I guess people have really been wanting a harvest moon game on PC :v:
And for those who got it:
How's the combat and that dungeon you can go explore? Does this game have that stamina limit like harvest moon? And do the days pass by insanely quick?
Dungeoning is pretty weak tbh, it gets very stale, especially the annoyance of having to mine rocks / kill beasts until one of them magically turns into a ladder leading downwards. Decent money, tonnes of copper ore, but I haven't found much coal in the mines.
What's that little cavern to the left of your house, near the cat shrine looking thing? Just looks like a little cave with tree roots in it. Does it do anything? And what even are those cat shrines throughout the map?
This game sounds really interesting, I'm tempted to buy it right now but I know I should wait for more reviews. I loved Harvest Moon and I really liked Rune Factory so this seems right up my alley. The "moddability" also seems interesting.
Whilst this has the same feel as Harvest Moon, I really think HM had much more depth to it. Though that could just be nostalgia talking.

All I really do in this is plant crops, do some housework (chopping down trees and clearing grass), water the crops, occasionally gift a potato to friends, and then sleep. I rarely go to the dungeons cause it's just repetitive. Hoping it picks up once I get cows or pigs or whatever animals you can look after.
Hot damn, a harvest moon inspired RPG? I'm on this shit
I really think if they were gonna go with this sort of style though they should have aimed for a portable release, though.
This game is so lovely, it gives me warm feels just with the intro alone
I just bought it. Let's hope for the best.
Not my type of game at all. Yet the features have me interested anyway. It actually looks kind of neat
Found this on the farm, I got creeped out when I used it.

And I just got to foraging level 4, you get a crafting recipe for a charcoal kiln, it converts 20 pieces of regular wood to 1 coal. pretty useful if you need coal and have a ton of wood.
So like, what's end-game like on this game.
Or well, what's it supposed to be like.
I found coal while just breaking rocks on the farm, so I guess that's supposed to be your early source until you get the kiln.
Here's a suggestion to anyone that is just starting: when you get the chance and have the money for it, get the upgraded backpack. It'll save you a lot of pain.
Guys, I just heard an explosion in night 19, game even gave me a little message about it but I can't figure out what it was. Any hints?

Wait are events like these randomly generated or is it scheduled the same for everyone?
Can't wait to get this game so I can have a radioactive farm

No idea! Loving the events though, just had one character event that ended in a coop round of Journey of the Prairie King :v:
Really wish you could outright slaughter some of the townspeople. There are some angsty motherfuckers in this little village and they piss me off. I'm just strolling around being a happy farmer and say good morning to them, and they hit me with sass and disrespect.
I'm a burly dude with a big beard carrying an axe, pickaxe, hoe and scythe. I should be able to use it to teach them respect. Maybe turn the village into my little fiefdom.

Shane is a dick
Ok, this is pretty fun, I really dig it. I'm probably gonna be spending a lot of my time in the mines. It feels exactly like Harvest Moon, but just made for PC. I'm hoping for some reason (no matter how ridiculous) combat becomes a bigger deal. I'll be bummed if it's strictly in the mines.
How do I cook? I wanna start making more money by turning crops into recipes.
Just when I thought the game was getting stale, I did a little challenge thing (I don't wanna spoil) [sp]in the old Town Hall, I fulfilled the Spring challenge by giving Leeks, Horseradish etc and it was really cool, gonna tackle the fishing ones next[/sp]

Maybe you need the first house upgrade [sp] it has the kitchen [/sp]. I'm hoping that I'll kinda be able to learn everything from the game. I was never able to make much progress in Harvest Moon without a guide backing me up. Especially more discrete stuff like unique events and romancing.
I don't really find any of the characters in town exceedingly interesting. Maybe they'll get more interesting as I get more events from them. I don't mind the game avoiding the whole "each character is defined by a certain trope" but they don't even really seem to have anything that makes them stand out at all other than that some of them are shop owners.
Is fishing kinda.. bordering on impossible for anyone else? Maybe it's just the mouse control, but if the fish goes up at all I can't make adjustments fast enough to keep it in the zone.

Fish going up is easy, it's when the fuckers stay at the bottom and your bar ends up entering the bounce of death (where the bar keeps dropping to the floor and then bouncing up higher and higher, always ending in the timer running out and you losing the fish).
Also, these ugprades are ridiculously expensive. $10k for a kitchen? You'd think they'd add something cheaper just so you can do basic cooking, but no, I gotta hoard up $10k so I can cook recipes. It's silly. And then a coop costs $4k which isn't too bad but it means I have to hoard up for ages before I can buy one, and then there's the cost of the animals too.
To be honest the upgrades costing out the ass is pretty in line with the older Harvest Moon games. Being able to do basic cooking at a campfire or something would have been pretty nice though.
Harvest Moon was always pricey, really makes those upgrades finally meaningful.
Money making is slow, I've really just obsessed over the mine, so income has been slow, I've been donating all my minerals to the museum before selling them. Got into the adventurers' guild. The game crashed on me though when I went to bed, so I might have lost that day...
Where does Penny live? I only ever see her at the library.

Evidently 1.01 literally went out not long ago, which fixes my exact crash, crashing after sleeping the day you get your pet.
I think this game is fun, however i'm dreading accidentally walking into an accidental game over that I have no control over because of no foresight.

Try potatoes. They grow pretty quickly and seem to sell for a decent amount.

If the wiki is up to date there really isn't a lose condition. There's a two year evaluation for "Stardew Hero" but that's it. You can play after the fact.

I got some cauliflower seeds, and I going to buy some more something, definitely going to grow more than I have been. It won't let me place my furnace anywhere.

Set up a spreadsheet for gifts, up to date as far as the wiki is. Edit stuff in if you want.

I think you have to be inside or a few spaces away from your house, there's probably an area "reserved" around your house for building upgrades.
