bomber escort missions? Since Gaijin is "considering" IR and night mission, it's possible that low-visibility battles will become more common in the future.

I hope they fix simulator battles as well now they're adding tier 6, I don't see the fun in fighting post-war tanks with my mid-late war tanks
Does arcade not have any of the cool stuff like nightbattles and bomber escort missions? I've only seen three maps on the same gamemode on both air and land
Map Rotation is Era, Mode (AB/RB/SB), Vehicle (Air/Tank), Nation (with air), and even then it's a bit small sometimes per each one. Any weather settings beyond dusk and noon is extremely rare. I've seen night battles I think less than 10 times across 6000+ hours.
Night time tank RB can be pretty fun if you are able to sneak up onto enemies though; but so far, only had that occur very rarely. I get night air RB more often.
