i was hoping to get the M3 'cause it's [I]slightly[/I] less of a copy-paste (at least it's on a different tree), so ofc Gaijin gave me the SU-76 :(
I keep buying premiums and I think I'm going to cave and buy a Strv81: the low tier British grind is slowly killing me, and the speed you can get up to Rank IV with a Rank IV premium is really nice.
Also tempted by the Wyvern, not for abusing CAS, but because I love turboprops and the Wyvern is a plane I long admired before I played war thunder
I just kinda don't like myself for continuing to toss money at gaijin, even if they're honestly one of the better f2p devs :/

The Stridsvagen/Wyvern combo is absolutely amazing, I can highly advise getting both. A note on the Stridsvagen, don't use it as an ATGM. Ever. It's awful in that role. Play it as a pure medium tank, no different than how you'd play the standard Centurion Mk III. The [I]only[/I] case you use your ATGMs in is when you get a mobility-kill on a tank heavier than yourself using your gun, finish them off with a missile.

You should use the ATGMs any time you can, despite them making you a huge target, but they will pen pretty much anything they hit. If you don't want to give a single fuck, play AB tanks, because the missiles become SACLOS instead of MCLOS control (they go where you point your weapon optics). In AB, they're still just as powerful.
What we mean to say is that the ATGMs can only be fired from a stationary position and you cannot move until the missile loses control (explodes). Not being able to move in a Centurion, shooting missiles at stupid 7.7 - 8.0 overpowered Soviet meme-mobiles, is risky as fuck. Your appetite for risk correlates to how lucky you'll be with the ATGMs. They're perfect if someone kills your driver/engine or gun breech and you can see your target. They can also be fired as fast as you can get them to be, seeing as you only control one until it explodes on your target (or flies for a really goddamn long time if you miss badly).

Keyword being 'anything they hit'. Because they won't hit shit. They are literally unable to hit anything within the first 500 meters of their flight-path due to the upwards-launch, and at ranges beyond that, the steering is simply too wonky to score good hits reliably. You got a well-armoured tank with a 84mm dartgun that fucks up everything at it's BR, there's really little reason to use the ATGM except for really satisfying Maus/Tiger/IS6 executions after you kill the tracks, engine or driver.

they automatically come back down and level out with your aim after being launched though, so you can hit shit just by pointing at it and launching most of the time (assuming they remain stationary)

Which is why they are amazing at long-range executions of mobility-killed heavy tanks, yes. That's my entire point. Due to their horrible flightpath, you're not gonna hit anything mobile or short range, so what you do is gun-kill the engine or driver, then hit 'em with the rocket.

TBH tho, the F2 can hold up easily against anything at it's entire matchmaking bracket, which is a rarity in this game.

IMO, the Stug III G is pretty good alongside with the F2, same gun and has semi-decent armour (Stug G), although flat, can stop some shells especially in a down-tier fighting 3.0s.
The snail gods decided to give me a talisman for the Stug III G and I'm quite happy with it.

Well, ACTUALLY [del]Jingles[/del], the Stug III G has the same gun as a Panzer IV Ausf G late model, or Ausf H and J, the L/48. The Pz IV F2 and Stug III F have the L/43.

I don't, mostly. Ive got enough enjoyment out of this game and it's about two hours of work - and its worth that much, at least.
I am learning that I am not quite good at British tonks but that's okay because I get really shit teams and manage to still hold my own lol

Most tank destroyers around this tier can get wrecked pretty easily, the stug requires the shooter to know where to shoot.
But the place to shoot is something most people should instinctively go for anyways, so....
Wow I'm getting my ass handed to me every match ever since I broke into rank II. Everything one shots me before I can do anything. The only way I could get kills is if I camp spawn.
