Secret American project to shoot down high altitude bombers?
Anyone got any solid advice for playing the Walker bulldog? I'm finding most of my games involve instantly dying and being a huge waste of time. Not to mention dead weight to my team.
I'm trying to play it like a hellcat, using speed to get to edges of the map/using terrain for cover but always someone manages to see me (realistic battles) and I just melt straight away. I think I've had 2 or 3 decent games but the rest (like 15 now?) I've just been one hit killed by shit I can't see.
I'm finding it's mostly russian tanks that fuck me the hardest, mainly as they bounce most of what I try to fire at them and their huge guns just rape me to peices. Bumping into ASU-85s, T-34-100s and the like.
Having a really sucky time so far in this tank, I'm not sure if it's me or the tank. I'll switch to the hellcat at the same tier where I'm technically out tiered and do just fine in the hellcat. Just can't manage it with the Bulldog

Walker Bulldogs are worse than Hellcats once you get APDS, I get rekt by them across the map all the time.

Either P-51's hugging the ground or entirely made up of bombers, or a mix of both.
American teams are the reason I don't play American anymore. Which is a shame because I really like flying the P-38.
It's another "clappers start to turnfight with russians while sub 2km" episode.
So do trees and stuff still render on the lowest settings?
I've got the fin stab shells for the Walker bulldog now, easier to pen people but the games pretty much go the same, go flank - get killed anyway from half way across the map by someone who just happens to be looking that way.

Considering just giving up on this tank and waiting to research the other BR 6.0 US tanks.
Looking at my stats out of curiosity, my k/d ratio has dropped by -1.1 since getting the walker bulldog which is rather funny and sad at the same time
fuck me sideways; i put a talisman on the tu-2s today 'cause i fancied planes for a bit as a change of pace, but now i'm raking in rp so fast i'm actually running out of lions.
half of the tu-2s-44, tu-2s-59, il-28, half of the mig-9, tu-4 - ran out of money after the mig-9, so no tu-4 for me :((
My friend is having a specific issue that I thought I'd bring up here. We can squad up no problem but at the end of each match he loses connection to the chat and can't rejoin the squad until he restarts his game. He's tried verifying the cache through steam and even tried to reinstall with no luck. Any ideas?

I'm still able to fire the tail guns [B]even though the fucking tail broke off and sank[/B] and the guns on the underside also still work perfectly even though they (and their gunners) are fully submerged in water rn.

From my experience, the people who fly it are just really bad.
One of the amazing ideas the people at Gaijin had to "balance" the IT-1 was to give it a sim-style gunner view in RB, including the lack of horizontal or vertical camera stabilisation. They really are afraid of trying to properly balance it, aren't they.

Just played RB tanks in my spaded Tiger I for shits and giggles.
Holy crap this is wayyyyy better than RB, RB is trash in comparison in my opinion to the point where I might actually start playing arcade tanks.

All modes have shit metas, and in terms of planes, hasn't been addressed in 3+ years.
Air AB is whoever brings the most bombers/attackers and bumrushes units/bases. Unless it's air domination, then it's a P2W cycle of who brought the most slots/fighters.
Air RB is basically aerial CS, where there's an objective people can mostly ignore if the enemy team doesn't have enough bombers; so it's mostly a dumb face-off of who can climber harder since both teams ~realistically~ take off on airfields just shy of a distance where they'd be using artillery on one another.
Air SB is probably the best of the lot, but suffers from auto-pilot bombers playing fortress and the concept is still the same as RB - kill the doods until they run out of doods, then autowin.
Tank AB is a "capture the circle!!!!!!!" mode where you can win by a war of attrition if you kill off enough enemy players or cause them to ragequit, but you're likely gonna be sitting for 5-10 minutes making sure a cap zone stays blue. Spice it up with some [I]epic killstreak[/I] bombers, or even worse - groundfucking suicide rocket attackers, to remove you from the game arbitrarily.
Tank RB is basically a mode of trying to kill off the enemy as quickly as possible so they don't get respawns. And tank combat the way War Thunder's construed it here, means making any kind of offensive push other than a wide-berth flank or muckin' about in a city is just gonna get you dead. But this is also a mode where everyone respawns in SPAA and you have silly strategic bombers still facefucking the ground with huge bombs to enjoy.
Tank SB gives me motion sickness and is (was?) kind of RB where people can spawn in planes ASAP, but barely fly them. And since everyone gets set guaranteed spawns, it's actually intrinsically a little better than RB where one fuckface can respawn 7 times if he keeps killing your fodder.
You can also thank whatever dunderfuck at escargo ltd. thought it was a good idea to implement parts and extinguishers behind a grind wall, making RB a suicidal venture for stock tanks.
