All Points Bulletin: Reloaded V8 - when are they gonna nerf stun guns?

Or hackers on alts.
Not a week goes by without me thinking how much I'd actually play APB if they added some kind of PvE mode. Even if it was the most basic horde mode thing, I'd probably still play the shit out of it. Being able to just run around and shoot stuff without having to deal with any of the problems that the PvP has would be amazing.
This song will forever give me apb flash backs. Anyone else?

This, so much. Hearing this song, Gold Guns Girls and a plethora of others will always give me APB flashbacks from just driving around San Paro.
Friends, sometimes the circumstances are not in favor of even the most daring projects. February 1, 2017 APB: Reloaded in Russia it will be closed.
GMs team wants to thank you for the excellent four and a half years. During this time, we had a lot of tough competitions and tournaments. And one of our Event - "Urban War" - has become a unique feature is the Russian version of the game. Players have created thousands of characters, the style of which would be the envy of the most notorious gangsters and thugs. Many of us found in San Paro real friends. But the time has come to say goodbye.
From today, all items in-game store will be available for 0 rubles, and GM-shop is closed. All funds spent in-game store from 13 to 27 December, will be restored to the account Fogeyme.
February 1 will also be closed section APB: Reloaded is offline Fogeyma; Twitter and a group of "VKontakte" will no longer wear the official status.
The developers have confirmed that the transfer will be carried out on evroserver characters. Date transfer and other details being discussed at the moment. Detailed information appears later in "VKontakte" group and forum.
See you in other worlds Fogeyma friends. We will miss you.
Innova is kill - in a couple of weeks, that is. What's left of Citadel will witness an influx of Russians, probably.
A month of all-free marketplace items? That sounds like a damn good time to play.
[editline]27th December 2016[/editline]
Actually, are you sure it's not already shut down? The website has no option to actually launch the game anymore, the "Play" button is just not clickable at all.

Ain't got no clue, I'm just forwarding things from other people. Can't say I've ever ventured into Innova myself :v:
And that post does say it will only shut down on February 1st but its already completely not playable. I don't know what's going on then.

Innova Migration
With the news of Innova server closing down we’ve been working on the migration of all the accounts to our servers. We’ve decided to give Innova their own server (yes we’ll need a name), instead of migrating them into our existing communities. Once everything is finalized, we’ll have more details on how to proceed with the migration. Here is a FAQ we’ve put together for now and some items may change as we progress further into the process. We’re taking name suggestions in this thread for the new server.
So this was posted yesterday on APB's official forums, basically giving the Innova population their own server to avoid conflicts with the existing player-base as there's been some, extremely nasty re-actions to the planned merge. Plus the server will probably be named Nekrova due to lore, but that depends if G1 goes with that choice or not.

when isn't there a nasty reaction :v:
why not just merge with EU, anyways? i feel like it would turn into a Patriot/Obeya situation where they'd just merge them inevitably. besides that, i don't see any conflicts besides petty complaints like when Hoplon shut down and how people were being reintegrated into the main servers, which die down very quickly.

Innova had developers behind the game that actually made changes to it, so it ended up with Innova having a lot of things that were different to APB Reloaded, there's certain weapons that Innova players had that APB Reloaded players didn't. Ontop of that was the price difference aswell.
My guess is to avoid having a complicated mess on their hands, they decided it'd be easier to give them their own unique server without having to compensate them for any stuff they'd lose in the transfer.
Like, for example, Innova players could buy an osmaw from the cash shop where as in Reloaded you could only get a lease from contacts that sold them and it went the same with many unreleased weapons aswell.

All the custom Innova changes were worked on by Reloaded. 4games didn't develop anything by themselves
Also, Tiggs posted this after yet another community outcry :
[The PS4 build] has not been rejected, we have a meeting next week to discuss the release date. Cross your fingers :)
PS4 APB Soon-ish, and then it's time for the PC Engine Upgrade
It baffles me that they're still going ahead with it. Who is even going to play this on the PS4?
Wasn't the Xbox One version also basically unplayable due to running at like 20 fps most of the time? Why are they even bothering? I can't imagine that there's a whole lot of people playing that version.
Did that ever get fixed?
It baffles me that they're still going ahead with it. Who is even going to play this on the PS4?
G1 signed a contract agreement for the consoles, so they're forced to go through with it before the PC version could ever see an upgrade sadly.
Did that ever get fixed?
From watching a stream that I was able to luckly find, it seems like the frame rate issue was fixed only in Asylum, where it's still laggy in the two main mission districts.

Me
Well, that's assuming that it's available and it hasn't died by the time I'm released.
I did something really fucked and I'm banned from playing, touching or even mentioning video games until summer of 2017 and that's assuming I've "straightened up" and that my PS4 wasn't part of the stuff that was sold off to cover the damages.
I really liked grinding in GTA:O, so I believe I'm ready for APB
Bored, remembered this game. So has it been further optimized since ~2015?
Bored, remembered this game. So has it been further optimized since ~2015?
Sadly no. Not even word of engine update yet. I've quit the game some time ago but last time I logged in it was the typical mess.

Performance has nose-dived significantly between 2013 and 2015, last I played (March 2016) it was pretty bad. I could once run the game with a smooth frame-rate, now I struggled to maintain 30, and certain combat actions could drop it by as much as half. In the end what killed the game for me and my friends wasn't G1's shitty business practices, questionable attempts at balance, or the crappy playerbase. It was the slow performance decline of both the game and the servers.
[editline]14th February 2017[/editline]
I think what I miss most is the freedom. You make your character the way you want, make your car the way you want, make a spray and a theme, then go play in a decently sized in-game city with dozens of other players who have all also made unique characters and vehicles.

I really think a lot of the issues are fixed if it's installed on an SSD. Ever since I moved my installation to my HDD I've gotten some weird stuttering every now and then even with an I5 6500 and GTX 980.
I really think a lot of the issues are fixed if it's installed on an SSD. Ever since I moved my installation to my HDD I've gotten some weird stuttering every now and then even with an I5 6500 and GTX 980.
Running APB from an SSD only reduces the frequency of the stuttering but it'll still occure at random when it needs to load in new data from characters in a district, so it'll still occure regardless. Also the game prefers single thread cores with high clock speeds compared to multi-threaded cores.
I got a I7 6700K, 32gb of DDR4, 980TI, and two SSD's and the game still stutters, gets massive FPS drops. As for loading it takes the same amount of time it did when the game first came out.
The game is just very old, very unoptimized, suffers from a large list of problems. When they release events with new effects expect the issues to only compound.
Its a sad truth for a game I put lots of money and hours into. I still enjoy the games mechanics and really overall miss the game and its player base.
So I have installed it on my brother's as well as my PC. Both run a lot better than we both remember. However, we still do get the random stutters. I'd say optimization put it back to where it was in 2013.

you mean the thing that hasn't made any progress in about 4 years?
you mean the thing that hasn't made any progress in about 4 years?
that's fine, they still have plenty of time to catch up to a game that hasn't made any real progress in 4 years either.
actually, looking at the website, they have been making progress. my point still stands though.
I know the lead guy working on emu. They're making progress slowly, they're currently in dire need of people, but considering the usual crowd APB attracts, he's not really having any luck.
At this point he believes that emu will gain quite a bit of traction when APB:R shuts down, similarly to other retro servers out there.
Also, Phoenix is not emu, it's a secondary project intended to be APB reimagined on UE4, while emu is more or less a straight port
Ah, that clears things up. Man, I wish APB looked like that.
the APB:Reloaded PS4 soft-launch is here!
