Does the grass look like an airfield to you? :smug:
Weird, I always get repairs from rediculous distances.
If I was an airfield dude with a tractor I wouldn't wanna go haul a crashed Komet those things are lethal
IM AM RIGHT THERE RIGHT FUCKING THERE AND IT WONT LET MY PLANE FUCKING REPAIR THIS FUCKING BULL SHIT:hairpull:
Should of crashed landed properly :smug:
Boy oh boy do I sure love the fact that my Tiger I H is matched with Tiger IIs, Panther IIs, and post-war british tanks with ATGMs.
Boy oh boy do I sure love the fact that my Tiger I H is matched with Tiger IIs, Panther IIs, and post-war british tanks with ATGMs.
Whenever I feel sad in my Tiger I, I remember that the IS-1 is at the same rank, and how much more terrible that thing was to use in a 6.7 game than the Tiger I is.
Aw yiss, a PT-76 with a bigger gun. The long-awaited naval forces are ready to welcome their first commanders aboard from among the beta test participants. Become the owner of one of the pre-order packs. Your purchase will automatically make you a member of the beta test. We’ve also opened an application for players who want to participate but haven't purchased the packs for the closed beta test, which starts later. You can send in an application and we’ll review you as a candidate for the role of captain on a military vessel. Testing of naval battles will be done in several stages. In the first stage (pre-beta testing) special missions will be available at a specific time, several days per week. Vehicles that require test will be pre-allocated in the missions. The test will be primarily focused on vessel physics and controls - your feedback is extremely important at this stage, join the pre-beta testing and share your ideas in the special section of the forum. In the following testing stages (beta testing) the participants will be able to research the trees of several nations and for testing will join some selected players that submitted a request for testing. Also, in the second stage the owners of the early access packs will have access to the vehicles from the pre-order packs. Attention! You can participate in the testing from no more than two PC’s. First testing session will be held on : Friday 25th 17:00 GMT to 21:00 GMT Saturday 26th 01:00 GMT to 05:00 GMT 17:00 GMT to 21:00 GMT Sunday 27th 01:00 GMT to 05:00 GMT
CBT sever is online now if you want to DL the content in advance.
These boats are pretty fun.
These boats are pretty fun.
TBH, I'm actually having less fun than I thought I would be. The aiming system feels janky as fuck. Like I understand that waves and stuff factor into your accuracy IRL, but even semi-precise aiming is really god damn difficult and it seems like combat just kinda turns into an autocannon spam fest since these boats really dont have any armor to speak of like I just dont feel like there's any skill involved apart from how you position yourself. [editline]25th November 2016[/editline] The exception is the torpedoes and the high caliber cannons (like the T-34 turrets), which actually are pretty satisfying to use.
Not sure if I want to buy the German E-Boat. $40 is pretty fucking steep.

[editline]25th November 2016[/editline] The exception is the torpedoes and the high caliber cannons (like the T-34 turrets), which actually are pretty satisfying to use.
It seems like they adopted a WoT-esque aiming style for the boats where you point at the target and your gunner(s) will automatically elevate to hit at that distance, leaving you to manage the horizontal lead manually. I'm kinda torn as to whether I prefer the style of aiming for boats, or if I'd prefer to have it like in GF - on the one hand GF aiming requires much more skill and is much more involved, but on the other it'd probably be really tedious to use anything with lots of different types of weapon with high RoF like the boats we're getting tend to have. [editline]e[/editline] I only got to spend 30 or so minutes in it so only had a chance to try out the two Russian boats (agree the T-34 is really satisfying), but I had fun but maybe that'll change when I get to sink (HEH) more time into it Saturday and Sunday :v:
I'm thinking it's more that it'd be difficult to keep the vertical aim for accurate shots on a platform as unstable as a boat, which would lead to an exercise in frustration. Not that the grind in this game in general isn't an exercise in frustration, but y'know. :v:
The boats are cool but... It's become MG spam online. I only use the Russian boat with the twin T34 turrets because of this. Jagpanther: [T]http://i.imgur.com/7nuBR6x.png[/T] [T]http://i.imgur.com/7PumneX.png[/T] When you gotta carry, run out of ammo and solo most of the enemy team.

I had to kill the entire enemy crew to kill them as my 20mm lacks are sort of proper HE apparently. What are the classes going to be? I hear non-capital ships like destroyers will be the heaviest class possibly.
Its sad as fuck that you only get boats instead of actual ships

This is because of its truly murderous shells – the Ho-I’s ammunition complement includes semi-armor-piercing cavity charges with a TNT ‘filling’ of up to 460 grams! This is three times greater than the TNT content in Soviet cavity charges for the short-barreled cannon on the T-26-4, and almost 6 times greater than the TNT content in the cavity charges for the famous German ‘stumps’ on the early-series Pz.Kpfw. IV.
That's a lot of filler :O
The question is how much penetration it will have. Pure HE kind of sucks now.
The question is how much penetration it will have. Pure HE kind of sucks now.
It'll apparently get HEAT shells too
The question is how much penetration it will have. Pure HE kind of sucks now.
I had a lil lookie look on Wikipedia. It says the Ho-Is gun was adapted from Type 41 Mountain Gun which has mention of an APHE shell with 20mm~ at 3,000m and a HEAT shell with 4in (101mm~) - so if I had to guess from that, maybe 40-50mm @ 100m? Idk. How much that aligns up with whatever Gaijin is using for reference is anyone's guess though tbh. [editline]a[/editline] There's also mention of 'vomit gas projectile' for the Type 41 which sounds just lovely.
20mm~ at 3,000m
...Surely that has to be a typo? Who only tests penetration at 3km, where a stubby gun like that is never gonna reliably hit a tank-sized target
...Surely that has to be a typo? Who only tests penetration at 3km, where a stubby gun like that is never gonna reliably hit a tank-sized target
Maybe it's actually 20mm of pen at 3,000mm. That seems more likely considering Japanese ammunition.
[t]https://static.warthunder.com/upload/image/!%202016%20NEWS/November/Type%202%20Ho%20I/news_ho_i_com_64ecd507511dd30ee2cf9a725d8a6207.jpg[/t] http://warthunder.com/en/news/4359-development-type-2-ho-i-a-volatile-ally-en/ That's a lot of filler :O
Anti-tank rounds with explosive filler in them suffered a fair bit in terms of penetration due to the overall weakening of the shell. The British, for instance, removed the filler from the the M61 shell, put in steel, and produced better penetration with the round. The behind armour effects of the shells differed, but less than you might think. The fuse on many shells of this nature was also somewhat unreliable too.

I guess I'm not surprised that they've basically not shown anything in the middle ranks, it's all been stuff that would have to be rank 1, early rank 2, or late rank 4/early 5. Will be very interested to see how willing they are to go with paper tanks on the rank 3-early rank 4 stuff.

I have a new favorite airplane.
I guess its gonna have the same gun as the Chi-Nu?
Yup, both have the Type 3 75mm. Which actually seems like a pretty OK gun for lower tiers
Type 3 75mm Tank Gun Caliber : 75 mm Barrel Length : 2.883 m (L38.4) EL Angle of Fire : -10 to +25 Degrees AZ Angle of Fire : - Muzzle Velocity : 680 m/sec Penetration (0°): 90 mm/100 m, 65 mm/1,000m
Plus the standard fuckmassive APHE charge.
