The T29 feels disgustingly OP for 6.7 now that the spall shield behind the mantlet seems to be working. I can't see it staying at 6.7 for long in this state, which is sad because I'd prefer it stay there without the spall shield just for avoidance-of-8.0-cancer RP grind purposes.
Update on this: apparently Gaijin fudged the numbers for the thickness of the spall shield by quite a lot; it's been corrected and now the T29 can be killed through the mantlet by its equals again - hurray!

Happy Werfer, he even has a tache like Mein Führer.
you better drop dem 4k lbs barrel bombs
After spending some time playing Swingfire I can safely say it's the worst of the SACLOS ATGMs.
If it weren't for the fact it's the only one with a minimum range and that the guidance is completely fucked on it then it may be competitive.
The missiles tries to 'ride the beam' instead of just going directly towards the target and when it comes back down from the launch it has a tendency to drop way too low and just smash into the ground. Not only that, but the whole 'Swing' part of Swingfire is missing as you can only fire the missile in a rather small cone from the front of the vehicle - you can manually turn the missile after launching it forwards, but it's ineffective as fuck due to the periscope having a god-awful traverse speed meaning you can't make the missile turn nearly as tightly as the real thing.
The Tu-4 is airborne cancer.
And it's miiine.

That's pretty shite then. Shame, it seems like a fun thing, considering the periscope is sticking pretty high from the vehicle so you can easily hide behind stuff and pop the missiles over.
Also, just because I can, here's a Chieftain.

Isn't that just due to realism?
I mean it's launched from a fixed angled launcher and meant to hit targets at pretty far range (max 4000m) after all.
If it was launched in the same way as a TOW or similar i would say they messed it up badly, but if you aim it at something really far off doesn't it manage to level out without hitting the ground?

If the missile feeling like a badly coded gmod missile is realistic then colour me shocked.

The situations where you can abuse the periscope are few and far between in my experience, so the one advantage over other launchers is non-existent 90% of the time while the many disadvantages are always gonna be there.
I've been slowly figuring out which maps it can work on and which it doesn't, but a lot of the ones it works on it'll only be on a small section of the map and even then most of the time you'd be better off with a different launcher altogether.
Bonus lil webm~

I wonder how crazy OP the swingfire would be if the game had the fact that there was a control unit that could be used from up to 100m away from the actual vehicle with the swingfires.
Missiles out of fuckin' nowhere.
I cringe every time I see a British plane using non-air belts for the 20mm Hispanos.

Ground belt goes through the roof of PzIVs and can set them on fire pretty easily, plus planes like the Firefly MkV (best CAS aircraft in the game) can pull out of steep dives really easily. My firefly has had strafing runs where it's killed 5/6/7 player tanks with the rockets and cannons
I'm talking about air RB, should've clarified.
Just out of curiosity -
I just noticed i have an upcoming of those daily boxes shit, the one with all the stars around it, have one of the possible prices being "A test drive (1h)" or something similar, for some premium vehicles.
Is this new?
Jumped in after not playing for ~4 months, played tier 3 UK ground forces, lost 4 games in a row as top 3 every game (minimum of 6 kills a game), and got a total of ~6k rp.
No thanks.
Me and a friend were playing tier two-three ish yesterday and holy fuck we came across the overpowered that is the 88mm flak. Both of us got more or less oneshotted from across poland by that thing.

Sorry, I have become one of THOSE guys; it's bloody amazing.
All aboard the Flakbus.
Honestly the German light TD line is pretty fantastic in general
How can I setup a joystick w/o fucking up my keyboard / mouse set-up? I just tried it and I just lost the set-up I liked

Slower GB vehicle research. Lol. Gaijan sure is good at ensuring a continuing declining player base.
Uhhh what the fuck? Ground battles are already disgustingly hard to grind, especially compared to Air battles where I can just camp a bomber and get upwards of 10k RP a match, where on the very best matches on Ground battle I struggle to make over 2k RP, coupled with higher RP research cost for ground vehicles, what?
Slower GB vehicle research. Lol. Gaijan sure is good at ensuring a continuing declining player base.
Yeah, I seriously ponder their choices. I mean with the 'sale' coming up soon, people are speculating because of that.. People will buy premium and not notice.
I have a hard enough time getting anywhere without premium. The only Tier 5 tank I have I believe is a T-51-1947 which is useless since it gets pitted against tanks that it really cannot do much against unless you flank the hell out of them and shoot that small weak spot.
It's pretty devious what Gaijin is doing, and it'll eventually decline more, unless you're like phlydaily that gets golden eagles for free to unlock whatever the hell they want with the gold.
T-51-1947 which is useless
t-54 '47 is pretty great and does fine against everything it meets. definitely ain't useless when played by a good player.

Maybe they've changed something up since it faced a Maus, which you'd have to ignore almost completely or distract until a Is-3 or something higher came along.
Iunno about newer tanks, I'm sure Leopards and such are easy to take out, not sure about Brits, haven't played since they were introduced.
I over exaggerated, it's not ~completely~ useless, but it's not near as good as a T-51-1951 or something with post-war ammo like the HEAT-FS rounds.
I'll never play that though, I cannot muster through the grind without Premium, and since they're making it even worse.. I definitely won't ever make it.
I do remember trying to grind to a Panther II, but even then :(
Bought myself a talisman for Leo because I am a good goy.
This last stand event is loads of fun. Its so satisfying to wipe out an entire wave of panthers using the 75mm t-34, while dancing circles around them.
Then the game starts throwing you Maus at wave 4, all I could do was to cripple its tracks and run away

The one round we DID win was because of me and my T-34 1941 acting as a meat shield for the SPGs and IS-2s. And a lucky bomber run
Got a total of 44 deaths, vs 73 enemy tanks destroyed. They sure bumped up the AI later on

I managed to get for myself 146 ground targets, on like 22 deaths. We were SO god damn close. And it wasn't any easier because 5 players had already left in the first five minutes in.
