Use your binoculars to spot targets far away. Use your MGs to mark said targets on the map. Cover is your best friend against SPGs. Know which cover can be penetrated and/or destroyed. Always try to have the higher ground. Above everything else, stick close to your fellow tanks (But not so close that nobody can maneouver and a single bombing run can take out everyone). Simple pincer maneouvers and better numbers allow you to take on superior tanks (Better guns, position, armor. Or all three). Worst case scenario, it gives them someone else to shoot at. Y'know, a win either way. Remember to use your coaxials to make sure that a tank is actually dead. There are instances where an enemy tank is destroyed, but since it happened "outside" of your field of view the game renders them as intact tanks, without fire or smoke. A short burst from your MG will keep you from wasting a round on a dead tank...or might tell you to blast away someone trying to play dead and get the jump on someone more careless.
Got to the last wave of enemies in the PVE mode, anyone know if you get anything good for actually winning?
Generally, just don't be very aggressive unless you have a very fast tank. The first tank to take a shot is usually the one that wins (assuming you aren't using crap solid shot, then you lose half of the time anyway).
Pretty much this, mass hellcat swarms are one of the most feared things by slav/german tankers in rank 3 RB matches.
The game is fun when you don't get shit on by weird ballistics/penetration glitches (tracks eat shell, da comrade), and don't meet people who P2W their tanks into moving bushes in RB.
Right now I'm full cancer with all my tanks, I bought the 6 pice branch st when it came out and I now plaster all over my tanks
wrong thread ... so, any indication of that player mode supporting more than 16v16 ?
Fighting IS-6s makes me want to kill myself, to say the least. [editline]21st March 2017[/editline] Seriously I just wintessed 2 IS-6s drive into my whole team and slaughter everyone. At one point one of them stood in the middle of a town square and was being shot from 4 different directions. NOTHING COULD KILL IT. The only thing that seems to work against them is shooting the cuppolas. Otherwise, this tank's impenetrable.
Fighting IS-6s
circle them 'til they get dizzy :ok: [vid]http://files.1337upload.net/is6-meme-tank-125d42.webm[/vid] [sp]they're a bigger pain in the dick than tiger 2 spam[/sp]
https://www.reddit.com/r/Warthunder/comments/60pkqd/new_contender_for_the_fastest_plane/ All right which one of you is this?
[t]http://i.imgur.com/cX9qvt5.jpg[/t] One more down. I'm almost free. Just two German and three Japanese tanks to make my escape. [sp]And if you bring up planes I'll smash your face in with a log splitter.[/sp]
Planes are faster to grind, so...
How can I get a hold of the aeronautics safety and regulations board for all of WT's nations because last time I checked having bombers that lose both wings at the base and turn into a flesh torpedo from a single split second pass of 7.62 may or may not be up to regulation build standards. [sp] This new fucking wing damage update is atrocious. 95% of my deaths this update have been from having my fucking wings suddenly get lightsabered off at the base. The il2's armor is fucking useless when the wings keeping it from becoming a short range flesh missile keep slicing off.[/sp]
http://warthunder.com/en/news/4587-development-veteran-decals-en/ So they added these neat veteran decals, the catch is they aren't for actual playtime veterans they are just for consecutive logins, missed 3 days? lolsoz no 4 year decal for you. :what:

A decal to coincide with the join date titles that were given out would've been much cooler.
I've got 630 days in a row now :v:
After a couple of flights the new A-26 seems pretty exceptional so far. It actually flies good enough to take on most heavy fighters, and it's fast enough to keep single engined ones under its turrets
I'm getting real confused, how does spawn-protection actually work with tanks? Is it just a timer? Does anything reduce it? Just had an experience where someone managed to kill two people while still invulnerable in a IV/70, yet I've tried getting myself killed in spawn within the first two seconds without even being allowed to turn my turret towards the campers. There seems to be absolutely no rhyme or reason to it.
Any hull movement breaks it, but not turret rotation or shooting And sometimes the game just randomly forgets to give it to you lol
Pivoting in place doesn't remove spawn protection.

