Does the Jagdpanzer IV have any armor bugs? I swear my front got penned by a Sherman's machinegun which killed my gunner.
The random radio quality swing music makes those last few shots.

Usually only happens with extreme damage near fuel or the engine. I don't know how it works technically, but I think fires have two properties. A location and a severity. The location means that the damage is done spherically from that point, severity means how bad. You can get a tiny fire the fringe of your rear deck and burn for 5 minutes, or you can get a nasty one in the crew compartment and burn down before the extinguisher even works.
Somewhat related to what I was thinking a few hours ago. World of Tanks damage system is way more simplistic with HP etc, but also much more predictable even with the 25% RNG values. War Thunder has no "limits" to the RNG with its "realism", so you get absurdly retarded shots 1 in 1000 shells.

Parts/FPE (and ammo; belts and payloads for planes) are the obvious jab here, less obvious is the still-to-this-day wonky penetration mechanics regarding more than one plate and [B]especially bounces, [/B]which just [B]LOVE[/B] to make solid projectiles traveling at fuck-you speeds disappear because they doinked off a 1 degree plate despite only needing to travel a hand's distance to hit the armor after that. The pinnacle of this bullshit is those classic "I hit the lip of the 20mm track and it turned orange when I had 200mm pen and his side armor was 40mm" and the round disappears into the void. Worse still, when you clearly do penetrate, but because of spaced shit-tier armor (skirts, tracks, gear gubbins), 90-100% of your spall disappears and sometimes the APHE fuse doesn't even go off. Creates a lot of "I was in the right place, he was in the wrong - [highlight]and I still got fucked in the ass twelve ways to Sunday because I forgot to praise the Snail God before clicking[/highlight]." Other factors leak into that too. AI, unreliable bomb mechanics, [B]cannon and breech fuckery[/B], etc, etc. I still enjoy this a helluva lot more than WoT and I can never go back, but I will admit that even with the hardcoded 25% RNG values, I miss the predictability of WoT at times.
My favorite was hitting the side of a Hellcat with a 152mm HE shell and only making the tracks orange. [editline]17th March 2017[/editline] Physically impossible.

Has anyone here been able to beat the PvE mission, yet? Closest I've got is wave four manning a late Typhoon, and that's because I got to persuade my team to get altitude while I dealt with the howitzers that kept popping up (I had to land, anyway. Was running out of gas)

Think we've had 1-2 victories around 3.7BR and I've had fuckin' 0 at 7.3.

Oh wow, the gift Tu-2 is actually pretty good again. Performance is pretty much the same as Tu-2S (Probably even better, since the gift Tu-2 has more powerful and lighter engines than the later ones) and it can carry 4x 500kg bombs at 4.0 BR now.

Shot a Tiger II cupola which was peeping out over some rubble, licked it with the coax first to make sure I had actual LoS given the shoddy collision models of some objects. Got nothing. I could excuse this shit if it was actually 1HKO or hull-broke stuff, but I think only 1/3rd of my shots have killed anything outright. Which upsets me because when it does work, it's hilarious, but I'm abjectly better off just playing Sturmpanzer II or something. Reloads in half the speed, similar armor. Whine whine, git gud, etc. [sp]Yes, that was me, Psi[/sp] Also, becuase of how this game treats damage, just like the any other big-gun, you're wastin' time killing stuff because someone who blaps someone 9 times and eventually kills them is going to earn a boat-load more RP/SP than you deleting stuff outright.
