Oh shit, that was uh.. this match? [t]http://i.imgur.com/QWkZwFY.jpg[/t] Sorry, wasn't even paying attention. I did a maneuver kind of like this: [t]http://i.imgur.com/LOOpVks.png[/t] People definitely noticed me, likely no one was giving call outs and I got stupid lucky because I'm actually really bad at spotting on the move as any replay with me will show that I usually ignore like 4 targets in my general area because I'm blind as a bad, but usually they are too so it all works out.
Literally how it is every round we do on that map.
Literally how it is every round we do on that map.
Yeah, even in Arcade. The issue from attacking from the West in RB is that sometimes people will set up at that black blob (a building) in the tippy-top right part of the map. If you're dead curious, there's a server replay here: http://warthunder.com/en/tournament/replay/#145739334257495678 I just rewatched it. Basically how it went down in my head is correct.
I can't log-in into any War-thunder related site on chrome, what could be the cause of this? [vid]https://puu.sh/torjD/2d6f81bd37.mp4[/vid]
he fucking survived, tho only with 2 crew and everything in his tank (literally everything) broken - anti-german bias, pls buff panther II gaijin!!
Be careful what you wish for, joking or no.
I was in a Chi-Nu and got my transmission blown out and got set on fire around a corner while being down to my last two crew Accepting death, I just repaired and stared at the Valentine that rolled up on me and started dumping rounds at point blank He shot at all the places where there was NO crew, managed to restart my repairs a few times, and miraculously I repaired, replaced my gunner, reloaded, and one-shotted him how
how
Never underestimate the stupidity of War Thunder players. I see players J-out the instant they lose too many modules or crew members. It's a bad move. In the absolute worst case, you're a distraction. Best case - they're retarded or die to something, and you're back in the game.

How do premium vehicles work in this game compared to WoT? Similar idea, increased credit and research gain I'm guessing? The thing that has me getting irritated with this game is how slow the research grind can feel, especially in earlier tiers. While the mechanics of the game are much more fun than in WoT, this early-tier grind is gross If I were to purchase a premium vehicle, hows the M18 "Black Cat"? It looks decent, I'd like the Super Hellcat but that's pretty pricey and I'm a cheap bastard.
The tank grind is atrocious, and it just gets worse the higher you get.
I'll probably have every tree up to Tier III before I have a single Tier V tank
The tank grind is atrocious, and it just gets worse the higher you get.
IMO, the craziness of the free to play grind is one of the reasons this game can't grow it's player base (along with some other major issues that they seemingly refuse to fix), especially when so many of the tanks are very similar (like 3 shermans).

The two most important features of premium vehicles are that: a) They come with every module unlocked. In late tier III and all of tier IV, this will save you from grinding the most basic modules for combat (Repair kit and firefighting equipment), and you get to use any type of ammo the vehicle supports right off the bat. b) They get extra silver lions and research points for every action in combat. And if you have premium time, and are a decent player, you can unlock an entire tier in a few days. Please note that there is a difference between premium vehicles and common vehicles with Talismans. The former increase SL and RP gains. The latter only increase RP gains. You can get a Talisman for a random vehicle in an after-battle reward drop. Key word being "random", you might get a Talisman for a good plane, or you can get a Talisman for a reserve tank that will only collect dust at Tier I.

This can be seen by hovering over the trophy in your message list. In this match I used a FW 190 F-8 and sturer emil so if I had gotten a talisman I would've gotten one for tier 4.
The tank grind is atrocious, and it just gets worse the higher you get.
The part that bugs me the most is how much slower the grind is if you play RB. I used to be an arcade scrub, but now I mostly play RB. The only reason I can put up with it is I've got most nations pretty high up already and I'm playing with people who have lower rank than me, so I'm not really too worried about the grind any more.
The tank grind is atrocious, and it just gets worse the higher you get.
The worst bit is: they started with the excuse that the tank trees are small and have less vehicles, so RP gain needs to stay low so people don't instantly finish a tree. This was after they got rid of the daily national 2x on a victory - which was like having 5 100% RP boosters that only activate if you win. And they desperately defended that stupid fucking roulette of useless shit as "generous )))))))))))))))))))))" saying that 10% RP across 10 battles, which could all be losses, was better than 100% on a singular win only.
The tank grind is atrocious, and it just gets worse the higher you get.
What's weird is not that it's hard, but that it's so much more difficult than the Air grind it's not even funny. With premium and a premium vehicle I can get a high-tier prop (about 100k RP) in 7-8 good games. With a tank that goes up to about 30 games.
Even running premium, with a talisman'd Cent 10, which is the preceding vehicle for the Chieftan Mk3 - it'll take me roughly 36-72 games to get it for 360,000RP. And what's more disgusting is, Tank RB gain is so mediocre that the estimation is kinda for either AB or RB.
talismans / premiums
it's also worth remembering that premium vehicles have +1/-5 range in what they can efficiently research, while a normal vehicle with a talisman still has the standard +1/-1 range before getting penalised RP gains. for example the T-34-85 and T-34-85E are (more or less) identical, but the T-34-85 can only research tier 3 to 5 without penalty, while the T-34-85E can do 1 to 5. similarly the Black Cat can do 1 to 4, while the basic bitch M18 can only do 2 to 4. okay so tl:dr don't bother with tanks atm Which is kind of a pity, because WoT drives me mad. I hope the naval stuff turns out better than, because WoWS is quite fun and naval battles are interesting in general. The different types of vessel feel distinct in gameplay too, so if that carries over from WoWS war thunder's naval battles could be pretty neat. I did notice the outright disparity in RP numbers though. I hadn't used any planes in a while, and then was surprised by how little research it seemed I had to do to unlock something like the P-47 vs tanks of similar tier
okay so tl:dr don't bother with tanks atm
i wouldn't say don't bother with it - just play for fun and you'll be alright. [editline]a[/editline] and by play for fun i mean play T-34s [t]http://i.imgur.com/yKxYkhh.png[/t] cheeki breeki, is balans comrade

Playing an M22 with a friend who is new to the game is the most fun I've had in a long time in WT
