I [I]understand[/I] where they're coming from with that idea. I don't like it, I think it will fall flat on its face if they charge for it, and I know won't be paying for it. However, this is the closest you'll ever get to the idea of paying a flat fee to play the game with everything unlocked in scenarios that make sense, and it solves the extremely annoying problem of having to play to unlock the planes you need. I also have to admit that I like the idea of forcing a historical planeset on players versus them just picking whatever.

The problem is that the context in which is happening makes it look like a huge guns akimbo pair of middle fingers to everybody who believed in and saw how Enduring Confrontation could fix [I]everything[/I] about War Thunder if Gaijin would just get their shit together. And now, Gaijin is thinking about half-fixing it and then putting that behind a paywall.

Pretty awfully, it's a hardcore sim
Battle of Stalingrad has mouse aim in it (it's less over-riding than WTs, you have more direct control of your aircraft, but it's less accurate for shooting) but compared to modded Cliffs the online isn't as fun
Having a hell of a good time on Kusk right now with the arcade tourney thing. Every single house on the map can be shot through, and nobody knows about it. I just sit deep in the town, and snipe them through half a dozen houses and they can't do anything about it.

More importantly, we're allegedly getting boats this year.
All the Cold War stuff just makes me wish War Thunder would spin that shit off into a separate game. I just don't care about what gets added to tier 5 because it's all a clusterfuck, tier 3+ isn't fun anyway, I'll never grind enough to get there, and the game just wasn't designed for those kinds of vehicles to begin with.

Make the game less of a massive grind in tier 4+ for extremely minor upgrades (or none at all) and I might come back.
They should just sepperate World War and Cold war in different tabs or modes or something, just something so World War tanks don't meet Cold war tanks

The IT-1 will also not be very amazing. The rockets are way too slow to use at range, they have a minimum firing distance, and you have to keep your gunsight aimed at the target until impact, so shoot and scoot will be impossible
If Wikipedia is anything to go by, they won't even be all that when you [I]can[/I] work around the restrictions.

Alternatively, the shortest money saving tip I can send you is: [B]Never spend Gold on anything except premium time foremost, and premium vehicles second.[/B] Everything else isn't worth the conversion rate. Never convert Free XP because the cost is absurd. People here are generally knowledgeable about which premium vehicles are shit and which ones are comedic money printers.
Also, the first nation you play - you get shoddy 250g reskin premiums for, for free. They'll help you grind a tiny, tiny bit for the first "Era" of whatever nation you decide to go with. You generally can't go wrong with USSR for easy mode.
