Getting one-shotted is gonna be par for the course for you until you reach the Panther, I'm sorry to say. Your strength will lie in your own ability to one-shot tanks that usually require two to four shots to kill. In other words, you should work on the following, in order:
Target acquisition: You gotta see the enemy before he sees you. If you're spotted first, you're toast.
Aim: Good! Now you've seen the Bolshevik pig, it's time to put 7.5 centimeters of death through him, in your first shot every time.
Placement and movement: Not so much flanking and such, that's better left to other nations, but making sure that your tank remains largely unseen and you can retreat to safety relatively quickly, IE; not heading out into the open.

I guess I'll start looking up tank weakspots on youtube then, thanks for the advice!

9 times out of 10 with the F2, if you shoot something in the hull it'll explode, even at range. Stuff like KV's can be a little tricky, the front of the turret or the driver port are the spots you should try to aim for if head on. You just need to be quicker than the other guy and have some situational awareness. Unlock the the track add-ons and smoke when you can, they've saved my ass more than a couple of times in the F2.
Just play more matches really, even if they are trainwrecks, you'll get to grips with the F2 eventually and understand what opponents you'll be facing at its BR. I was exact same when I unlocked the M-18, no idea how I was going to get any use out of it with it's paper thin armour, now it's my 5th best vehicle in terms of overall kills. F2 is second, but I've had that for waay longer.

You can always look at the enemy tanks in game as well when in the hangar; or download the tank polygon map to test your tank against any tank in the game (if you are on PC).

Are you playing RB or AB? if you're playing AB with those tanks, you're kinda just fucked since you can't rely on going hull-down.
Its why i've come around to hating AB except when I need to grind parts/FPE (fuck that still being a thing, though): spotting ruins how many tanks, especially the german mediums and british mediums, work
[editline]11th September 2017[/editline]
also it took practice but holy fuck the ATGMs on the STRV are hilarious fun: using them to pop people only poking a turret out, or dropping them over a hill, is incredibly satisfying and really makes them feel quite useful.

AB, I wanna move onto RB since I really like how camo works, but the matches are a lot longer and its harder to earn RP from them compared to AB.
I feel like they should take out the marker or make it not as aggressive as it currently is in AB. The trajectory prediction thing is an understandable crutch since it takes a bit to understand how aiming works, but the marker removes my favourite part of tank warfare.
"Is that a tank?"
Also, I don't know how useful it is for the germans, but learning to angle has saved my bacon on more occasions than I want to count as I will present after much procrastination:

Note: I didn't realize I was actually in the KV1S, thought I was in the KV1-ZIS5. I would have gotten absolutely cheesed if I just did straight frontal. And yes, I know I was doing a lot of dumb crap in there. It's tank-rb btw.
La-174 is going to be researchable again.
i'm finding myself liking Conway quite a bit more than i did on release
probably 'cause it's not so blatantly inferior to Centurion Mk 10 after the HESH changes, heh
[editline]a[/editline]
Which is why they are amazing at long-range executions of mobility-killed heavy tanks, yes. That's my entire point. Due to their horrible flightpath, you're not gonna hit anything mobile or short range, so what you do is gun-kill the engine or driver, then hit 'em with the rocket.
ah, my b - i misread what you posted

Even worth getting? I know its rare but I gotta grind through the entire rank 4 La tech tree + the [DEL]La 30[/DEL] to even begin researching it. Probably not even going to get it on time. :frown:
La-15 I meant, I don't know my Russian planes

It's an inferior La-15 with an interesting history. I wouldn't recommend anyone bother unless you have the free time and like collecting everything. It's not a premium and you have to put in 200,000RP to get it.

