I have finally reached the weirdest zen after trialing War Thunder through the seven stages of grief. I no longer care about the grind, the balance, the developers, or trying to spade everything. Just a few little low-tier matches for funsies now and then. And Gaijin's not really getting my money until I see a reason to give them some - as I can just produce gold on my own via Calliope.
Or more realistically, I was pissing time until Overwatch came out (today.)
Next patch should be neat, though. Still waiting on that World War mode.

300mm pen HEAT. Funny enough, this ammo could be used on the ZIS-S-53 theoretically. Which would make a T-34-85 1969 a better tank than this in every way.

I keep tabs on war thunder even though I don't play it much anymore, and it's absolutely incredible how many unique vehicles and cool vehicles are ending up as premium ones.

To be fair, I don't think anyone minds when it's a dumb reskin (ace's name - plane) or some rare prototype vehicle that plays atypically, but Gaijin's had a weird track record of adding actually good, produced, vehicles that the tree could use and then shoving them over on the premium side because "lol why not."
Wyvern, Yak VK107, T29, H8K (initially), all come to mind.
Prototype planes tend to be premium unless they are axis. Wyvern is mass produced and saw combat service so it's kind of a kick in the dick that it's a premium
Are there any other turboprop planes in the game? I've only just recently started playing the game again and haven't really looked through the different research trees that much.
I've definetly also gotten hella rusty...

Bearcat and the Tempest aint turbo props. As already mentioned the bearcat is "just" a really beefy radial engine-powered plane with a ridicoulus amount of power.
I might have to cash out and get the Wyvern for bragging rights.
We need more turboprop planes than just that one though.

It was inches away from entering mass production, was in fact approved for entering service, had stellar perfromance, excellent payload, and then Khrushchev took one look at it, said it looked dumb, and the aircraft was immediately cancelled out of shame

830km/h top speed, IL-28 style offensive and defensive armament, and it could carry 8 of a rocket with 80% of the warhead size of the American 298mm rocket. It would do absolutely horrible things to top tier tanks. Literally the only way it could get better is an NS-37/45 in the nose with AP ammo
