Really starting to hope they actually do opt for another tier so that the cold war shit doesn't get into ww2 games, that thing would be the bane of existence itself.

Can't wait to see an M163 (Radar guided Vulcan 20mm gatling gun mounted on an M113, entered service in 1968) shooting down fucking MiG15's

They don't have a specific cut-off date per se. The devs rely a lot on tech, like rifled guns and guided missiles.
But seeing as how ATGMs are getting added who the fuck knows. The meta of Era V tanks is already so utterly boring and disgusting, I don't see how adding slow rockets with less pen than V's superHEAT is going to change it up at all.
War Thunder blurring together into a "pick the prettiest waifu tank with 300-400mm pen HEAT" at the end of the tree is just about as much of a mistake as when WoT added Tier X Mediums/Tank Destroyers. Which is sad because Era V could be tangibly interesting with only AP/APCR/ADPS style rounds, as armor would come into play and APCR wouldn't work well on heavy slopes which are prevalent - but instead it's just "click on tank while using expensive, very, very long grind ammo 2 win tovarisch ))"
I put this together earlier today because I'm a crazy person and really want a War Thunder like game but with Cold War planes ending in the 80s and was curious what it might look like.
It'd probably look more like Strike Fighter 2's HUD though, because that game is already War Thunder-esque in terms of realism and being a survey sim.

I'd play that.
Go post it on some russian forum and wait for it to be found by some non russian reddit user, bonus points if you put the gaijin logo on it

Working on my shitter itasha tenno heika banzai planes
does anyone know if blank templates with all the surface detail already exist for these planes? Because 90% of my time is being spent trying to get rid of the original paintjob so I can put my own shit on it and its annoying
Try searching #template on the WT Live site

Hey kids, want a Panzer III with less armour?

Bet you do
PzIII is a beast. Was the first tank line I progressed through. The 37 on the early one isn't anything amazing, but it's serviceable. Another one certainly won't hurt.

[SP]PzI when Gaijin[/SP]
The point is we get how many PzIII's there were, all the E's,F's,G's,H's and J's (to name a few) are the same rolling chassis with slightly different Armour/Weaponry.
Whoever works on the German tree must have the easiest job in the office at Gaijin seeing as the model is just COPYPASTECOPYPASTECOPYPASTE
Pretty sure it's a new model though.
Pretty sure it's a new model though.
It's gotta be a lot easier to make a new model based off a chassis you already have like 10 iterations of though, versus something entirely new all together (ala PT-76 for example.)

Considering they make new models from scratch, I doubt it.
For an experienced modeller it should take about the same time to make both.
Considering they make new models from scratch.
Considering you already have, if nothing else a reference if not a template, of the running gear and other components - I'd argue otherwise. And I'm not just talking about IV F1 to F2. With that and the prior hulls, you barely even have to play with scale except in key areas which means less blankly staring at blueprint and design documents.
I mean, they could throw that all away and work from square one - they just wouldn't have to. Gaijin doesn't have a good record with running gear though if you recall the UK scandals. :v:
I wonder what the UK's missile tank would be, and what line it would come off of
I mean if the US is getting the fuckin' sheridan (jesus we're into the 70's), Swingfire maybe?
Phlydaily said it was going to be the swingfire, I don't know what he based that on though
[editline]18th May 2016[/editline]
I guess if they did implement swingfire the 800mm rha makes up for it being mounted on vehicles that could be killed by a reserve tank

Without going to the FV102 or FV438, the FV4010.

I do wonder if they have plans for going full cold-war thunder, seeing as they're adding all this endgame content.
I do wonder if they have plans for going full cold-war thunder, seeing as they're adding all this endgame content.
Probably in a few years?
If they do end up doing cold war era stuff, I hope they make a separate game or something so you won't have to grind all the way up from biplanes.

A little birb told me there's a chance of a Westland Wyvern devblog tomorrow, so hype for that if it's true.
The world could always use more contra-props.

I love how it looks like it would fit right into Crimson Skies.
Too bad it's another plane I'll never fly though.
Regarding some ignorance about the Panzer III B.
They had to make an entirely new model as the proportions of the hull itself are significantly different from the other panzer III already included in the game. The B had a suspension utilizing leaf springs (not torsion bar like all the other panzer III in-game) and was much more lengthy looking design, the fenders over the track are much more squared, the engine deck is much more sparse of greeble and the turret design is far more simplistic. I've included some pictures for comparison. I'm not sure how someone could honestly arrive to the conclusion that it was a rush job of proportion tweaking.
