It has always been around, I think. The "gun" and its associated model bits are considered the "turret" on all vehicles (I think), with actual rotating turrets being directly connected to the gun vice versa etc. Casemate tank destroyer's "turrets" (the guns) can still fly off from ammo explosions. I'm reasonably certain I've seen that happen before to the Jagdtiger, among other TDs, long before this patch, especially on the test-drive range where you have plenty of opportunity to actually shoot at Jagdtigers.
Game just wigged out for me and I could suddenly penetrate a t-62s turret frontally with my gepards explosive rounds :v:

What fucking gives gaijin. They claim British tanks reward those with "skill", I beg to fucking differ when it only rewards with bullshit post pen damage. I was hosing down a Tiger II after shooting the same ammo rack with 4 shots, it barely even went orange coloured and all of the spalling shrapnel passes straight through it.
First game in the tortoise did not end well.

i think it would've been far better for them to wait until they had more tier 6 content before introducing it, that way they could balance the BRs out better instead of having such a huge jump in power. as it is now the BR gap from T-55A to T-64A is the same as the BR gap from the Chieftain Mk3 and Mk5 (an upgrade that nets you just 70hp extra, wow!!), and that just ain't right.
Ontos is fucking great. Doubling guns doubles fun, and this has six. I only wish it rearmed faster on a cap point. :v

Was wondering why my M6A1 couldn't take out dick all, and it turns out all I needed to do was switch from using M79 shells, to M62 shells.
The M79's had higher penetration so I assumed they were the better choice, but they were completely unable to disable tanks, just penetrate them. The M62's still penetrate quite well, but take out everyone in the tank in addition, if the shot is well placed anyway.

The last time they had a good sale on, they fucked up really bad by letting Westerners buy the packs in Rubles. They also had several packs that gave you like 2000-3500+ eagles while 1 year of premium was on sale, so you basically could get 4-6 premium vehicles and a year of premium for like $35. I still have like 100~ days of premium left from that, and used about 1700 of the extra eagles, with 1700 left.
I don't know if they will give us good deals again lol.

That KPz optic port next to the mantlet has been such a guaranteed kill for me in my vickers, I love uptiering myself with my hunter and just one-shotting those overconfident fucks.
Also if you HESH the 20mm gun it'll go right down into its ammo storage and ammorack the tank.

alright so I just started getting into war thunder, i'd played it a bit before but not really enough to get a feel
i'm playing the british tanks, which are a blast, but fighting german and russian tanks is somewhat nightmarish
a lot of the time, i feel i have to rely on my first shell killing their gunner or breaking their gun, because if a panzer IV shoots you then you are fucking donezo
it just feels like my shells are somewhat surgical, I have to aim for specific places, whereas their shells penetrate, explode, and kill literally everyone in the tank nearly every time
i don't know if the thread title is a joke but it doesn't feel like one

Yeah that's British tanks right now. Not that friendly to new players, but doable.
Really pays off in the later tiers
