Matchmaker should have an "exotic setting" option to queue for night/low visibility. If radar/night vision equipment is ever modeled in-game, I can see some vehicles bouncing from decent to god tier in a short amount of time.
Man, low tier matchmaking in any game will always be amusing. I was playing AB and camped near some rocks where I had good vision of the bridge the enemy needed to cross to get to the point. Sniped the same guy twice as he tried to make a mad dash arcross (and into my teammates). Said person then preceded to drive all the way across the map to flank me. With an AA truck. I thought a teamate was being a shit

Someone told me that the AA guns are absurdly good at killing tanks in low rank, so I followed his advice and researched the M13 Combined with my flanking, 5 Tanks. 5 Tanks died to my efforts. I barely ever breach 1.
The Flakpanzer 1 and the Gepard 38(t) are pretty ridiculous AA. Their cannons are capable of punching through most, if not, all tanks in tier 1.

A Japanese Ferdinand pretty much.
Are AA viable against other tanks past Tier 1?
Are AA viable against other tanks past Tier 1?
Depends on the other tank and the ammo. German AA will tear apart american TDs, and american AA can knock out german AA by firing at the turret
What are the roles of all the tank types anyways?
What are the roles of all the tank types anyways?
Depends strongly on the tank, but lights are the flanking force, mediums are both flanking and heavy support, and heavy tanks generally are the spearhead/push through force. Tank destroyers are best utilized in ambush and defensive. This is fairly strong generalization though, since there's a lot of oddballs that stand out from the archetypes, like M18 or Ru 251 for example. Generally the most fitting role of your current vehicle can be deduced from the vehicle's armor (and it's sloping), top speed and acceleration, the gun, and it's reload speed. For example if you're a fast tank with average armor, good gun, with, say, 8 second reload, you're best utilized in flanking attacks where you don't overstay your welcome, moving to flank the target location or force between reloads. This is all hypothetical though, because so many variables, and because you can utilize most tanks in most roles.
What are the roles of all the tank types anyways?
In practice, any tank can fullfill almost any role, although it really depends on the battle conditions and the skill of each player. Also, bear in mind that every nation has a slight different idea on how to execute a concept. Germany and the Soviet Union believe that a tank destroyer is essentially a bunker with threads and an engine strapped in, and a big gun with a limited arc of fire that can only be aimed forward. American tank destroyers, on the other hand, give the tank as little armor as reasonably posible, and use the saved weight to glue a big engine and a bigger gun.
"God do I fucking hate IS6's", I thought, as I drove my Jumbo around a match after dying yet again to the invincible bastion of balans))))) that is the IS6. "Bet you I fucking crest this hill and die to an IS6, goddamnit. Guess I can bitch about it on FP", I thought. WELL. FUCK YOU IS6. [vid]https://giant.gfycat.com/ThriftySingleFinch.webm[/vid] [sp]still cant believe that actually happened holy fuck[/sp]
The only good IS-6 is a FUCKING DEAD ONE. ON FIRE.
Got 5 kills in this tank. It's pretty great. [sp]please excuse my talking[/sp]
The BT-5 is probably the best reserve tank I've played yet. Its fast as fuck but can still hurt hard.
The BT-5 is probably the best reserve tank I've played yet. Speaking of light crappy tanks, is there a proper way to use the T-60 and don't get fucked by anything that looks at you funny?
Speaking of light crappy tanks, is there a proper way to use the T-60 and don't get fucked by anything that looks at you funny?
Liberally spray HVAP-APIT at everybody you meet. If you get some flanking shots in, the T-60 makes short work of most tanks at it's BR. Keep engagements close, you can engage light tanks at range if you feel like it but you will always be at a disadvantage. And keep an eye on the ammo. The T-60 takes like 20 seconds to load a belt, so if you have a little ammo left after a fight (under 20 rounds) just fire it off and reload. T-60 is a fun tank when you get to grips with it. Just stay out of the open and keep moving.
I'm going to assume the Light Tank line for the russians stays the truest to their fast glass cannon rule?
I'm going to assume the Light Tank line for the russians stays the truest to their fast glass cannon rule?
I wouldn't exactly say so. The T-50, for example, is a very capable light-medium at it's BR, able to shrug off some hits and dish out a fair bit of pain.
So aparently the new gunners view will be enabled by default, yay! [sp]Hopefully people never find the toggle in settings :)[/sp]
Finally got to the Rakettenjagdpanzer 2. It's just as much dumb fun as I hoped it would be. Zippy, low profile, extreme pen with shit control on the rockets. Great for city point-blank ambush fire, and satisfying as fuck to get long-range manually steered snipes with. Not very good, though.

Where will the Kpz70 start from? MBT70?

I think MBT will be from the M60A2 line, since it's also a missile-tank, and then the M60A1-AOS-ERA will do the regular medium tank line.
I think MBT will be from the M60A2 line
it's after the T95E1

At least on the devblog. MBT-70 was under T95E1(also not connected) I think.