The difficulty cliff is kinda real with RB: at firsts, it sucks and you die to people you don't see all the fucking time and goddamn its irritating. Eventually, though, you get the hang of it. Follow people around that seem somewhat competent (sometimes, camo on a vehicle can be a good indicator) and see what they do.
Success in RB can be achieved through:
- abusing the hell out of your binoculars, since they actually let you see over hills sometimes.
- developing a keen eye for turrets covered in bushes: if not that, watch for the dust kicked up by a tank firing
- planning most of your major moves, and remembering to use smoke shells or nades if you have them
- don't try to solo, especially in bigger RB matches: while it sucks if a team leaves a flank open, you can compensate for that (and not die alone) by covering the flank and remaining near teammates.
Eventually the RP and lions earnings get considerably higher than AB, but its a tough thing to pick up if you're only playing AB. Just stick with it!
Had a ton of eagles, so decided to buy a premium plane. Couldn't help myself and nabbed this beautiful beast:

first match, pilot knocked out in a single burst by F82 lol
[editline]11th September 2017[/editline]
goddamn this thing disintegrates planes
Where is the T-64A suppose to fall exactly, infact has that even been confirmed? I thought it would be directly after the T-55 but I keep hearing people say that Rank VI will be partially detached from their respective trees but still require the ownership of any 3 tier V tanks to access.

It's absolutely beautiful, and has a ridiculous burst volume. Also, it climbs like a motherfucker, you can easily sustain a 35 degree climb for a few minutes. Great for bomber interception.

To elaborate, the F2 has a smoke discharger you can unlock. It instantly deploys smoke on your tanks position.
Unlike american smoke rounds, this mechanic is purely defensive. If you get shot, say to the turret ring, and your tank can still move, deploy smoke, angle your armor to deflect incoming fire, then retreat.
You get five smoke charges, so you can fire smoke until you reach cover. Still a bad idea to go across open space. Only go across open spaces if there are props you can use as cover, like boulders.
I wish anyone in the turret could pop smoke and not just the gunner
I wish anyone in the turret could pop smoke and not just the gunner
If anyone, it should be tied to the commander in most tanks, though that'd be even more bullshit since you'd be unable to use smoke once he's dead, and loader is higher ranking than commander in game so that happens frequently.
I wish anyone in the turret could pop smoke and not just the gunner
ohhhhhhHHHHHH
maybe this explains why not all of my smokes fire off sometimes, if the gunner died mid-smoke or some shit
[editline]a[/editline]
nope, not it - happened again with the gunner alive and well :/

Oh look, another ATGM that I'll never be able to get anytime soon.
Oh shit, i'm updating
I sure love when a 102mm thick armor plate (and a view slit) can withstand hits from 100mm BR-412B that should be able to penetrate 212mm at under 100m.

102mm plate with another 102mm plate behind it, 'cause that's the command one with the added armour
[editline]a[/editline]
the zimmerit, rivets and bighuge aerial on the back are giveaways :v
So I was playing my panzerwerfer and could not help but notice...
Explosions from rockets will no longer penetrate the underside of ANY vehicle. What gives.

That was not a Tiger I H or Tiger I E. That was a Tiger P (or Pz.Bfw.VI (P) ingame. There is another VK450# P premium, but its rare and shit.) It has a second 102mm plate on top of its normal 102mm frontal hull plate. At that slight angle you were firing at, the plate was about 108-110mm thick + 108-110mm of normal hull armour underneath. In actuality, yes, you could have penned that, but it is far more likely that you would have bounced like you did.
Shoot the turret or the diagonal "corners" of the front hull, they are only 80mm thick. This is exactly the same frontal hull design as the Ferdinand, by the way. They took these failed heavy tank pre-production models, took the turret off and made them into Ferdinands / Elefants.
Amazing things can happen when your team actually intercepts threats to bombers.

ty for those sweet sweet Air RB gains
I finally mastered the art of torpedo bombing with the P108B serie 2. The horrible flight characteristics forced me to git gud. The airfield was 3km away before the game even recognised that I had even taken off. The biggest challenge in this fucking bus is keeping it just barely under that 301km/h speed limit for torpedoes. Not because it goes over it, but rather because it absolutely needs that speed to turn around. Even by bomber standards this thing is way too bricky to make hard turns under 100m. On several occasions I went into single digit altitudes, requiring some serious WEP'ing and flip flappery. The most helpful tool was the prograde indicator in first person view to tell me if I was doing the right thing.

gaijib bless, they have recognised my efforts
The nose view meatball is useful as fuck for nailing landings with some more cumbersome aircraft.
Fuck you I'm a boat