I simply adore those stupid russian mongoloids that play this game. One of them spawned in a plane just to teamkill me after I accidentally bumped into him as he was turning a corner because he thought he could kill an IS-2 that was looking at it. Who in their right mind does that? If I saw something behind a corner, ESPECIALLY something with a fucking 122mm cannon on it, I would steer clear of it.
Gajin Science: 7.62s take off bomber wings now but planes? Nope. edit: Sorry about the two freezes. This is my budget build im on atm and the cpu is shit. The worst part is the lag didn't even happen from my view when I was recording it, only the processing afterwards added it. edit2: Also, despite taking his engine out and him crashing shortly after, I didn't even get an assist :c
I almost never come into this thread, but today I must write a love letter. [t]https://i.imgur.com/6NanlTu.jpg[/t] To this hilarious bastard right here. It's the silliest, funniest thing I've piloted so far in this game and I love it so much.
I've been trying out a good hard-counter to RU-251 spam early-game in RB. Quite simply, instead of spawning in your best medium or heavy; you spawn in an SPAA loaded stock-full of AP shells. Preferably a speedy SPAA like the Crusader-ones. Meet the RU's on their own playing field rushing around flanks in the first two minutes, and hit them with a barrage of rapid-fire low-damage shells once you see them. They don't expect it, and have a hard time dealing with it. Even if you make just 10 points in your SPAA, you will still have enough spawn points to spawn in a medium aftwards. You start with 450, a SPAA costs 150, a medium costs between 310 and 210 depending on BR. Also got an amazingly fun kill on a spawncamper who was up on a cliff on Finland. He took out the 20pdr of my Stridsvagn 81, and I was ready to J out at that point. Then I remembered that the Stridsvagn's ATGMs go in a sharp, upwards angle upon launch; so I drove right up close to his cliff and fired one off. One-hit killed that lil' shit :v:

If your tank has neutral turning, you can safely turn in place. If it has real wide in-place turning, might be safer to turn your turret. But if you know there's like 4+ people in your spawn, better to just quit/get in a plane. [sp]Or spawn, count down from 10, try to kill 1-2 of them, J out before your protection is over.[/sp]
I've been trying out a good hard-counter to RU-251 spam early-game in RB.
Falcon plus golded-to-APDS = smaller, faster, deadlier Cancerblitz that doesn't get insane spread on overheating. It absolutely obliterates 8.0 German teams, and can still kill just about anything that isn't an IS-4, Maus, E-100 on the sides easily. (T-10M/IS-3 are tough, though. Usually not a good idea to try.)

The Crusader AA Mk. II works great for this purpose. Frontal pen is turret only, but the sheer volume of fire, speed, and the fact that you don't need to ever stop makes up for this. Doing this, I also had a rather hilarious run-in with an IS-6. Basically, I met him frontally, both alone. I spray-and-prayed his tracks to bits, he fired and killed my engine, then resumed to fire two more times with no serious damage. By the time he had wasted time firing his third shell off on a 3.7 AA-vehicle to no effect, a T34 and Conqueror climbed across the ridgeline and turned him into swiss-cheese. Don't have to get kills or caps to be credit to team; just distracting a cancer-tank is plenty fine :v:

My vehicle just ate two 21cm german rockets meant for another poor sod near me. [sp]I was in a plane[/sp]
I just started getting back into War Thunder and I decided to main the British tanks for a bit Why is the Valentine so slow, its so painful taking like 10 minutes to get anywhere I didn't think that would be so bad but then I checked the research tree and the speed does not improve for a while.

Infantry tanks like the Matilda, Churchill and the Valentine, and cruiser tanks like the Cromwell and Crusader. The infantry-tanks are heavily-armoured, moderately-armed hunks of steel that advance at a brisk walking-pace, to support infantry in attacks. Cruiser tanks are fast and lightly armoured, and are meant to do flanking and tank-to-tank combat. My best suggestion would be to grind out both Crusaders and Cromwells ASAP, particularly the Cromwell V is excellent at it's BR.
